Sophie was hoping Cuddles would make it she hasn't seen her in a long time. Today as by magic while the kits slept a huge aquarium has appeared at the back of the hall with all kinds of fish for the kitty's to watch. A huge group has congregated to the back to see this new entertainment.

Grommet is mad at meowmy because she missed yesterday's festivities. She's ready to go this morning though, with a basket of nip crackers with salmon dip, and some flowers for the kits; she's wearing casual bermuda shorts and her pink Hawaiian flower print blouse. She has her pj's and toothbrush in her backpack. She kisses kittymom good bye and off she goes ~ whoosh!

Its OK Grommet, thats why its a weekend party. Theres plenty of time for fun for everyone. The party is back in full swing with everyone racing up and down the ramps, singing, and eating. And the nip bar has stayed popular. The older generation is sitting near the fish tank and commenting (not always kindly) on the younger generations.

Grommet takes the mike from Comet, and then proceeds to start singing the song "Light Me Up" from the Weber Grill commercial playing on TV currently ~ kitties start dancing and waving their paws in the air to the tune; don't ask kittymom where Grommet gets her ideas, because she has no idea ;-)

The kits are all getting tired so they changed into jammies early and are mostly sitting or laying about and listening to music and watching the fish. Sometimes there is some gentle wrestling but not for long. As soon as it gets dark there is talk of ghost tales and the kittens are all wide eyed with delicious fear as they look about to see who they want to snuggle with when the time comes.

Spice, Catarina, and Melinda are tired. they are going thru the wormhole tonight to cuddle and sleep with Cheri. They say goodnight to all just in case they don't make it back tomorrow...
They have had a wicked good time...
and Cheri is getting the last of her chores done so she may go to Crackerbarrel for breakfast tomorrow !!!

The action is a little quieter today although there are battery driven mice going all over the place creating new entertainment as the kits try to catch them. Some new climbing features have also been added also toys and treats coming down on strings for batting practice. Tonight just after dark there will be a fireworks show then the kits can stay another night and a big breakfast will be served. Goody bags will be handed out to departing kits (catnip mice, furry mice, fish shaped treats, and a special commemorative t shirt with the date and their very own photo on it. Any kitties who left before the goody bags arrive will have their bag sent through the wormhole.

Wow, CTR, thank you so much for this weekend! Leela and Comet seem to have bonded, yay! They came home for the morning and told me all about every cat and kitten there, every game they played, every morsel of noms they had. They are headed back soon, as they just woke from naps. Leela made some mini crab-cakes that she wants to bring. Comet is super-excited about the climbing games. Indoor kitties don't have many opportunities to climb, so this is great! (He is asking for a big live tree for his birthday - like the Christmas tree but something he won't get yelled about when he climbs it!) Leela is intrigued by wind-up mice, so don't be surprised if she forgets her manners and heads straight for them - she can be very focused.

Abby and Cuddles have really had a good time this weekend! Abby has played all the games, danced the nights away, and even had a pillow fight with the younger kitties last night!.......she's looking foward to the climbing games, she's never really gotten up high before!......
Cuddles hasn't really strayed too far from her beanbag by the fire....... cackels of laughter can be heard now and again from her and Sophie and some of the other elder kitties, as they enjoy their comfy spots and gossip....... CTR has kindly placed a large basket of 'soft' treats on their table, and they enjoy watching the young ones and all their energy........

Spice, Catarina, and Melinda have decided to return to the party after getting Cheri's permission. Catarina and Melinda have heard about the battery mice and have decided they will be champions at this, being formerly feral. Spice has a tray of tuna crisps and grilled sardines topped with catnip butter. Cuddles smells the treats and she invites Spice to the chat group. She immediately takes Spice's tray...
Meanwhile Cheri is having a good day doing chores and quietly knitting...

They are having fun. KM, that Grommet is a party animal. Sophie really enjoys Cuddles somewhat pithy remarks about the younger set. Catarina and Melinda have cornered mice to their hearts content.

Have the fireworks started yet? Comet's looking forward to that! Leela loves all the colors too but she's a bit frightened by the loud noises. Wonder who she will snuggle with?

Maybe Comet. I asked for more flash and color, I know kitties don't care for loud noises. Also at the end a group of birds (not real ones but ones designed to float through the air with the appearance of real) are to be released so the kitties will have the fun of chasing them. The fireworks should start in an hour. Dark comes late here this time of year

Ohhh, Grommet has begged to stay 'til after the fireworks. Please send her home promptly; she has been told to clean up after herself, and help the other kits to clean everything 'spic and span' so they will all be invited back again for another wonderful paaartay ;-)

Could Grommet stay until after breakfast? A lot of the kitties are planning to do so and they have plans to clean up after that. They have all been delightful guests. The fireworks are going now and the kitties are all eyes--there are a lot of paws wrapped about each other's necks. Some fast friendships have been made this weekend

The fireworks were great! They weren't as loud as Leela thought they were; perhaps she was too entranced by all the colors and the music. She and Grommet stayed close to each other though...

The kits are making their way to the buffet. Some have started cleaning up and everyone is sorry to see the party end although they are all glad to be heading for home. I suspect everyone will be sleeping a lot today and probably tomorrow. My five have had a great time and made new friends and many good memories. Thanks everyone for coming.

Thank you for hosting this fantastic weekend party, CTR! Thanks to your crew for being such gracious hosts too! Leela has promised that she and Comet will help clean up after breakfast. They had a great time and I hear there are many new inside-jokes for kittehs only! Leela and Cuddles traded hisses, their new "thing", as Cuddles gives just a slight wink after hissing.
