  1. Happy Caturday all! Hope you are having an amazing weekend. To those of you who are lucky enough to have a three day holiday weekend (USA), please enjoy it. Unfortunately, working in healthcare I will be working the whole weekend. That's ok, I am thrilled to have a job when so many others do not. Tonight the kits are pulling out the BBQ and grilling chicken, sausage, burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, kabobs and turkey legs. There are side salads, chips, beans, slaw and fruit inside. The windows are open, the patio is set up with candles and red checked table clothes, and the Calicos are manning the bar. You have a lovely pair of "Tuxie Twins" at the door to greet you. I am here in my pj's enjoying a lovely turkey cheese burger with extra cheese, some baked beans and homeade potato salad. Washing it down with an ice cold pink lemonade. Come on by and say hello!

  2. MC, thanks for opening the Night Shift and I will be in 'that place' tomorrow afternoon, this is the end of my days off. So will be joining you here with a nice cold pink lemonade and the cooling breeze by the fan.

  3. Here have some little itty bitty Meezers to pet! How was your Purrday? Here comes a calico waitress with an ice cold pink lemonade with an umbrella in the glass for some festive decoration.

  4. Hi MC & Deb! I made a wrap from some leftover sesame chicken and now feel kinda blah; think it was just too much food. When hubby's away I have no structure - will eat anything, whenever, hehe! Think I'll settle into a lounge chair and enjoy a pink lemonade too!

  6. I am like you Dee--I liked the extra money! I have the summer off so I can finish my Masters and attend 2 workshops that I won't even get travel pay for, but soon enough I will be back in my room in July working with my kids!

  9. We watched a National Geographic documentary on WWII today. A great reminder of those that paid a steep price to defend our country with honor and courage. Also reminds of of our time in Normandy on a special Memorial Day not that many years ago. Thank you Grandpa!

  14. Such a pretty kitten!
Family picnic tomorrow at Mom's - I'm making spud salad and "pink stuff", aka cool whip/jello. Taters & eggs are cooked & jello is setting in the fridge. I'll assemble everything tomorrow. Hubby is stopping at a market in Amish country on his way home tomorrow for treats!

  18. Hi all, lovely Autumn day here. Still in short sleeves and barefeet and Winter officially starts in two days! !
May I have some pink lemonade please.

  19. All this talk of food is making me hungry, going to drink some limeade instead though. Have been watching Parking Wars and cuddling with the crew :)

  20. Hi Deb, that sounds like a nice restful past-time. I'm just having a late lunch and putting my feet up after we spent 4 hours chainsawing and splitting firewood for the neighbours.
I have a coffee and several Kiwifruit and now I'm putting my feet up and watching Dr Who. Back later.

  21. Dee, that receipe looks delicious!..... and very similar to mine, except that I make a red onion/bacon/balsamic reduction and top with stilton....... but the parm and walnuts would be wonderful too!...... any which way you fix it, grilled romaine is AWESOME!......

Posted 12 months ago by AV #

  22. Stilton the cavier of bleu cheese! I haven't seen any since I came back to the States! Where do you get it AV?

Posted 12 months ago by SoxsMom #

  23. SM, my local Greenwise has it, as does my Fresh Market..... sometimes, I can even find it at Publix.......

it truly is the 'cavier' of the bleus!

Posted 12 months ago by AV #

  24. Publix is having a great BOGO sale this week, AV...we are stocking up!

Posted 12 months ago by Dee #

  25. Dee, I will have to look and see what I need - do you think they would put the 24 pack of 3oz Publix canned cat food on BOGO?.... LOL.... now THAT would be a deal!

.... did you get any rain??? I got about 20 min. of 'light sprinkles'...... my yard is parched!

Posted 12 months ago by AV #

  26. No rain over here at all.

BTW, we are still doing the curbside service at the store on Gunn Hwy for our one big shop each month. It is completely worth the $7.99... considering that I am not that mobile anymore and Tom hates shopping.

Posted 12 months ago by Dee #

  27. AV you haven't seen parched until you have been out here! WWM's area through my area have been ravaged by fires. We have only had 4/10th of an inch of rain in the past 6 months. We are so dry it is dangerous.

The advantages of living in a big city--the ability to get the best!

Posted 12 months ago by SoxsMom #

  28. .... I still need to try that, just don't get up that way too often....

.... I do however, avidly watch their 'coupon' paper for the $10 off gas card!..... with Son, Dau, Mr. AV and I all having cars/driving, it's easy to get $25 of groceries and a card, then $25 more and another card, then $25 more .... etc...... that is a GREAT deal!

Posted 12 months ago by AV #

  29. SM, my prayers go out to you and WWM, and all those in the 'fire' zones!.... how scary!!!!!

..... I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the crazy weather that our whole country (and world for that matter) is having!..... our mid section can't seem to stop the floods, and then other places, like you guys and Fla. are parched and dry!..... who knew?....... is this el Nina or la Nina or el nutzo?....

Posted 12 months ago by AV #

  30. The Little Roo wines are on a BOGO sale through Wed...I like to cook with them since I am not much of a drinker.
    Here is the Publix ad...
