  2. I will try to swim at least 750m at least 3 times a week, plus at least one long walk per week, throughout June and July.

  3. Sounds like a refreshing plan from this side of the pond PM for it has been humid since it finally has warmed up in brewtown! Me, was at the gym yest and was veiwing the pool area as very enticing. I must find my swim suit! Probably need to replace it this Season. Hope to include swim time as 1 day per week as part of 3 day gym schedule. The rest of the time I need to play in my yard for upkeep & cat airing out time!

  4. Still pedaling!

  5. I may try to fit in a little pedalling as well. I need to get my bike serviced again. When my daughter borrowed it she said something had happened to the handlebars.

  6. This is for wwm, i'm sure she'd be thrilled to bits - the south african minister of health today approved legislation to regulate the amount of salt manufacturers use in processed food. We're limited, apparently, to 4grams of salt per day . . .

  8. Walked just over 6 miles yesterday - 9.7 km. Of course I chose the hottest day of the year so far and am sunburned .............
Achieved the distance in 1 hr 58 minutes.

  9. Starting the new work week out w/a workout at the gym today for moi! Next,... any plans for this week #2 in June?! Thanks for the brain food link Dee, good going PM!

  10. I need to get back on the bike/trainer; goal 20min 4x/week plus 10min strength/flexibility stuff. First week: FAIL

Too bad the gardening doesn't really count (except for making my joints hurt, of course). Last week I did 2 5hr sessions. But digging 2in holes for bedding plants doesn't really get the heart rate up. Although with the 88 degree heat Saturday I was certainly sweating enough!

  16. Still hitting the gym 2x a week, and hula 2x a week. Right now, with home improvements going on, (much of it DIY) - that's enough ! :) Maintaining weight and body fat % at good levels.

  17. Hurrah for the South African Minister of Health!!!!! Now, if other countries would only get on board.

The MS 150 is next month so I'm moving up the mileage on my bike to get ready. If I could just have one day to ride without the stinkin' wind I would be such a happy girl!

  18. I swam 30 lengths today. It's less than usual as I only had 20 minutes. But better than nothing! I hadn't been to the pool since last Sunday. Swim friend's son spent four days in the hospital and she didn't want to swim since she wanted to be by the phone.
Swim friend is moving to Arizona in about three weeks at which time I will start a new workout routine. Ill swim about four times a week and probably ride three times. I'm selling my hybrid bike and buying a road bike so that should get me back in the saddle.
I'm signing on for a local 62 mile ride on July 10. Last year I did the 32 mile option of the same ride, which is what got me hooked on biking.

  19. What part of AZ is she moving to GD??

Posted 11 months ago by 2 Popoki #

  20. You know, I actually have no idea! When she started talking about moving, I was kind of hoping she'd change her mind so I didn't ask a whole lot of questions. She's leaving tomorrow for a couple of days to go buy a house so I guess that means she really is leaving, huh?
She wants me to come visit, so maybe, depending on where she moves to, there is a tdk meetup in my future! She was also trying to talk me into moving to AZ and promised she's hire me to work with her.......

Posted 11 months ago by GreatDane #

  21. LOL Nice try to get her stay. If she is looking for employees when she gets here, and if it's in 'the neighborhood' - let me know ! I know at least one person looking for work. :)

  22. GD, I have to say that my new bike is faster than my Cannondale was. I wouldn't have thought it possible but maybe it's because it's actually the right size for me!

  25. My goal is to lose some weight, I need motivation to go the gym and start eating better, I feel as if I really let myself go.

Posted 11 months ago by Silver #

  26. Hi Silver ! Keep coming back to this thread. It gets re-newed each month. We try to keep other motivated here, and as you can see, Dee gives us great links to healthy sites.
Me - I work out 2x a week and dance at least 2x a week. That's my fitness routine. Along with eating mindfully. :)

  27. Almost that time...mmm, just one more crunchy pickle before I hit the road...paw up waves w/wishes for all to have a better than can be expected next couple of days...later! Now a smooch for Tux...crunch, crunch...mmm, pickles! On to the gym for some other type of crunchies!

Posted 11 months ago by jeankit #

  28. Silver, you can start by not even going to the gym. Just lace up your shoes and go for a walk at a good clip - it's great exercise and you can keep tabs on what's going on in the neighborhood!
