  1. My fur Grandcat Lucky has been having trouble peeing and is spending a few days at the vets until he pees or has to be catherterised. He has crystals in his pee.I know some of the members here have had this problem with their cats and want to know what the likely cause has been and what did they have to do to help prevent this happening again.
We could do with some TDK Healing Energy too as Lucky is not out of the woods yet. Thank you.

  2. Poor Lucky, could it be a UTI? I haven't had this happen with mine, but I seem to remember others saying it was that and that they had to do special diets. Lucky is in my prayers and will be sending healing energy for him.

    Found these links:

Don't know if any of those help, but may give an idea of what's going on.

  3. I'm pretty sure it was Catwoman who had a cat with this problem.
Checking out the links now thanks.

  4. She did have that problem with one of hers quite a few times I believe, she's on FB more than here these days since she works so much.

  5. Great links Deb, I see they mention dry food diets and Lucky is on a dry food diet. He used to be a 'catch it myself' type of cat when he lived in the country. No rabbit was safe from him. We'll just have to wait and see what the vet says to know definitively.

  6. Some of the dry foods can cause the problems, wish mine would do the raw food diet but can't get them to cooperate....so its wet food twice a day for them and dry food on the side. The vet will have or should have good info on Lucky's diagnois, hoping that it will be an easy fix.

  7. My Maxie nearly died of this. It was caused by dry foods (this was some years ago) and the vet had to operate to remove the large crystals blocking his bladder. It is why I never entirely trust dry foods and especially don't like them for male cats, who are more likely to suffer. Some cats are prone to crystal formation, just as some humans are prone to gout. Easiest way to try to avoid it in future is not to feed dry food, although he may still be predisposed to them. Lots of healing energy going to Lucky!

  8. Lucky is home with expensive special food to help prevent this happening again. They had to inject something into his bladder to help dissolve the crystals. Tonight he is a happy boy to be back with his Daddy and Mummy. His sister isn't so sure about having him home as he smells odd. Thanks for all the information littermates.

  9. I'm so glad they have a less intrusive way these days of helping, rather than surgery. Please give Lucky a big smooch from me.

  10. Happy Lucky is home w/new noms. My sis's kit had urinary challenges & fed her kit special dry & wet food that was urinary tract friendly.
