It's been 3 long years since Shaddo blinked goodbye to me and ventured to the Meadow. It was a hot day just like it is today in Jersey. Over that weekend, I spent lots of time with him. We went outside and rested under the shade of a tree so he could feel the soft grass and smell the great outdoors with his mama one more time.
Shaddo's favorite noms are in the cafe for the kittehs today. Of course, a fabulous hooman buffet is set up, with crisp lavender linens and fresh daisies adorning tables. Fountains are running, and domestic short hair kitties wearing angel pins are here to take your order. Kittens are ready to play, and older kitties are looking for cuddles.

awwww Shaddo...sweet boy...I can't believe it's been 3 years. I remember when he went to the bridge..(((Joan))) Fred and Cricket are wearing their pin from Shaddo to mark this day.
Going to be another hot one today with scattered T-storms...ugh...After the 95 degree day yesterday, I let the girls play after dinner outside in the pool and around...we tried to go to the park at about 11 but Maddie said, Mommy I am too hot and the sun is making me sick...so we got into the car, a/c full blast, got some Icee's and went home...stayed inside till the hottest heat of the day left. I can't handle this heat...70..maybe 80...I am good.
Have to do some errands today...then tomorrow is the huge shopping day since it's payday..lolHow is everyone? Waves hi to everyone and to anyone that has come in while I am typing.

Good morning Joan, 3 long years and yet not that long ago at times.
May I please have a hot cocoa to help me sleep, I'm headed off to bed in a few minutes. HRH Shadz is curled up in a tight ball in her Daddy's chair with he nose tucked under her tail. The fire is dying down but she'll be snug and cosy until morning.
That poem is simply beautiful Joan, says it all.Posted 11 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Morning CM and Jcat. Wow CM, it is hot up your way.
Jcat, it's past the witching hour and I'm still up! ! Not for long though, my bed beckons.
Nighty night all.Posted 11 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

It's been 6 years since Bastian had to go to the bridge and I miss her still...I love my Cricket and Freddie Man and I hate the fact that they leave us...glad we get to share in the special bond of kitties and hoomins...
Here is too all of our kitties...past, present and future. We Love you!!!
Jcat...after Jasper had passed, I thought of something...I think Millie came into your life because Jasper was ill and his time was short. It was like he willed a kitty to you so you had a baby that needed you...not a replacement, but to help you move through the pain.
My MIL told me once, and I think it's true...I had Maddie because my mom was about to leave this earth and I needed Maddie to help me through it. If I didn't have Maddie, when my mom passed, I don't think I could have gotten up in the morning. She was 5 1/2 months old when my mom left and she helped me grieve and helped me keep going :)

That's a lovely thought, CM. I just wish that Libs could see her way to accepting Millie but it's true that having her to cuddle has eased the pain of losing Jasper, she is such a loving kitten and is always ready for a squeeze and a snuggle. It's so true, we do need someone to love and to get up in the morning for.

Evening Jasper, that is true about having someone to love and to get up for in the morning.
Morning everyone :)

Morning Deb! Night MS...
How is Millie doing jcat? Such a sweet baby girl, I am sure you are adjusting as well to her, since I am sure she will be an indoor kitty.Posted 11 months ago by cricketsmama #

Hi, Deb!
CM, she had an upset tummy over the weekend and I was ready to rush her to the vet but she seems to be over it now, touch wood. Yes, she will need to be an inside kitty and it is an adjustment for me, though she seems to like going outside on my shoulder, she doesn't like it at all when I put her in the grass for a supervised visit. Mind you, it is cold and wet grass at the moment! I am covered in scratches, though, since climbing up me and hanging off me are her default positions -- ouch!
But Libs is so frightened of her, it's breaking my heart. As soon as my next pay cheque arrives, I am going to take her to the vet to see if there's anything he can do. The Feliway isn't working because she refuses to stay in the house.
-
Jane, see if you can find the calming collars there, that should help since it would be constant pheremones (?) instead of just being in the house. Glad that the little one's tummy is settling down.
CM, how is Fred doing?

Hey everyone! Oh my, I saw that poem yesterday and it made e cry! Shaddo, we love you and will always remember...
Our power went out and hasn't come back on! OY it was HOT last night and I didn't sleep worth a toot. About 40-50 homes affected in my nneighborhood with no news on when crews will be out to fix.
Fortunately it's at least 20 degrees cooler today than it was yesterday.
-
Morning Siobhan, are you feeling better?
Jane, you should be able to order it from the link, like the Feliway the collars are good for 30 days (wish they were longer lasting, Kitty wears one constantly now). Ms. B is eating a little bit, but still losing weight :( She seems to be alright otherwise, drinking and lazing about the house and even jumping on the chairs to get where she wants to be.

Hi KITTS!
Awwww, Shaddo.....we never forget, do we? ♥ I think of all the ones I have lost over the years...they will be in my heart always.
Yup, yesterday we sweated, today is chilly (for me anyway!) And a high tomorrow of 54????? Say what??? I prefer the heat anyday :)
I hope everyone has a nice day!!!! -

Hi Sio & KH. Sio, boo hiss on the power :( It's miserable to try to sleep when it's hot. I'm SO happy that our air cooling system has finally kicked in (buildings in NYC have to provide heat until a certain date on the calendar, and it never coincides perfectly with the actual weather).

Katthays, now I do love the beach, just not the heat!
My dau introduced me to this website years ago and this one is a good one...the saying just fits for me lately...

Sorry to have disappeared..had to make brekkie for Maddie :)
Deb, Fred is doing well...he hates taking his pill, but he now seems resigned to let me give it too him 2x a day.
Hi Siobhan, Kilroy, and Katt...I don't mind the heat, but not this hot...just warm enough for the girls to go outside and play and I don't sweat..lol(((Libby and Mrs. B)))) I hope the vet can help in some way jcat...poor Libs...you are still loved very much sweet girl.
Mrs. B...Hope you are okay...I know mommy is worried a bit about you!Posted 11 months ago by cricketsmama #

I am finally off to shower and bed. Deb, please give Mrs B lots of gentle hugs from me. I'm glad she seems to be doing well otherwise, and I hope you get lots more time with her.
Siobhan, sorry about your power, though I'd love to be hot right now.
{{{Fred}}} I know you hate taking pills but they're doing you good, little boy!
CM, I hope the vet can help as well, I'm thinking kitty prozac, at least for a while, but Deb's suggestion of the collar is a good one too, as long as it's a breakable collar, she does love to climb trees...
Have a great day, everyone!
-
G'night Jane, sleep well and scritches to Libby and Millie :) I will give her the gentle hugs, and I echo your hope of more time with her. The collar is easily broken, Kitty has done it a few times already.

CM, that is good that at least he is taking the pills, may not like them but taking them anyways.
