My girls are late and it is ENTIRELY my fault! SOOOOOO, they packed an overnight bag and want to stay the night! I told them that you had to be ok with that but they insisted on bringing their "Hello Kitty" jammies and sleeping bags. Happy Purrday Cricket! The girls are in their finest summer dresses with bows in their fur. Betty brought a 'catnip' basket for Cricket with cat nip plants, toys, cat nip cup cakes and catnip sodas. Wilma brought over some balls with bells on the inside, stuffed mice and Greenies! The girls also brought salmon and tuna sandwiches and candy to share. Sorry they are late! Scritches to the Purrday girl from Auntie Amy!

SophieD bounces back through the wormhole and directly on to Meowmy's keyboard with a plea to stay overnight. She wants to watch the fireworks; she's never seen fireworks. Of course, Meowmy is busy tapping those little things on the keyboard so SophieD sits down on her timesheet, knowing she'll have to stop and look at it soon.
Sure enough, she gets the attention she wants and permission is granted. She dives into the closet to find her sleeping bag and jammies.
GizzysAuntie expects that Lady Coco will come home as evening draws on and the air cools.

Meowmy apologizes for the disappearance..dental appt...
She's back and all the kits are eating Smores...made with crunchy treats, nip paste and caramel hairball mix...it's actually quite yummy.
The smell of cut grass is in the air...Meowmy comes out and lights the 6 candles on the cake...all the kitties gather around and sing Happy Birthday. Fred is holding Wilma's paw. Cricket blows out the candles and her wish has come true..all her friends here and a fun party.
Meowmy sets up some tents for those kitties who like to be "indoors" at night and not under the stars...all the amenities of home.
Some of the kitties are playing tag, eating some cake, Fred and Wilma are quietly sitting watching the clouds....it's a glorious day because of all of Cricket's Friends who came to celebrate!Posted 11 months ago by cricketsmama #

Spice, Catarina, and Melinda have decided to go home. Although the party has been wonderful, they each crave pets and scritches from Cheri. They go to Cricket, wish her Happy Birthday, headbonk her, and thank her for a wonderful party. She nuzzles their faces and welcomes them back anytime...

It is getting cooler, and Zappo says goodbye to Cuddles, Shadz, Ms. B and Lady Coco and thanks Cricket for a lovely party before returning thru the wormhole. Polly sneaks in behind him- too many scary things in the dark!
Tortie Willow marches out of the wormhole scolding "Meowmy! Catkin and I want to stay!" Meowmy gives them permission as long as they listen to CM. "Mrrrow!" Willow bounces back through the workhole and heads to the treat table (of course!)

Meowmy opens the 'wormhole' and whistles softly...... Cuddles and Abby's ears perk up, recognizing Meowmy's call, and come running...... they thank CM and everyone for the wonderful day, and wave good night to all their friends!...... 'SWOOSH' thru the wormhold they come, with Meowmy waiting patiently for scritches and love time....... she helps them in their little (or not so little) pjs and tucks them in their warm little donut beds...... the girls dream of bubbles and sparklers and clover...... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Aww Fred you are so sweet with Wilma. Glad there are other kits for Betty to hang out with. She knows Wilma will be all googly eyed after "Fred time"!

Shadz, Dara ,Ringo it's time to come home through the wormhole.
They all pounce on Cricket and say thank you for such wonderful 15 hours, it has been so much fun swimming in the pool, sun bathing on the clover and playing games with all their other friends.

SophieD tucks into her sleeping bag and puts her head down on her paws. What a day it's been! She wonders about Jr. Squirrel at home. Did all the finches get his black sunflower seeds this time? And is the brilliant orange-headed hummingbird still fighting off all comers at the feeder? Well, she'll find out tomorrow. Now she waits for the fireworks to start.
Lady Coco licks the last of the 'nip frosting from her plate. Mmmm, good! But she's had enough for one day. She wishes Cricket a happy birthday again and says goodbye to all her friends, old and new, then pops into the wormhole. Ahh! There they are: Her little ring bed, a bowl of fresh water, and soft warm darkness. After a few words of appreciation with Meowmy, she slips off into the peace and quiet of the bedroom.

Shadow has been telling me all about her wonderful day at Cricket's party. She had lots of fun chasing a field mouse and felt so good when Cuddles,Sophie and Zappo clapped and cheered for her when she caught the mouse. She said it was great to swim again. She loved playing with all her new friends.

The fireworks were a big hit, Fred had got some that when they exploded they were shaped like Mice, fish and the like...The kitties Ooohed and Aaahed. They told stories, talked about friends that have passed, favorite treats, and their families. Cricket's Meowmy bought out some warm milk and salmon cookies for a good night treat and then she made sure everyone was tucked in and safe. They talked to the wee hours of the night..then one by one...their eyes got heavy...one by one, they drifted off into sleep. Cricket couldn't have been more content. Thank you everyone!

What a lovely end-of-a-great-party picture you paint, CM. Leela and Comet woke at sparrow fart and slipped thru the wormhole; Comet placed a daisey behind Cricket's ear and Leela wispered Happy Purrrday to her as Cricket half-slumbered, then hugged her good friend and honorary big brother Fred farewell for now.
