  1. It's the last day in June, TDK'ers! We have finished half of 2011...where has the time gone???? In honor of the upcoming holiday festivities, the Orangies would like to welcome you to a potluck din din! Bring a dish to pass but don't worry...we've got the grill blazin'! Ribs, chicken boobies, shrimp, steaks, pork chops... if it can be grilled, we've got it! The Tiger kittehs will be your bartenders tonight so make sure you tip those cuties with headbonks and chin scritches! Sawyer, Roxy and I are bringing deviled eggs since they are my favorite :) What are you bringing to the party??? Come one, come all and tell us about your day/night/afternoon!

  2. I have a pair of roasted cornish hen coming out of the oven in 10 minutes, served on a bed of rice with steamed cauliflower, broccli, and carrots. I did good! Normally I have so much going on cooking is the last thing I want to do. I think the girls are in heaven!!

  3. Heck, I'm in heaven, SM! How far do you think it is from MI to NM???? LOL

  4. You'd have to hurry--they are digging in--they really haven't eaten anything today. They toasted a waffle this morning, but it has been so hot. I decided they needed Mom to cook.

  6. Evening, Deb! Love the cute baby pics...especially the Taco-esque sleeping ragdoll pictures :)
NOM NOM NOM SM! Sounds delish! I was too busy today to eat much but I did make some chicken casserole when I got home tonight...it's simple and easy for me to whip up :)

  7. I am getting ready for my part of the 4th of July party. I am doing some of the side dished. The meats are hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, and barbeque drumsticks. The other person is making macaroni salad, potato salad, and baked beans. I am trying to round out for the vegetarians. I have a vegetable tray with pickles and olives too. Deviled eggs--two types--traditional and cheddar and bacon deviled eggs. I also will do some type of bread and a fruit. I have to get inspired.

  10. My mom taught me this, SM and it's the easiest thing in the world to make! We call it "chickie rice casserole"

3 chicken breasts (you can leave them whole or cut them into chunks).
    2 cups of rice
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 small can of diced mushrooms
    2 cans of chicken broth

Brown the chicken for a few minutes, pour the dry rice into a greased casserole dish and boil the soups and broth. Lay chicken breasts over the rice and pour the liquid on top. Bake for an hour-ish at 375. Enjoy!

LOL, as you can tell...all of my cooking terms are relative...that recipe is easily rearranged to add/subtract what YOU might want. Ooooh it sounds so good right now! :)

  14. Watching Iron Chef--Battle Berries. I so wish I was there eating! Someday I dream of eating a meal cooked by Morimoto or Batali! I would like to meet Cat Cora--I would like to meet them all!

  19. Evening all, 1st July here was a beautiful and very un-winterlike day of glorious sunshine.
Deb, that email has been all over the news sites and on TV today. What on earth was she thinking. The consensus of what I have read today is that the step MIL is very much in the wrong and broke so many conventions some of which she claimed her future DIL had broken.

  21. ROTFL here, Shadz is disappointed that her Daddy has gone to bed as she loves to lie on his lap during the evening. She decided the back of his chair looked a good place to sit until she almost fell off. She hasn't sat up there since she was a kitten and back then her backside wasn't as big! Then she sat on my laptop making the page scroll up and down and now she is sitting on a small side table, somewhere else she never sits. We have decided that she must be feeling frisky seeing as how she yakked on the carpet earlier. It hasn't been a boring evening, that much I can say.

  22. Even more ROTFL, Airy came and took her off to her bedroom and now I am getting instant messages asking for help. I troop up the stairs and find Shadz has planted herself on Airy's chest nicely in between face and screen and Airy looks like she has a large dappled furry moustache. Shadz refuses to move and I had to leave the room and I was laughing and snerting so much I was afraid I would waken Mr MS.
Cats! They sure can make you laugh.

  23. LOL, Shadz is having quite an evening! Sounds like she's taking it out on Airy that Daddy went to bed early and messed up her routine.

Posted 11 months ago by GreatDane #

  24. Good morning GD, yes Shadz is having quite an evening. So far there hasn't been any more IM's from Airy. Hmmmmmmm, I wonder what is going on up there now.
Has it stopped raining there yet GD?

    Posted 11 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  25. Evening MS and morning, GD, man, it is cold here. How funny of Shadz to torment her hoomin sister like that :-)

Posted 11 months ago by jcat #

  26. Evening Jcat, the outside thermometre says it's 4.7C but we're all warm & cosy with the fire.

    Posted 11 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  27. Morning all!........ still raining here! (yay)..... *ducks* as GD throws shoes.......

........ going to be a short work day for me, as I have just a little paperwork to get done, then I'm closing the office early!......

....... LOL @ HRH....... Abby gets like that sometimes, I think she considers that silver metal 'box' with the light on the screen that is always in my lap as her worse enemy!........

Posted 11 months ago by AV #

  28. Ooh, MS, can I come and live at your house please? My house is cold. I will be bringing two little furrbutts, Shadz won't mind, will she?

Morning AV, yay, you get a long weekend!
