  11. Posting this to refresh myself and anyone else who forgets origins of holidays.
    Today we're celebrating...
    Bastille Day
The French national holiday, celebrated on 14 July each year. In France, it is called “Fête Nationale” (“National Holiday”), in official parlance, or more commonly “quatorze juillet” (“14th of July”). It commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, held on the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789; the storming of the Bastille was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern French “nation”, and of the reconciliation of all the French inside the constitutional monarchy which preceded the First Republic, during the French Revolution*

  12. Hey Deb, I don't think I conveyed my sympathies to you for your loss of Ms. B. I know you take comfort knowing she's not hurting, but I also know that pawprint on your heart is heavy. {{{Deb}}}

  17. HI to Joan, Kilroy and Deb!
Kilroy, you asked yesterday about whether my friend knew the history of her old house, and yes she does! It was so very interesting.....the house was built in 1857!!!!! It was a coach house where coaches would come to layover, change horses, etc......It was a great day, lots of fun eating and chatting!!!
Thanks for the heads up on my avatar...I just changed it this morning :))

  20. Awww, thanks GD....what is Bobby doing to Mi?? Looks like he's trying to eat him, lol :))
Deb, They were cuddling and and watching me with the camera :)

  22. Thanks, I DO love my boys so much!

Posted 10 months ago by katthays #

  23. LOL, KH, this was right after Mi's very first bath - he was 9-10 weeks old. He was so upset and ran straight to Bob who groomed him and made it all better. Ever since then, Bobby has been his favorite, and I'm a distant second. He doesn't like anyone else at all :)

  24. Lol, GD...that is soooooo sweet!

  25. How funny about the cafe today. We will have a pot load of people here for dinner tomorrow who are riding with us in the MS 150 this weekend. Since I'm riding, too, I wanted to reduce my work load and so decided to do a cheese platter for the appetizer. I just got home from the store with a bunch of yummy looking cheese!

Posted 10 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  26. Awwww GD, that is such a nice picture of Bobby and Mi :)

WWM, enjoy the ride and the company.

Well I should get dressed as I have to go see about the CPAP machine that the doc wants me to try using.

  27. GD, I love your new avatar too! What's with all the new cuteness? (note: I'm not complaining). Poor Mi, but thank goodness for his big brudder.

Posted 10 months ago by Kilroy #

  28. Mmm...cheese platter sounds delish WWM! Moi, I'd like some brie to go along with the French theme in brewtown since it is lunchin' time too...now to the patio w/fave kit Tuxi-o, later!(I really need to relax/too much new 'puter stuff around here these days/oyy!) Too cute story & avatar GD!

Posted 10 months ago by jeankit #

  29. Stopping in to sample the cheese platter. *sticks paw-print toothpick into a rolled up piece of swiss, then a square of pepperjack, then some muenster, then grabs a piece of string cheese and flops down on a beanbag chair to eat it string by string*

Posted 10 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  30. Sneaks past Joan as not to disturb her catnap...sssh, back to wuurk Tux/grabs handful of cheetos and quietly closes the door.
