  1. Hello TDK family! How is everyone? I know most of us are in sweltering heat right now. Let's have some cool salads, fruits, ice cream and 'beverages' to take the edge off. Kits have the a/c on for those of us who are hot but the patio is open and there are umbrellas up to keep the sun out of your eyes. How are you tonight? Hope everyone is well in TDK land today!

  2. Amy! Oooh I nice fruit salad with lots of melon sounds good... and a cold ice water in a never empty cup.

How are YOU? Never see you much anymore :(

I'm doing okay, slugging along... getting ready to go to bed and thought I'd stop by and so glad I did!

  3. You know I have been sooooooo busy this summer my head is spinning. Trust me, I would rather be here then running around. I feel like my calendar is going to blow up its so full of "stuff" that has to get done. But that being said, I am ok, the girls are great and keeping meowmy company when she gets home. How are you?

  4. I'm doing pretty good. Have some challenges I'm working through and took a little break from TDK, but this is my main lifeline and support system and I've gotten some good advice and guidance. So I'm putting one foot in front of the other and doing things I need to do (and had put off for FAR too long!). Baby steps every day. :)

How is your health and pain and your leg?

  5. My head has been bugging me this week a bit. Going to PT several days per week for my leg (so that takes time!) and overall I am feeling pretty good. On some good meds which are keeping things under control fairly well. I am also working on me, seeing a counselor which has helped tremendously! I understand the baby steps!

  7. Hi there MC & JBBM! A cool fruit salad sounds great! I just bought grapes to put in the freezer - it's a nice cool treat on a hot day. Last night we had pasta salad, tonight BLT's. I have to make sure the bacon is totally cooked and as much grease sopped up as possible so I don't feel like crud for the next 36 hours. *fingers crossed* They sure were good and there's nothing like a fresh Jersey tomato.

  9. Hey there everyone, just going thru my children's books here...actually weeding thru them for keepers and those to turn in for credit @ Bookman's.

It is so wonderful that these beautiful cats have been found, now I hope that they are left alone in peace.

  14. You know how I am always telling everyone to enter the blogging contests and house parties because you have good chances of winning great prizes? Well, I kept telling one TDKer to enter the contests. And check out what she (cricketsmama) won! I LOVE Le Creuset! Congrats on a great score, Jen! And now I have competition...haha!

  19. Well done Jen! I'm so envious - I love Le Creuset too and got my first (& only) casserole dish last year. MS has a beautiful orange one that she got as a wedding present and I have coveted one for years. I finally got mine through a shopping loyalty programme I belong to. Blew all my points on it!

  20. I know, KK! I love my Le Creuset skillet grill, but I don't have any of their bakeware.

Here is a homemade caramel corn recipe that is making me hungry now!

  21. Yum - sent the recipe home to the chief popcorn-maker. I have a friend who has a whole bunch of Le Creuset cookware - skillets, tagine, casserole dishes etc. He managed to keep the bulk of it in his divorce - clever man.

  23. Oh that does look good Dee.

I used to have Le Creuset bakeware but they disappeared during on of my overseas moves, so someone is enjoying them or so I hope.

  27. Evening all, it's a darn cold winter's night, even with the fire going. How I envy your lovely summer heat. Having said that how about a delicious summer dessert cake recipe. I haven't made this but it looks so delicious.
