It was a year ago the Mac (Ogden) and Molly (Uebelhoer) crossed the Rainbow Bridge on the same day. It was sad but today we are only going to remember the good times and celebrate them and all the kits who have Blessed our lives. We have a wonderful buffet today catered by Panera and Cracker Barell. There are hot and cold items for you to enjoy and plenty of drinks to keep everyone hydrated. Please join us and share stories of kits who have Blessed your life (if you wish)! Hope that you have a wonderful day! Hugs to all!

Raises glass in toast to Mac & Molly, never forgotten.
Good morning all from chilly NZ. HRH is curled up in her basket by the fire and I have a hot cup of coffee that has just percolated on top of the fire. Today it was so chilly Airy and I took Mum to the local natural hot water pools and we soaked in the delicious hot pools in the rain. Bliss!Posted 10 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hi Dee and CM. Dee it is lovely sitting neck deep in hot pools while it rains gently all around you. The difficult part is standing up into the chilly air and then dashing to the changing rooms on cold wet concrete.

.... morning all!..... MS, those pools do sound lovely!...... we don't have anything like that around here, but I know I LOVE my jacuzzi tub (the man-made version)
..... it really is a heat wave in the US....... it's hot, muggy and generally a bug-fest!....... makes one not want to go outside!.....
..... I'm so excited, I just have to get thru today, and I have a 3-day weekend!...... looking forward to spending time with Son and his new GF, who's coming to visit....... I am in charge of spectacular food, and non-embarressing conversation....... Mr. AV is in charge of entertainment, and Son had BETTER get Odie's stinky cage cleaned out, cause he's a messy little stinker! LOL

LOL at AV...
I have a sweet memory of Siddhartha to share. We got him right after we got married. My husband was working 11pm-7am at that time, and took the only car to work. I was alone for the first time, newly married, in an apartment complex where I knew no one else...and I had this tiny orange boo to keep me company.
From the very first night with us, Sid slept on my pillow. As time went on, Sid grew, but he still slept almost every night on my pillow. Pretty soon I was able to hold his tail with one hand and pet him with the other. And still he slept on my pillow.
Almost every night for over sixteen years, my little orange boo slept with meowmy.

I won a space-related contest on the local radio station this morning. Got to brag about my dad, who was one of the engineers who designed the space shuttle nose cone. The dj's totally gushed over it - having a local guy involved in the shuttle! He no doubt watched the safe landing and the end of an era from heaven with a tear in his eye.Posted 10 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Sleep well and sweet dreams, MS, and scritches to Shadz. I will not be long behind you.
Ooh, yes please, CM, I will gladly take some of your heat and so will the kitties -- and it's much too hot here in January so I'll happily return the favour in a few months' time!
Joan, I'm not surprised the DJs were rapt, your dad's achievement is indeed something to be proud of!

Millie is on my shoulder right now, GD, she has just finished off a plate of jellymeat (urrrgh), because I forgot to go out today and get some new meat for them both. Libs is starting to come into the house a little more -- for the first time today, she jumped on the office windowsill to ask to come in, she hasn't done that for months -- but she is still sleeping in her sheepskin basket in the garage :( I wish she would come in by the heater, she is sneezing a bit so a visit to the v-e-t will be in her future if the sneeziness doesn't disappear soon. I think she has a cold :(

awwww Libs...come in where its warm sweetie...she is doing things at her own pace I see, but hopefully she will see Millie as a friend not a foe, very soon.

Oh no, poor Libs! Hope she feels better soon! Glad she's coming inside a bit more, though.
We took Glen Jr. to the vet yesterday and he had gained almost 2 lbs in two months! He's just a hair over 9 lbs and at a perfect weight for him. Yay!
Unfortunatelyhis bad eye looked funny and the vet did a stain test on it and found an ulceration. He needs eye ointment twice a day for a week and then we have to take him back in. The vet said it's very painful - and we never even noticed :( Poor Glen! Hopefully the ointment will do the trick. Of course, for it to do that, I have to be able to actually get it into his eye! I've never had a problem with drops, but this ointment is just really difficult to get onto the eye itself instead of the side of the eye, his nose, whiskers, myself, etc. Arrrgh! Anyone have any tricks they'd like to share? -
Hi CM! Bye CM! Hugs to the girls and big cheers for Wayne!
Hugs to Mac & Molly at the Bridge; your hoomins miss you and still love you every day.
Morning, all. I will gladly send some heat to anyone who needs it; we're headed to over 100 with the humidity today, blargh. Of course that means the office is FREEZING; going in & out is like going from a freezer to a sauna.
Just found out that Mr. K is going out of town for 3 days in August, in addition to the 9 or 10 days in September, hmph. Must be nice to be retired :(
ETA: Oh, poor Glen Jr.! (((Glen))) Sorry I can't offer any advice, GD, just lots of sympathy. Poor little guy, but thank goodness he's got you and GG.
-
Ohhh, poor Glen. Kitties can be quite prone to ulcers in the eye, especially if they have a chronic virus underlying it -- snuffles or chlamydia. When I have to get ointment in the eye I do it like putting contact lenses in, left hand over the head, drawing open the upper eye, right hand underneath the face, thumb drawing back the lower eye, blob of ointment on the index finger of the right hand comes over and very quickly splats it in the open bit. You have to be fast and smooth, lol. If in doubt aim for the corner of the eye by the nose, if it gets in there, Glen will blink it over the rest of the eye surface. Does that make sense? Two people would be easiest. Fast, smooth, and when they're unsuspecting...
-
GD, do you have a second person to help you with the ointment? Eko has needed eye ointment a couple of times and I just can't figure how to do it alone. My husband has to hold him and hold his head still. I part his eye and squeeze the ointment in. I miss occasionally, but even if it gets on the edges of his eye, I think when he blinks and grooms it spreads to the rest of his eye. Happy news that Glen Jr. is putting on the pounds! Just saw your post, JCAT....I might need a video demonstration!
