  1. One of my faves was on t.v. last night: "O Brother, Where art Thou?"

I just live for the moment when Delbert (Tim Blake Nelson), still groggy from his stupor, looks at what has emerged from the shell of Pete's (John Turturro)clothing and exclaims to Everett (George Clooney):

"Them si-reens did this to Pete! They done loved him up and turned him into a h-horny toad!"

What about y'all? What lines in the movies do you never tire of?

  2. I love O Brother Where art Thou! Just watched it again on Sunday.
    "Do not seek the treasure!"
"We thought you was a toad."
    "DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE!!"

  3. "The Blues Brothers" was on recently, too. The best part is when Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) says to Jake (John Belushi):

"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses."

Anyone who can't identify with that never went on a college road trip!

  4. "When I'm good, I'm very, very good, but when I'm bad, I'm better"
"Say hello to my Little Friend"
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"
    "I'll be back!"
    "There is no spoon."

OK, Ladies! And the correct movies are??? (These are a little too easy for you, I'm afraid.)

  5. I cannot remember the name of the movie or the actors (this really is one I should remember but for some reason I can't - I blame it on the toothache and on having to work with Teresa *grins*) but this is one of those lines that would really make a person wonder what the heck was going on if they happened to walk by the TV and hear it without knowing what was going on.

The two guys are in a cabin and something happens - I can't remember if the cabin slid down the side of the mountain or what - but one of the guys is trapped up against a wall by a table and a refrigerator. The door of the refrigerator has come open as the machine slid across the floor and food has gone everywhere.

The first guy asks the one who is pinned up against the wall if he is okay.

The second guy responds with this unforgettable line - "I have a bowl of chocolate pudding in my underpants!"

  6. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner has always been one of my favorite movies. It was the last movie Kathryn Hepburn and Spencer Tracy made together, and the entire movie is perhaps the most beautiful swan dance ever filmed.

My favorite line from the movie was when Sydney Poitier said to his father,

"Dad, you think of yourself as a black man. I think of myself as a man."

  7. How 'bout:

    "Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerfherder!"

    "Who's scruffy-looking?"

  13. The only movie I own is Forrest Gump. My favorite line is when Lieutenant Dan asks Forrest if he's found Jesus yet. Forrest replies, "Well, I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for him, sir." What a movie! Every time I watch it, I find something else to love.

  15. miu:

I'm No Angel - Mae West
    Scarface - Al Pacino
    The Shining - Jack Nicholson
The Terminator - Ahhhhnold. (Schwarzenegger) :D
The Matrix - Random boy waiting in the Oracle's apartment

And, IIRC, the Mae West quote is "When I'm good, I'm good...and when I'm bad, I'm *very* good"

  20. I didn't do so well on your quiz, miu... I thought the Jack Nicholson quote was from Term's of Endearment.... ooops !

I have always loved the line in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid:

  21. Scarface is and has never been in my fave list but that line stuck in my mind. Matrix 1 on the other hand knocked me down - I especially searched for something quotable. Although I must say time and sequels have seriously dimmed its glory.

  22. One Popoki: If you haven't seen The Shining, watch it. It was a very scary movie at its time, not because of blood and gore but because of Jack's slipping into the madness.
