  3. Oh my goodness - that all sounds divine! Grilled lobster and avocado cocktail - can it get any better than that? SM, you have outdone yourself!

It is SO stinkin' hot here - 105 at 6:30 pm. I just went out to feed the turtles and poor babies - they just look parched. Normally they'll dig down in the wet soil to survive the heat of the day but since we can't water there isn't much in the way of moist soil. I can't help but think of all of the turtle out there in the desert - I think that so many little animals are losing their lives to this heat and drought. It makes me so sad.

I'll have a cranberry lemonade with just a splash of vodka, please!

  4. Join you in that drink WWM! We had to deal with the water shortage. They are about to dig a pipeline to a lake--hope no one wanted water in the lake--how will this mess things up? There is an eco-system in that lake. Then again those here that are without water because of dry wells need water. I heard thunder and was so excited. Praying it means rain and no lightening that may cause a fire!!

  5. Wow, the night shift looks and smells awesome! I'll sample some of everything! Also, I would love a lemonade slushy, but can I please have the, uh, adult kind? Thanks!

  7. for all you that love to travel...
1: Open Google Maps (get directions).
2: Type China as your starting point.
3: Type Taiwan as your destination.
    ...4: Get directions.
    5: READ STEP 48.
6: When you stop laughing, put this as your status so others can have a laugh

  8. Just dropping in to say Hi & drop of some Pink Lemonade. Mike's Pink Hard Lemonade that is. It's got twice the party power & taste just like the pink lemonade we use to make as kids Yummm. Hope Dee is having a great purrday.

AzDeb....are you referring to the "route not being found" comment on the google map?

Posted 9 months ago by feral #

  9. Lol yes :)

  10. I think Mapquest is the one that if you type directions from NYC to London it tells you to swim the Atlantic...

Aunt's interment was nice yesterday; brief, with just immediate family present. My brother noted that although it was hot in the sun, it was a pretty day with big fluffy clouds and a nice breeze - she would have loved it.
Almost fainted on opening an envelope containing a charm. There are 6 of them; one for each of 3 neices and one for each of 3 grandneices. Accompanying it was a note explaining why each piece was chosen for that particular person. We all have a tangible link together thru her - how cool is that!

  11. I thought so. It did make me laugh. The chinese probably have a hard time finding it also, you think? lol. I was only kidding on that comment tho.

I enjoyed the links to the cat studies. If I could only get Useless to understand the stress & sick factor every time he has a tantrum. Like clockwork, each tantrum he has, at least 2 of the 3 Muskateers end up throwing up. Never any other times & yet he tries to say it's the food.

I adored the little moosies in the pool too. Don't work too hard tonight Deb & hope the NS has a good time at the Party bash.

  12. OMG...I'll have to check mapquestas well. Swim the Atlantic....lol. The charms sound beautiful Joan. How nice of a way to keep the bond between you all.
Have a nice evening you all.

    Hello, everyone!

  15. Liz, I love Alton Brown, too!
His Swedish Meatball recipe is fantastic!

  16. SM, people in Robert E. Lee (a small town but with a lake that has been sucked dry by the rest of us) are now watering what is left of their yards with bath water. Sadly, the day when we might all have to share a bath, and then use the "gray water" is only a month or so away. I only wish that the rest of the country would/ or could/ understand the dire straights that we are in. They seem to think it is some kind of a joke or gimmick. And yet the truth is... we have no water.

  17. I'm here virtually cooking all weekend!

Posted 9 months ago by SoxsMom #

  18. And I know you are familiar with my love of Italian food! And you nailed two of my favorites: all things lemon and all things seafood. You would make a great party planner!

Posted 9 months ago by Dee #

  19. WWM I put a bucket in the shower with me. That is what has kept my one barrel of flowers alive. It is deadly serious. No animal on Earth can live without water. When you have to go to a store to buy water for your animals beause the well is dry you have a serious problem. I know using the lake is a fix, but for how long if this drought is forcasted to last another year at least.

Dee how about eggs for breakfast! Sunnyside up, poached, over easy, scrambled!! Egg souffle!! I make a wonderful seafood quiche!!

Posted 9 months ago by SoxsMom #

  20. Seafood quiche sounds fantastic, Liz...wow!

  21. In case KK sees this...
Aug 7 is National Lighthouse Day

  22. Not my recipe--got it from allrecipes.com

    http://allrecipes.com/recipe/seafood-quiche-2/detail.aspx

I don't use canned seafood though--use fresh or frozen is much better. I have also used that fake crab meat.

Posted 9 months ago by SoxsMom #

  23. Oh, that looks delicious, SM. I would leave out the piggy...do not eat it...but I bet it would be fantastic with fresh seafood!

Posted 9 months ago by Dee #

  24. I have made it a few times for the church. I love quiche--Mr. SM will not eat it. So I make it somewhere I can take it and eat it!

Posted 9 months ago by SoxsMom #

  25. "Real men don't eat quiche" tee hee

Posted 9 months ago by Dee #

  26. I swear he has never read the book--but I am certain he has heard of it!

  27. When will the nonsense ever stop with lawsuits :(

Well off I go to *that place*, hope everyone has a good night.

  28. Yay! National Lighthouse Day! Thanks for the alert Dee. I just got some lovely salt and pepper shakers in the mail the other day from CM so this is very timely.

  29. AzDeb....that's the first I've heard about that lawsuit. I've never heard such bull**it in my life as that. Those guys should be lucky they aren't in jail & yet they're complaining about having to eat the very pot they were trying to bring over the border illegally? I'm w/you. And what a complete waste of the courts space & time. The laws in this country are really starting to crumble fade. And they're lucky they were left w/their shorts. I wouldn't have been so generous. Off my soapbox now.
