  2. MS peeps into the NS office, all quiet I see. Fills glass at fountain and helps herself to a lobster tail from the fridge and a slice of lemon and lavender pie.
I'll be lurking here for a wee while but having an early night tonight.

  3. Evening Jan, I wish I was having an early night myself. Left early last night because of not feeling well and at least a bit better this evening.

  4. Evening Deb, I'm glad you're a bit better tonight, it sucks monkey toes feeling 'off'.
We've had a cold wet and very windy day today and HRH hasn't been able to decide if she wants to be inside or outside so I spent the day being an automatic door opener for her. Thankfully she is asleep in her basket now.

  5. Jan, well thank goodness she decided you needed a bit of time off from the door opener for her. Was reading about the weather on the North Island and could just feel the chill in the air here in AZ. Was overcast here today with not a drop of rain, I think the 'monsoon' or rather the 'nonsoon' season is nothing but a tease this year.

This is a sad story but it does have a message at the end....

  6. Sounds like the NZ postal system is going about the same as the U.S. postal system.... http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/5403795/Slowest-mail-service-stamped-on

  7. Shadz started the day off badly, waking me by jumping on me and then yakking on the new duvet cover. I had to wash the cover and inner. Thankfully it was nice and windy and wouldn't take too long to dry. Did I say windy? The whole thing almost took off in the wind and ended up popping the pegs off and dragging on the path and then it rained on it when it was almost dry. Finished off drying it in the clothes drier as I felt that was safer. Lets just say HRH Shadz wasn't popular for a while this morning. On top of that there wasn't any bacon for a relaxing Sunday morning treat.
Oh that is a sad story and one that is repeated many times with cats and dogs who have been frightened in some way by all the upheaval of the Chch quake. The message boards still have people looking for their pets and plenty of people looking after 'lost' pets reporting them. It's a good reminder about the 'chipping'. HRH Shadz is chipped.

  8. Jan, I need to get all of mine chipped now. Max, Kinker and Ms. B were all chipped in case something happened to them. Poor HRH's tummy must not have been in the best of shape this morning either. I feel for all those who have lost pets and/or family members that haven't been found yet.

Jcat sorry for missing you, sweet dreams and chin scritches for Libs & Millie.

  14. Morning, ladies, I just watched a DVD of The King's Speech, lovely film!
    Have a great day, AV.

  15. AV, enjoy your day!

Jane, ltns glad that you enjoyed the movie, I haven't actually watched it yet.

  16. Deb, I'm glad you're feeling better too. How's it going with the cpap machine? What do the kitties think of it?

  17. Jane, still working on the *getting used to it* phase and the crew (especially lil girl) likes to touch my face to see what's going on with the mask. How are you doing and Libs & Millie?

  18. If anyone is near a Dairy Queen, on August 11th they are giving a portion of their sales to the Children's Miracle Network.

  19. Deb, Millie is doing fine. Jan gave her a little feathery, woolly white thing on a stick and she is thoroughly enjoying playing with that. We have not been doing quite so well on the toileting front, unfortunately, though I found her a larger, more solid litter tray yesterday and I think that might help.

Poor Libs still coming in for dinner and cuddles and then disappearing again. Tonight, she could take her choice from biscuits, raw meat and wet food and she didn't seem to want any of them :( I hope she has not stopped eating. She is still breaking my heart, silly little one, she should be being boss queen of the whole house, she is my beautiful regal girl.

Posted 9 months ago by jcat #

  20. Jan, :( on Libs, you are so right she should be boss queen and/or loving big sister to little Mills. Hope that the larger, more solid letter tray works for Mills. Did your box get there yet?

  21. Not yet, Deb, all the post is way behind at the moment, I think all the posties are hiding in the post office by the heater and not venturing outside because it's so cold, lol. Well, sorry to leave you but I've just seen it's 1am! and I need to get up early tomorrow too, not as early as MS but early enough. Catching a train into Welly to have lunch with my mum. Hope your time at *that place* flies by tonight, Deb. Awww, I bet the crew love to pat your face whether you're wearing the mask or not ;-). I think I am going to boil the jug for my hot water bottles and make some hot chocolate, brrrrr. Nighty-night, sleep well and sweet dreams when you get home, smooch the Crew for me!

Posted 9 months ago by jcat #

  22. Jane, sleep well and stay warm tonight, have a safe trip and scritches for both Libs and Mills in the morning. I know they like to touch my face to see if I am awake :) Well I do hope that the postal peeps stay warm, as I would for myself. Talk to you tomorrow night or the night after if you are too tired......tell your Mum Hi for me and the crew :)

  23. Deb, the picture of the moose family made me smile; we had moose wander through our property sometimes when I was growing up in Maine.

Posted 9 months ago by Kilroy #

  24. Kilroy, love to see moose families in pictures since that is the only way I have ever really seen them.
