My friends, please send out all the prayers and white light to my Freddie Man...He hasn't eaten in 2 days and everything I have tried to tempt him with, he just won't touch. He seems so thin and I think he is getting worse. It's not his time yet, but I am sure it's coming...I was up at 3:30am last night crying over him..trying to feed him, loving him.Cricket tries to play with him, but right now, he has lost his pep. I hope it's just that he feels blah for now, and will be fine tomorrow or soon but somehow I don't think so.

{{{Fred & CM}}} if possible call your vet and see if they have cyproheptadine 4mg twice a day pills, it helped Ms. B for a bit to get her appetite back. It was given as needed or every twelve hours.

Thank you all.. I read your posts and I tear up again. I am trying to stay strong for my boy. I love him so much.
Leela, George, thank you for your cuddles and hugs...Fred needs them right now.
Deb, thanks for the idea, I will have to call them and see what I can do.Posted 9 months ago by cricketsmama #

I'm sorry Cricketsmama. It's so hard to watch a loved one fade and so hard to know when it's really time. The cyproheptadine worked well for one of our babies before the renal failure won. It's worth a try.

What about scrambled eggs? It's good for him. I know my Jetta girl ate those until the last 24 hours. I scrambled eggs for her a lot.
Continued prayers and white light heading your way.

Thank you all so very much. Fred has nibbled...but just enough to keep a bird alive..not him....buying more tuna today..that seems to be his food of choice currently. He seemed to have perked up a bit today..not much but he acted better...not hiding, meowing at me, talking...so that's a good sign..now if he would eat!...bah...In my heart, I know he will be going to the bridge but I will do what I can to keep him here a bit longer...He will not suffer though...I love him too much to have him suffer. I still have to call the vet about those pills to help him eat...

can I get that at the pet store GD?

CM, you get the nautical paste at the pet store. It worked wonders when we were fattening Glen Jr up. Most cats don't like it though the container always claims cats love it. But he never minded it mixed in his wet food or tuna.
As for the b12, the vet has to give him a shot of it. Milo got a couple when he was a scrawny little thing. It also perks them up a bit.
