  1. Evening littermates, it's a cold snowy night in parts of NZ tonight. KK, Airy and I are cosy and warm with the fire going and a pot of coffee bubbling away on the top. KK wishes she was in Welly as there is plenty of snow falling there and causing chaos on the roads. Jcat could well have snow by the morning.
We're sending heaps of Healing Energy for MC and plenty of gentle hugs too.
Tonight we have a spit roast, lamb & pork. There are roast potatoes and plenty of salads. Lemon meringue pie, Banoffee pie and Key Lime pie with whipped cream and a large bowl of seasonal fresh fruits and berries for dessert. The fountains are flowing so come on in and just ask the Torties in hairnets for whatever you want.

  2. CORRECTION - It IS snowing at Jcat's ! ! !
Unusual for her town and how marvellous !

  3. Yum, yum, MS, that sounds sooooo good, I love roast vegies. We have snow here now! I sent you pix! At about five o'clock, flakes started gently falling outside the window and within half an hour, there was snow all over the road, all over the garden and all over my verandah! I went out (in my PJs and a sweatshirt) to take photos and got snow all over me too. It was amazing! I was in the UK during a particularly snowy winter, and during Paris in another, but that was years ago. I am so excited, hee hee. I hope it is still there tomorrow; it makes everything look so pretty.

My mum in Welly said the snow has been falling all over the native bush that surrounds their house, and on the rhododendron blooms too (yikes!) I do not think my apricot tree, which is also just coming into bloom, will enjoy the snow though.

  4. Hee hee, you beat me to it, MS!

  5. Sending hugs as soft as the kiss of snow but much much warmer to Amy tonight. I hope they are taking good care of our Miracle Kid.

  6. Snow! I love snow if I only have to walk in it and look at it. If I have to drive to work in it I hate it.

Enjoy playing snowballs and making snowmen my NZ friends.

Chuck a gentle soft snowball at Amy. Ice to cool healing wounds is always good, but soft snow is better!

  10. Hi, Deb, I was wondering whether tonight was one of your work nights. It's not snowing any more but there is still quite a lot on the ground. Maybe we will get some more tonight.

  11. Jane, yes I am working four days this week and then have a three day weekend :) How did the review work go for you? I like snow, on tv, postcards, for about 5 mins outside, lol :)

Posted 9 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  12. Hi Deb & Jcat - KK here (too lazy to log MS out and me in). I hope I can get home tomorrow night. I've been looking at photos of the snow that friends have posted on FB - quite amazing. I spoke to miniKK earlier and she was disappointed it hasn't snowed there (yet). Jcat, your photos looked pretty.

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  13. Deb, it went okay, I think, and I also worked on captions for a story and a couple of papers I need to edit. At the moment I'm making raspberry and apple crumbles for the freezer -- cold weather and Sundays always make me want to stock up the larder, lol.

  14. KK, I am not a very good photographer and these were no exception, it looked a lot prettier in the flesh, somehow I'm always slightly blurry, lol. They said tonight that Welly Airport was still open and flights just a bit late but of course who knows what it will be like tomorrow. Have been watching the TV movie on the 1953 disaster at Tangiwai, had great hopes for it but actually am disappointed, it seems a bit bloodless to me and left most of the drama out, yet seemed to be struggling for story. Also a couple of anachronisms in the script which always break the mood for me. Shot beautifully however and looked great.

  15. The raspberry and apple crumbles sound good. I made smoked chicken sausage and egg noodles today and then had strawberry cheesecake ice cream for dessert. Have been living on thin bagels, cream cheese, onion slice and tomatoes lately, good but still light enough to enjoy.

  16. Hey KK, if you try and go home tomorrow, wishing you a safe and warm trip :)

  17. Thinking about snow, when I lived in Heidelberg, Germany many years ago I had a Samoyed (dog). She would leap off the porch nose first into the snow, roll around in it and just play. When we (her and I) would go for a walk in the snow, hmmm she would walk about 1-2 blocks and sit down holding one of her front paws up or rolling over on her back with all four paws waving in the air. She was cold and wasn't going any further, nothing could budge her. I would have to walk back to the house, get my car and drive to where she was to bring her home.....Sammies are *supposed* to be sled dogs, love snow and such, lol!

  18. Thanks Deb. The flying part should be OK - it's more the train trip at the other end I am worried about. The trains are unreliable enough in fine weather! I may not get home until very late tomorrow night - if so I may decide to work from home on the Tuesday.
Can you send some raspberry and apple crumble through the wormhole please, Jcat?

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  19. Hee hee, Deb, did she have you wrapped around her little finger perchance?

Coming right up MS -- oops, I mean KK. *Shoves large portions of raspberry and apple crumble, piping hot, through the wormhole, with yoghurt and cream.*

Posted 9 months ago by jcat #

  20. Jane, yup Happy did, she came from a breeding kennel where they kept her in a kennel for the first four years of her life. They couldn't understand why she wasn't socialized like most Samoyeds are. Took six months to get her to stop low-crawling when I tried to get her to go anywhere even in the house.

KK, I remember about your trains and all the times you have been delayed by their problems.

  21. MS wants to know where hers is now - and she wants dark chocolate shaved over the top.

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  22. I would do whipped cream on top of the raspberry's

Posted 9 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  23. I sent several portions through the wormhole but I'm afraid MS will have to shave her own chocolate over it (chocolate? really?) I'm with Deb on the whipped cream!

Poor Happy, what an appalling start to her life. She's lucky she found you, Deb, and I guess she deserved a bit (actually, quite a lot) of spoiling...

Posted 9 months ago by jcat #

  24. Happy was a good dog, she was spoiled quite a bit actually. She did think she was a lapdog afterwards, all 75 lbs of her :)

Posted 9 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  25. Evening ladies, it's really MS here now. I have wrested the laptop away from KK.
Jcat thanks for the raspberry & apple crumble, mmmmmmmmmm very yummy. I grated my own dark chocolate over the yoghurt.
We're watching Shadz lurk behind the TV hunting for ping pong balls and hoping she doesn't disconnect anything.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww Deb, you were a good Mummy to Happy.
Jcat, do you think the snow will stay overnight?

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  26. Hey there Jan, love the visual of HRH lurking behind the TV :)

Posted 9 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  27. Phew, I'm back. Laptop decided to switch itself off so I had to wait for it to fire up again.
Shadz has been chasing her new toy, a piece of sheepskin on a stick. Airy had her running all around after it.

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  28. Pingpong balls are very important. Miss Millie has been playing with the ones that Deb sent her all day. At night she prefers to play with the white-tipped feathery/sheepskin-y wand thing that MS gave her. If I want to get her out from under anywhere (usually my bed), I just have to wave the wand at her!

I don't know, MS, some of it has melted but some of it is still there. But unless we get some more overnight, I think that might be it for the 'Rapa.

Posted 9 months ago by jcat #

  29. Hate when computers do that! Sounds like Shadz is having fun with the new toy.

Posted 9 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. Glad that Millie likes the pingpong balls and that she enjoys the feathery/sheepskin wand thing. Good that it helps her out from under things.

Oh my eyes are taking a beating tonight, didn't sleep at all before coming in and I can tell it now.
