  1. Yes Rusty hasn't been well for awhile now. Renal failure really sucks!! Please excuse my wording but this is just so hard to do. I don't handle death well under any circumstance but when it's one of my own it devistates me. I guess I just need a hug.

  4. Oh Deb....why didn't you mention this before? I'd have waited on mailing the vinyl to you. I had no idea Rusty was in renal failure. I'm so sorry. You definately don't need this happening in your life. How old is Rusty?
I wish I could do more than send you Prayers & Comfort. I'm still feeling the pain of losing my Winnie & am feeling that hurt for you. It's never easy but,you are doing what you feel best for Rusty & I believe your judgement is spot on. He'll suffer no more pain or discomfort from the renal failure. Just love him like you do,as tho nothing is wrong. And he'll wait in the meadow for you to return one day.
I'll be w/you in Spirit my Friend. Sending you the strongest HUG I can to you & hope it helps you get thru this difficult but necessary decision. You & Rusty are in my Heart & in my Thoughts.

  5. Feral, Rusty has been tring to tell me for awhile now, I just wasn't having it. NO NO NO was all I could think. When he told me again this morning, I had no choice but to listen. We picked him up at the SPCA 4 yrs. ago. While the info there said he was 7 yrs. old, we suspect he is a bit older than that. He has been a wonderful kitty and I will miss him terribly. He's my favorite headbonker, as no one does it better than Rusty! Oh well at least I know he will have HIS Megan to play with again. They were best buds. Snowman, Cheeper, Mini & Katie Will be there as well for him when he finishes with Megan.

  6. Aw Debster, TLC hugs coming your way today for this decision. Purrs, headbonks & sandpaper kisses as reassurance for Rusty from Crockey too. Soon he will be back to purrfect health with all of our special furry family members...

  11. Mama Cat curls next to the Wolf, whose head rests on his dark paws.

    "Waiting for Rusty?"

The Wolf nods, lifts his head, and smiles. "He will enjoy it here so much! Redford has been talking all day about 'another wonderful orangie' and of course the two Jaspers are discussing the expedition to the top of the Tree -- Jiggs and Shaddo want to show him the Brook -- Wilbur and Lucky and Lady are talking about the apple orchard -- Megan is giggling with delight right now with Snowman and Cheeper, Mini, and sweet Katie -- and the list goes on and on."

Mama Cat leans her head against her friend. "His mama will miss him. She's very upset right now."

Again the great head nods. "Of course, and that is so understandable, dear one. He is her darling and she loves him so much. But in a while, the space between my paws will change and shimmer and this Life will begin with Rusty."

"And Rusty will be the darling of the Meadow," murmurs Mama Cat.

The Wolf sighs, watching the leaves of the Tree flutter in the afternoon wind, bright as emeralds.

"Without pain, without sorrow, and the only things he will take with him on his journey are all the love exchanged in his first life -- all the memories of joy and delight -- they come with that sweet boy."

"Oh, he will love it here!"

"And he will see them all, his mama and his brothers and sisters, all of them." His head is lifted in expectation, and he closes his eyes to see Rusty in his mind's eye: whole, healthy, free of pain, and surrounded by friends.

"Yes. He will see them all again."

*Jiggs looks at Shaddo* "Here comes another orangie - I hear his name is Rusty. That's his family with him. I know Megan - she's cute!" *Shaddo sighs* "Let's see," Shaddo muses, "Looks like Cheeper, Snowman, Katie and Mini. Let's go say hi!"
