  1. I still think it's pretty poor of your NS, Kilroy. Bah, humbug! on them.

It's good to hear there are still concerned people around, even in the Big City.

As for Libby -- from your lips to God's ears! Or to Libby's ears! Tomorrow I pick up a second-hand children's gate (Deb's suggestion) to try to separate the two of them so they can look at each other but Millie can't charge Libs like a mad, flailing bull, which is what she usually does.

Well, Millie is fast asleep draped over my arm again and I'm cold so I think I really do need to head to bed with a cup of tea, yum. Sadly, no waffles...
Nighty-night all, have a great day!

Hee hee, Millie just lifted up her head, uttered a piercing miaow, and put her little head down again. I wonder what she's trying to tell me...

  2. Good morning all from sunny brewtown. Another pleasant walk to wurk but my little persian/cat (not pastry!) wasn't in the window today, aww! Mmm a chantilly waffle and a very large cuppa joe would be great! Thanks Dee for the yummy links. (I ususally prefer my waffles as sweet but the chickie one sounds interesting!)Sorry about your topple Kilroy, nice to have a helping hooman around! Paw up waves hi to anyone else still around. Now a smooch for Tux and back for more morning fun, later!

  3. Oh - waffles!!!! Just what I need before I begin my weekly housecleaning chores :-( Somewhere in the depths of my kitchen cabinets lurks a waffle iron. I really should dig that out. And yes, chicken on waffles is a Southern thing!

Today in our newspaper the headline said that by 2012 the agency that controls the distribution of water in this part of West Texas is most likely going to ban ALL outside watering. That will happen unless we have significant rainfall, which isn't looking too likely. *sigh*

Kilroy, so sorry about the tumble but glad that you are okay.

  4. Thanks, WWM. Somehow I've never done any *real* damage with one of my falls, just lots of bruises & owies. It's amazing what your mind has time to think of while you're falling down, though (oh d***, not again, I can't catch myself, oh c**p).

If I could wish a monthlong soaking rain over Texas and other areas that so need it, I would :(

  5. Being a master at falls, usually off of my bike, I totally relate!

Isn't it a shame that the weather can't be redistributed? If only......

  6. Morning my friends :) Waffles sound so very good this morning.

I agree wouldn't it be a good thing if they (being the head honchos, government types) could divert the flooding waters to the drought stricken areas as they do the CAP water from CA, sigh. Couldn't be anymore expensive than some of the perks they give themselves it would seem. But there I go fantasizing once again...

Kilroy, sorry about the poor response from the NS office and your *trip*...

  7. Maybe if they built a really big pipeline????

Posted 9 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  8. You would think that engineers would be able to figure that out, eh WWM? It seems like an easy concept...
If we can pump and move oil/fuel, can't we do the same with water??

  9. Heard that we CAN create weather. It was done during Nam War for US advantage.

  13. Quick update, the creepy crawlies turned out to be flour bugs, so Mr. K is on a tear going through all our cabinets, boxes & bags looking for the source, which is also an excuse for a good cleaning. Me, I'm ready to go back to work for a little peace and quiet :) Glad though, that we didn't have to do any icky spraying. Georgie barely woke up from his 4th nap of the day when the guy was here.

  14. Oyy! You may want to toss all of your boxed perishables. My friend R had those little culprits and got rid of the source along with more bug tempting treats!

  18. Thanks for the info on dealing with creepy crawlies, 12P. We did a gigantic purge/cleaning of the kitchen, which honestly should have been done long ago, and got rid of anything open & anything that we even suspected might be harboring critters. I'm actually pleased because like I said we should have done this long ago, but now it's done. One of our cabinets was an absolute horror movie, though (ewwwwwwwww)

  19. You might want to check your spices as well kilroy. When we had those goggas, they even got into the ground chilli & paprika. Cinnamon stricks. Most of our spices had to go . . .

  20. Good evening, all! Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm upset with Evil Boss Lady, but what else is new - apparently everything that happens at work is my fault! Arrrgh!

At least we've made it to Wednesday night and the weekend is a bit closer - and I'm not dog-sitting for a change. Only about a month and a half till it'll hopefully start cooling down a bit!
Speaking of cooling down, here are my boys cooling down:

  21. Afternoon on this dry afternoon from Tucson, its 107F right now and nearly 5.30 pm. This book looks like it might be decent to read.

    Product Description
In this companion to her successful introduction to cat behavior Think Like a Cat, Pam Johnson-Bennett, the award-winning author and feline behaviorist, shows how adding another cat to your home does not have to be the start of a kitty apocalypse. Although cats are often misunderstood as natural loners, Johnson-Bennett shows how to plan, set up, and maintain a home environment that will help multiple cats—and their owners—live in peace. Cat vs. Cat will help readers understand the importance of territory, the specialized communication cats use to establish relationships and hierarchies, and how to interpret the so-called “bad behavior” that leads so many owners to needless frustration. Offering a wealth of information on how to diffuse tension, prevent squabbles and ambushes, blend two families, or help the elder kitty in your family, Cat vs. Cat is a welcome resource for both seasoned and prospective guardians of cat families large and small.
