Hi Deb! *rushes in carring a tabby in a raincoat* Guess I'm off-kilter - didn't realize I was at the night shift! Just made a bunch of sammies so if/when power goes out I'll pack a cooler. Hatches battened down as best I can - we'll see later how I did!

Ok I have fed the crew, fed the outside feathery ones, cleaned the outside bird baths (yes multiple ones) and have found substance for myself....even put away the few books I got from yard sales this morning...now its time for bed and see if I can fall asleep. May all of you in Irene's way be safe and hang in for the bumpy ride if there is one.

Hope you can get some sleep Deb. I'm thinking about a nap myself; might be a long night. Going to watch the weather and grab a shower just before the big stuff blows in.

Goodmorning Cafe, mid morning here and we just had brunch - bacon & eggs. HRH Shadz always gets the raggy edges of the bacon. She is lying in the sun now digesting it with a smile on her face. We're just putzing around the house.

Hi Kit, I'll join you in that stiff drink if I may, I have a knackered knee and the pain of it gets to me a bit lately. Sorry about your back, I hope it improves. We have a beautiful late winter's day, almost Springlike. HRH Shadz is loving the weather and sprawls outside in the sun all day.

Hey there Jan and Kit :)
Hope that both of you enjoy the stiff drink and that it loosen's up your back Kit and that the pain in your bummed up knee feels a tad bit better Jan.
Made potatoes sliced thin with chicken sausage in the crock pot and waiting for it to be done so I have dinner for this evening :)

Hi Kit! *waiving* Thanks for the ICHC Deb - mine isn't loading on my Yahoo page.
I's raining pretty good now, and the wind is starting to pick up. I'm thinking about a stiff drink too!Posted 9 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Sounds delicious Deb, I haven't even thought of tonight's dinner yet. I think I'll just see what happens, it's Sunday and I'm going to relax.
Hi Joan,(waves) stiff drinks are totally permissible for all pain and worry.Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hi MS - sorry I missed you there. Going for that stiff drink now. *cheers!*

Grrrrr, just lost an auction I really really wanted but won an auction I really wanted. Ah well, you win some, you lose some.
I'm headed off now for a while, Stay safe and dry East coasters, I am thinking of you all.Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

My back is much better with the stiff drink now :) But I hope I post coherently because I made it a bit toooo stiff! Sorry about your knee Jan :( Joan I hope you enjoy your stiff drink as well. The hubs has been laughing at me because I start acting like a big kid lol, I bounce around like a 5 yr old and get silly when I drink. My back feels much better though :)

Hey there Joan, remember you can always send the rain this way (<====== towards TX, NM, AZ), stay safe.
Jan, just wanted potatoes tonight, and love them in crockpot but had forgotten to put in the green beans and of course didn't have any so drove to the store and now they are happily in with the taters. Congrats on the auction won :)
Kit, glad that the back is feeling better after the drink :)

Deb, I soooo wish I could somehow channel this water to you. Seems so wrong, doesn't it - floods at one part of the country and droughts in another.
Hey Kit? Acting like a big kid keeps you young - so keep it up!
Jan, could you ship some bacon and eggs thru the wormhole in about 11-12 hours? I won't make anything that involves real dishes when there is a good possibility of a power outage. Dirty dishes in the sink when there is no power is a pet peeve of mine!Posted 9 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #
-
Joan, smart on the no dirty dishes in the sink if the power goes out. I do wish that the gurus in charge would figure out how to pipe in water where its needed.
This lil kitty would be smart to stay inside...

Cute pic! My L & C now have collars on. There's no id, but they are microchipped and if there's a problem, at least they are a bit more identifyable. Comet has never worn a collar. Suddenly the thing with the bell that he thought was a fun toy is on him and he can't reach it! He can pick on Leela, however, because she jingles too!

Joan, how funny! The only one in the house that keeps her collar on is Little Girl, initially put it on her because she would sneak up on Ms. B when she was younger and the bell warned B. I need to get them all micro-chipped and then try the collars on all of them again.

Joan, I'll send the bacon & eggs through the wormhole in another 6 hours. I'll make sure they are on disposable plates so no dishes. Would you like tost of bagel with them? Hang tight until then.

Evening Jan, watching the storm just hanging out on the Eastern seaboard now. Will open the new Cafe I guess in a bit. So how was your dinner?
Posted 9 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #
-
Delicious - because I didn't cook it. I had pork roast and Mr MS had lamb with accompanying roast veges. HRH got to lick the containers clean of gravy. Her tummy now has a happy and she is asleep upstairs.
Not much coming through on Irene at the moment, hopefully that is good.Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Dinner sounds good for all of you :) My crockpot potatoes, chicken sausage, and green beans turned out pretty well too.
From what we are seeing of Irene on CNN, lots of water, high waves, winds of course but not as much as I would think from a hurricane....maybe I am just out of touch on hurricanes though.

Wow Phoenix is getting hit with a lot of big dust storms this year...

Sorry, visitors popped in. LOL at the hummingbird with the grumps.
Wow, Phoenix is certainly copping it this year. All I can think is they just get all the sand cleared away and another haboob rolls in and it's back to cleaning again.Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Typical here in AZ, dust and then open the door for more dust to come in :) Yes the little hummingbird is sure being a butthead and to think I have planted bushes just for them and the butterflies, lol!
