  1. I am here with Spice, Bronson, and Melinda. I am making sandwiches, hot and cold, and burgers. Just simple things tonight. Vegetable salads and fresh fruit salads. the kitties will be your servers. All beverages, hot and cold, are being served. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic too.

it's been a busy day for everyone, so this cafe is a quiet one tonight...

what may we serve you ???

  2. Evening CSBM, I will just sit over here with one of the kitties while sipping on a cold glass of water w/lime slices in it :) Need to relax some before going into *that place* tonight.

  3. Evening ladies. I think I had as littlesleep last night as our TDK members hunkering down from Irene. I'm so glad the worst is over for them all.
I ate a late luch so not too hungry. But, I could really go for some ice cold watermelon chunks. And a nice cold Hard Lemonade to mellow me.

  4. Evening all, having a chilly overcast day here so I've been sitting by the fire. Just popping in to say Hi and I'll be back later.
I'll just grab some fruit from the table and a drink from the fountain to assist me getting the dinner prepared.

  5. Hi all. Just heard from Airy that she had a nice beach walk. Think she, MrKK and miniKK are coming into town to meet me and go to movies. MrKK is off overseas tomorrow so I hope he has packed his bag today!

  7. Dinner prepared, meat balls in a tomato/parmesan sauce with spaghetti and vegetables. Wouldn't you know it, I'm out of dry spaghetti, have asked Mr MS to get some on the way home from work. I described what I need and even the brand and which aisle, now I wait nervously to see exactly what he brings back. It's only a simple job but it's the simple ones that stump the men sometimes.

  8. OMG, MS. I could write a book on that topic. I think Tom purposely picks up the wrong thing just so I never ask him again. I have sent the picture of the product to his blackberry...and he still comes home with the wrong item.

  9. LOL, I hadn't thought of sending the picture but I think if I do Mr MS will get grumpy and think I thought he would get the wrong item. As if! ! !

  10. I once gave mine a list on which it said (among other things) "Leg of lamb for Sunday lunch". He came back and said "There was no lamb in the supermarket" (Highly unlikely but never mind). I said "What did you get instead?" "You didn't write down get something instead, so I didn't get anything".

  11. ROTFL @ Mr PM and shaking head.
Mr MS is home and EMPTY HANDED! ! He claims he didn't feel/hear the txt I sent. So we are having the last of a packet of egg noodles and vermicelli mixed together but cooked at different times. I'm having to increase the veges to make up for the lack of pasta! !
I did hope for more but I'm not at all surprised. Guess I should have remembered to buy the spaghetti on shopping day.

  12. MEN! You know the tone of voice. Enjoy your not-spaghetti!

  13. See that's where I have a confusing situation. My mom is horrible at getting things from the stores, but my stepdad is the worlds best 'gopher'. However my bf is TERRIBLE at getting g things from the store. Haha

  14. In their later life my Dad did all the shopping (something my Mum hated), but she had to write the list and he rarely deviated from exactly what was on the list. If it wasn't on the list, he didn't buy it. Eventually, he did learn to replace non-available items with similar substitutes (eg "There was no plain white toilet paper, so I got .... Is that OK?")

  15. I have to share my "Tom and the diet soda" story with you.

He had to get something for the computer from Wal Mart. I asked him to get me some diet soda...any kind...I am not picky. He returns from Wal Mart and I notice that he does not have any diet soda.

Me: Where is the diet soda?
    Tom: They didn't have any.
Me: *HUGE eye roll* They didn't have any? Wal Mart never runs out of diet soda. It's a huge warehouse store!
Tom: Well, they must have run out.
Me: You should have just said that you forgot to get it instead of saying that they ran out.
    *gives Tom the stinkeye*

And the best part of this story is that, wait for it, HE ACTUALLY USED THAT SAME EXACT EXCUSE A COUPLE MONTHS LATER!
    Sorry, ladies. He's all mine...hahaha!

  16. That's all right Dee, I have one of my own!

  17. Thank you ladies for making me laugh!!! Reading about the *lists* sent with husbands and/or significant others just gets to my heart! I do like the idea of pictures :) I always figured *lists* were like washing clothes, if one puts all the clothes in a load of wash and it screws up all the clothes.....the person who did that would NEVER be asked to do it again....not in my house, they would just do their own clothes.

  18. Ooohhh AzDeb.....those kitty links need a COA warning. I melted over several of them.

Posted 9 months ago by feral #

  19. Feral, they do that to me all the time also.

  20. Evening Deb and Feral. Love the kitty & golden retrieves story but I must protest the George and his gingerness one, he would be quite welcome with this family.
Just relaxing watching TV at the moment. Will pop in and out during the evening.

  21. Remember, MS...once you gone ginge, you can't go back.

Posted 9 months ago by Dee #

  22. LOL, that's KK and me stuck for life then!

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  23. Jan, the Ginger would be very welcome @ my house too....since 3 out of 4 now are all orangies, there is a majority!

  24. So the latest on the power issues on the East Coast is that ti may be awhile for some to get their power restored.

  26. How cool tobe a part of the planting Deb. Now, if they could find a way to transport some of the flood waters from the east coast to the west, they'd never have to worry about watering again.
And I feel so bad for the eastcoasters & their power outage. I'd go berserk around here w/out electricity for that long. I've done alot of camping in my time & am pretty resourceful but, going for weeks w/out it would be the death of my sanity.

Posted 9 months ago by feral #

  27. I feel sorry for those without power for more than a day or two. Having heard stories here after the quakes of areas without power for weeks and how difficult it was for people those on the East coast have my sympathy.
Wow, that is quite a job planting all those plants. I hope Mother Nature smiles on them this time.

    Posted 9 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  28. Speaking of electricity. I just looked at the computer clock. Gasp!! It's after 3 a.m. I'm off to bed. Hope I get at least a couple hrs. sleep. And even w/that,I'll be a mess tomorrow for trying to get anything done. Good night ladies & as they say....see ya on the flip side.

Posted 9 months ago by feral #

  29. G'night Feral, sleep well :)

On the planting, I am sure that the long-nose bats will really enjoy being able to find a ready food source.
