Morning/evening, shifters!
Didn't get much sleep myself. The a/c at my place is now completely broken and it was 90 degrees in my place overnight. I think I probably managed to sleep two hours total. I even tried sleeping on the tile floor on the boys' Hyperkewl mat. It was too uncomfortable, but cooled me down enough that I managed to go back to bed and sleep for a little bit.
I've had enough of the place. I'll be moving out over the next couple of days. I haven't found a place yet, but want to move out of mine before having to spend money on another month's rent there. The landlord isn't fixing the a/c and he hasn't fixed my shower which hasn't worked right for months, so I'm out of there.
I'm moving my stuff to XBF's for the time being, myself and the boys included if I don't find something by Wednesday. He says we can stay as long as we need, so that makes things a lot easier.
Anyway - how about some crossed fingers I'll be able to find something today? -
Evening/morning GD, excues the typing, I have my fingers crossed for you. Sorry that you couldn't get much sleep. The boys were so wonderful sharing their cooling mats with you. That sucks monkey toes that the landlord won't do repairs and I can understand you wanting to move. The boys will miss the ducks though.

I'm actually seeing a place this afternoon that (very uncharasteristically for this area) supposedly comes with neighbors that are horses, cows, armadillos and rabbits - at least that's what the ad said! I'm pretty sure the boys would enjoy that!
The biggest reason I have to get out is I'm really worried about the boys living in heat like that. At least I stay over at dog-sitting houses or GG's sometimes, but the poor boys are there all the time. The last few days I've been wiping them down with wet washcloths to try to keep them cool. -
Fingers crossed for you to find an excellent place with a/c and a shower that works, plus at a decent price. You and Mi will miss the ducks sad to say. If it is as hot tonight, put the hyerkewl mat on your pillow and see if you can sleep better that way.

It would be kewl if you could take a couple of the ducks. I understand about not wanting to take the mat away from the boys, the only other option would be to get another one for you.

Time for me to head off to bed. HRH is asleep in her basket and Airy has just IM'd me that Ringo is sitting staring at her as she sits in bed. Guess she will have a cat with her soon.

Nighty-night, Jan, sorry I missed you again, was tidying the kitchen after City Homicide and feeding Libs and making myself a hot chocolate (I bought marshmallows!) and now I'm drinking it before I toddle off. Sleep well and sweet dreams. Evening Deb, hi, GD, GD I'm so glad you're looking for another place, hope you find a fantastic one. WITH air-conditioning and a working shower. That's cool of GG to tell you to stay at his as long as you need to, takes the pressure off.

Well, Jcat, the kicker is that I'm not staying at GG's, but at XBF's! He offered - GG didn't! And I don't think it would work bringing the boys to his house with Glen there since they've never been introduced.
Deb, I have a couple of other places lined up that I will go look at if this one doesn't.

Eek, GD, sorry, I completely misread that bit. I was wondering how the boys would get on with Glen. You haven't mentioned XBF for a while but I'm glad he's still around, he always seems to be such a good friend to you.

Had to laugh about the lists. With me, I'm the klutz. My mother and my brother have to make these very detailed lists or I will come back with the wrong thing, or nothing. The no diet soda at walmart doesn't suprise me in the least because I've been known to do exactly that! I remember once receiving this huge lecture on the difference between evaporated milk and condensed milk. I now know they are NOT interchangable! Sheesh! Even my scientific reasoning that both terms mean they've had water removed, didn't save my hide that time.
Wowzer, I've been watching on tv all the damage Irene left. It may not have the death toll of Katrina but the widespread destruction sure will exceed that one. It is hard to take in.

Oh boy! Just got home and am looking around my place wondering how in the world I have ended up with so much stuff! I want to have a garage sale with Auntie Ellen in a few weeks and sell some stuff to help the wallet a bit, so everything will have to come - good thing XBF has a large garage!

GD...Wanted to add my 'Best of Luck' as well for your looking for a new place. I think it will do you & the boys a world of good to start anew. And you deserve something going right for you!
I think I actually got some sleep,even going to bed at 3 am. I've been hella busy with shelling almonds a friend gave me from their orchard. Neither really eat them. I'm almost finished but, my figers & thumbs were done along time ago w/blisters.
AzDeb....hope you got home safely. Now on w/my day. Of course,it starts w/TDK. :)
