The TDK get-together made a permanent impression on me & I think about you alot as well. For now,I have to give my fingers a break. Been shelling almonds for 3 days. Almost done.

@ AZDEB & Feral.... You should give the clothespin "trick" a try for nail clipping. It only takes one person to nail clip using the method. If you are concerned about clipping down too far(the pink part), just snip the tips, and do so every couple of weeks. To refresh.........you will need 2-3 wooden clip style clothespins. Pull up the scruff and clip. I only need two for my kits, as it makes them a pile of putty, just long enough to get the job done. I also use the clothespins when doing a flea treatment, eye/ear washing, or anytime I need them to be still for certain procedures.

Yes I agree, many hours of stink eye to the putz who hurt her and others.
Her name attracted me first, I love Weebles from the Fisher Price toys. Her gentle soul just sucked me in after that :)

Goodmorning all, just popping in briefly. I was woken by my bed shaking and lots of rattling this morning and then Shadz leaping onto me.
Quake! Oh great, it's really not a good way to wake up but the kitty cuddles I got were lovely. 4.4 and Shadz was a bit freaked by it but lots of Mummy cuddles and she was fine. Been several more since but I didn't feel those.

..... Hello friends!.... back from the 'tour de south Florida'....... didn't have internet, so havent' checked in (did anyone miss me?... probably not!).... but it looks like much has happened!....
... GD, good luck with the move, I'll have to read back posts to see what/why that is happening, and I was SO close to you, but for the life of me, MIL and "Bob" were on this 'tour-guide mission, that truly didn't leave Mr. AV and I ANY time to 'do our own thing'.... but I wouldn't have traded it for the world!.... they are both such special people and I love them so much!...it meant alot for them to be able to show us 'their side' of Miami!.... it was really fun!....... really tiring, and we drove home in all RAIN today!.... oh, I guess the tutu is feeling 'neglected'......
anyway, glad to be home, and I missed you all!... (((Huggs)))

Hi people! No luck with the place today - would have been too easy, right? The place was only a few miles from where I live now, which is my favorite part of town (an unfortunately much more expensive than the rest of town because it's all newer construction). However, this place was out on a farm bordering the Everglades and I had to drive up and down countless dirt roads to get there. The shocks on my car are already broken and having to drive up and down those roads every day would have most certainly resulted in some major car repair bills - not worth it. And while the ad mentioned rabbits and horses as "neighbors", I'm sure neighbors would also include alligators, snakes and huge iguanas. I'm hoping to find a place with some outdoor space for the boys, and I'm sure not going to let them outside with neighbors like those!
I have two other places I'm going to call tomorrow and hopefully look at soon. I told XBF the boys and I are moving in on Wednesday - doesn't give me a lot of time to pack and move, but I'll manage.

I just had enough of my place, MC. The a/c went out the other day - the Chinese lady living in the main house (landlord's MIL) rarely turns it on - it's set to 85 or something. So it's always hot in my place. I asked my landlord for a window unit last month and he said he'd make sure his MIL turned on the a/c instead - which I know she won't. Well, the other day, the a/c broke and temps in my place hit the 90s - and still LL was taking his turn fixing it. My shower is also broken and he hasn't fixed that - thank goodness I work at a gym and have a membership to a gym up the street from me so I can shower there!
Anyway, it was so hot over the weekend, I finally had enough!I have been thinking about finding another place, but I finally had it! XBF had offered when I complained about the ac that I (and the cats) could come stay with him for a while until I find something else.
I don't want to pay another month's rent in a place with no shower and no ac, so now I'm trying to move out before the first. I'm moving my stuff in shifts to XBF's and told him we'll stay there starting Wednesay (I have a long weekend of dog-sitting so the boys will have to hang with him, but I'll come visit, too). Meanwhile I'm hunting for a place - hoping maybe to find something and move in mid-month. So cross those fingers! -
GD, that is HORRIBLE! I understand why you and the boys are moving. Yay to XBF for allowing you to come stay there. You guys will definitely sleep better and be more comfortable when you have consistent a/c not to mention a real working shower. Sorry to hear you have to get out so quickly but sounds like you have a plan. Me and the girls will cross our fingers, toes, and paws!

GD, most states have laws stipulating certain basics such as a working bathroom, including bath and/or shower. Do you have a formal written lease on this place you are leaving? I should think you should be entitled to a major refund on the rent you've paid for those months when you have not had the full amenities -- i.e. working shower and a/c -- you are paying for in your rent.
