  1. Looking in to find everyone seems to be either asleep or otherwise busy :)

This is a short list tonight, the eyes are itching like crazy...

  2. Evening Deb, I'm here for a wee while before heading to bed. I'm yawning heaps here.
Love the story with Whiskers, and the story of Jacob & Ezzy is just wonderful.
    LOL at the nip cheezburger.

  3. Evening, Deb and MS, I'm just here for a bit until City Homicide. Went to the Sally Army shop today and scored three beautiful Royal Doulton 1950s grey and white cups and saucers ($6) and four matching bread and butter plates ($8). They will do very nicely for when the ladies of the Dolls and Bears Club come round to tea in October (aargh! I have already asked for the WEEK off beforehand so I can get everything tidy and ready and sorted out and baked. Yes, it takes me that long to sort myself out for social occasions chez moi, lol.)
Sorry to hear about Ruby, hope the little minx turns up soon.

  4. Sorry about your eyes too, Deb. I have started sneezing lately -- must be spring and time for the antihistamine tablets, lol.

  5. Hi Jcat, how are you this evening? It's a very warm night up here, still in double figures outside.
Speaking of dolls, the hand cuffs auction finishes tomorrow early evening, they would look so great on the dolls bedside table or hanging off the headboard and I'm sure the ladies of the D&B club will get such a laugh when they spot them.
I'm going to miss City Homicide tonight, just too darn tired to stay awake.

  6. Jcat, things up here have a fine coating of yellow pine pollen and when it rains the puddles have yellow around the edges. Thankfully so far it hasn't caused me any problems. (touchwood)
Deb, sorry about the itchy eyes.

  7. It's warm here too, MS. I'm hoping that's the reason Libs has been outside this evening and not in by the fire. She and Mills had a wee meeting last night, Mills followed her up to the kitchen (I'd left the door open) and I rushed in but instead of disappearing as she normally does, Libs just shifted a bit and carried on calmly eating her food. BREAKTHROUGH! And Mills didn't charge her but just made little friendly mewing noises like a questionmark.

But today they met again in the corridor and I think Libs whapped Millie and then split. I hope she comes back in some time tonight.

MS, Deb has promised me my very own pair of miniature handcuffs, lol. Sorry you'll miss CH – they shouldn't put the only decent programmes on so late.

Ah, pine pollen. That probably explains it. It was actually hot and sunny here today. Hmmm, I think you may have a funny idea of what we get up to at the Dolls and Bears club, lol. Scoffing a really good afternoon tea is my idea of a good meeting :D !

  8. Oops, nearly time to watch mayhem in a large Australian city... catch you later, Debs. MS, sleep well and sweet dreams, hope Ruby turns up soon. Scritches to Miss Shadz.

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  9. And when they have that shocked look on their face Jcat that's when you just give an enigmatic smile. I think it would be so funny and you could become a woman of mystery in their eyes.

    Posted 8 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  10. Sweet dreams Jcat and Deb sorry I missed you this evening and sweet dreams for you too. Headbonks for Libs and Millie and The Crew.

  11. Evening ladies :)

Jan, Ruby has disappeared? Hope that you get some good quality sleep this evening, scritches to Ms. Shadz in the morning.

Jane, what a find with the cups, saucers and bread & butter plates :) Libs may just be resigning herself to the fact that little Mills isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Allergies are driving me nutty the last two days, none of the nasal sprays or meds have helped much. Before I left tonight, Kitty was staring out in the backyard....the neighbor's black cat was in the backyard catching bugs, lol.

Posted 8 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  12. Morning everyone!.......... Deb - local honey for the allergies. Take a teaspoon full every morning...... it takes time, but will build up antibodies in your system.........

..... wow! progress with Libby and Millie!..... every meeting will make the next easier - scritches to both!

.... MS, did I read that Ruby is missing???!!!! hoping she returns soon!

  13. Morning AV :) I bought honey today for just that reason, like minds!

Posted 8 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  14. Good Deb, I hope it works for you....... I really have noticed my resistance is much higher when I'm doing my 'honey thing'.......

...... sorry to post and run, but I'm packing to go to the beach today, have a great everning Jan and Jane, and a good day, Deb!....... will see everyone later on!

Posted 8 months ago by AV #

  15. AV, enjoy the beach and walk in the waves for me, I miss the beach so much...

Posted 8 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  16. Have a lovely day at the beach, AV. Hi, Deb, I'm back again for a bit. Still no sign of Libs.

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  17. Jane, awwww I hope that she comes in soon.

Posted 8 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  18. Me too but I'm sure she will. Are they working you hard this evening?

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  19. Not really hard, a little annoying but that is inside and not the guys out wandering the desert. How was your day?

Posted 8 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  20. Great, thanks, Deb, hot and sunny here, and I got those lovely cups and saucers at the op shop. Did some work. Happy about Libs and Millie seemingly getting along a bit better and Libs spending time inside. I go into Welly on Friday to have lunch with friends and get my new contact lenses. Everything's good at the moment. It's bound to turn into custard soon, lol.

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  21. Well, sorry to disappear but I'm off to bed. Nighty-night Deb, sleep well and sweet dreams when you get home, scritches to the crew.

Everyone else have a great Monday!

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  22. G'night Jane, sleep well and stay warm, have sweet dreams and may Libs come inside to lie in the warmth and scritches for both girls in the morning.

Hope that everyone has a good day, I am going to sign off as its about that time :)

  23. Morning, all. Another day in terrible pain. Just want some answers. Gonna go throw my casserole together that I started last night and put it in the oven. Going to add whole wheat macaroni and also some black and red beans to up the protein count. I'll also post a separate thread asking this, in case it gets missed in the cafe, but can cooked pasta be frozen? I'm making a lot of this stuff and would like to freeze it, but I can also freeze some without the pasta and add that when I defrost.

  24. {{{JBBM}}} I'm so sorry you're hurting. Hurting sucks, there's no other way to say it.

To answer your question, yes, cooked pasta can be frozen. It sometimes gets a little mushy when you defrost it, but I freeze lasagne all the time & the noodles survive just fine as long as I don't defrost/cook it in the microwave.

Posted 8 months ago by Kilroy #

  25. Thanks, Kilroy. Yes, it sure does suck monkey toes!

I'm off to cook my noodles and get my casserole together. I forgot about lasagne (ooh, my Mom made the best lasagne, delicious hot or cold). That's the one thing I like about Fall/Winter, casseroles and hot, delicious food :)

Posted 8 months ago by Jetta and Boo Boo's Mom #

  26. BTW, Kilroy, how is your head these days?

Posted 8 months ago by Jetta and Boo Boo's Mom #

  27. Right at this very moment it's pretty bad (like a 6 on a 1-10 scale, which still beats a 12 :) ) Thanks for asking.

I agree about winter and yummy satisfying food. The best salad in the world has nothing on a good beef stew :) Speaking of which, I made green chile stew last night; unfortunately it didn't come out as well as it usually does, blah. Half the potatoes were still hard after it had been cooking for hours (and they were cut up really small).

Grey and overcast day here but still no sign of Monsoon peeking out like it should be, rather its Nonsoon in my part of Tucson. Was flipping thru channels to see what was on the tube, really nothing that I like, can't watch Tennis and don't want to watch reality shows. Oh well will find something else to do or go back to sleep, who knows.
