  1. ...but hopefully caught it in time - apparently a URI. The sneezing fits and nasal congestion just started this morning. She got an antibiotic injection that's supposed to last 2 weeks; I will look for improvement within 24-48 hours. (So far no sneezing since we've been home!)

  11. (((leela)))
Fred comes through the wormhole to snuggle with his Leela girl. He is so protective of her and hates when she is sick. Cricket comes too so she can bring her tissues and soup.

  13. Hermes will come and visit Leela while she's not feeling well. If she's cold at all, he'll snuggle right up, his little furnace will keep them both warm!

Poor Leela! I hope she's better soon Joan. Good for you for noticing so quickly, I'm sure that's a good thing, before it could get worse.

  15. She was at my side all night. I heard just 1 sneeze last night and 1 this morning. A bit of nasal discharge but it's clear. She ate last night which tells me she can smell her food. I learned from last time - don't wait!
She is so happy and thankful that she has such caring friends to wish her well and friends who also come thru the wormhole to comfort her!
She had a distinct lonely look when I had to leave her. I'm in for a long day, but hope to get home not too late. Hopefully she will get lots of rest and stay warm. Comet will be there for comic relief!

  23. Leela says "thank you" through a not so stuffy nose. I wonder if I jumped the gun by bringing her to the vet, but I thought if I waited till she refused to eat, we could possibly be back to where we were last fall.
I don't know what's making her sick. The term "healthy carrier" came up, as it did last time, making Comet the possible culprit. She was super-stressed by him when he arrived, though, and we all know stress whacks out our immune system. Iim thinking it's a possibility that since I keep coming home smelling like flood, she could have picked something up that way.
Sigh, I don't know. The good news is that there have been no sneezing fits and no discolored nasal discharge. Fingers and paws crossed that I can give a good report to her very nice doctor on Monday!

  24. Joan, maybe start giving her lysine to help her immune system. We five it to Glen every day.

  25. How is she doing this morning, Joan?

Posted 8 months ago by Jetta and Boo Boo's Mom #

  26. Yes how is our sickie? My girls are coming over to sit with her today

    Posted 8 months ago by mollycat71 #

  27. Leela is enjoying her visitors (the wormhole has a magic way of destroying any contagious germs). I've only heard a couple of sneezes, and her nose just looks wet, not discolored. She continues to stay close to me, and even better, keeps showing me to her food! I'm certain she feels better because of her well-wishing friends and visitors. Oh, and I guess the antibiotic injection is helping too :)

  28. Nothing like the love of her TDK Littermates to help her feel better (ok & MAYBE the anti-biotic)

    Posted 8 months ago by mollycat71 #

  29. I'm glad to hear the meds are kicking in for little Leela. Get all better soon sweety so you can romp & stomp & play like before.

  30. Looks like taking her to the vet immediately is paying off. Sometimes 'jumping the gun' really is the right thing to do.
