We are continuing the Macedonian Indepence Day Celebration into the NS. Being part Macedonian I would like to welcome you! We have all the tasty treats, including my fav, Baklava on the buffet. The menu is richly influenced by Greece as Macedonia was part of the country at one time, there is a strong Medeterranean touch as well. Turkish coffee is brewing and wine is all around! Come celebrate!

What a sad story that I just read on FB, the kitty's owner died and her son wants to shoot the cat :( There were pictures which made her look like my Ms. B.
LIZZIE’s STORY: This is Lizzie, a stunning, beautiful 13 yr. old declawed, long haired girl. Her mom, Angel, recently passed away. The son hurriedly sold the house and wants nothing to do with Lizzie. As a matter of fact, he is a hunter and has threatened many times to shoot the cat. He seriously wants to kill her. That is another issue in itself, but we need to focus on Lizzie. A young family friend who is painfully aware of the son's desire to kill Lizzie, took her to her apt. complex and put her in a cage in the common laundry area. She cannot take her in her apt. as her baby is severely allergic. However, this is a common laundry area, where people who live in the complex go in and out and do their laundry. When the landlord found out about this, he hit the roof. Lizzie has 3 days or else.... It is said that Lizzie doesn't like kids....but that is being told because the deceased owner's grandkids would come over and more than likely try to play rough with her and she didn't like that. She is used to being an only cat with a single, older owner in a quiet home. This is not to say she might not adjust to other cats, animals, or even children....who knows? She's never been presented with that scenario. Her vetting history is unclear, but due to the fact that she has been declawed, she has clearly seen a vet at some point in her life. Otherwise she appears in great health with a good appetite. This plea originally went to The Angels of Animals, but they are currently severely overwhelmed due to a very recent rescue effort of 22 kittens. However, serious inquiries can contact Amy Kozell at: amy@angelsofanimals.org This is Lizzie. She is currently in Belleville, NJ.

Finally Friday!!! I need the weekend (although I'm visiting family this weekend and kind of not looking forward to the drive 5 hours each way. I have a feeling I'll mostly just be doing homework there and not have a lot of time to visit but I really wanted to go by and say hello)

Hi Gini and Deb. Gini safe trip and have a great visit.
Deb, is there much trouble with the power outage in AZ? Been reading about it here.Posted 8 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Jan, not here there isn't, must have been somewhere else in AZ. I will have to look and see where it is. So how was your day besides watching the opening games?
Ok on the power outage it was the other side of the state involving Yuma (KW's Dad lives in that area) and the San Diego area....they all use the company APS for their electricity.
http://news.yahoo.com/outage-affects-millions-southwest-mexico-060548832.html
The outage extended into southern Orange County, across California's inland deserts, as far east as Yuma, Ariz., and into Mexico, where officials said power was out in northern Baja California's two biggest cities, home to roughly 2.5 million people. The region is home to some 6 million people, though it was impossible to say exactly how many had lost power.

Airy and I had a busy day washing and then hunting down rental DVD's of Dr Who. She has gone away to have a Dr Who marathon with friends, This afternoon we made several loaves of monkey bread and then cinnamon/chocolate scrolls for her to take with her. Tomorrow morning I am going to help Meegz make a new tiered garden in a small sloping awkward corner. She will make it her herb garden. It's in a silly spot that they didn't know what to do with until I suggested a tiered box garden. Silly me, now I'm helping her build it and bitumen the wall so prevent moisture soaking into the wall.
