    This just sucks. I'm so sorry. She was a little fighter and you were her mommy/doctor/protector. I am so sorry she did not make it, but she had a happy little life.

    You have all been so kind and thoughtful and I appreciate it so much. I am ok, not great but ok. I am sad and missing the little baby. The house seems empty which is really odd. I have the 3 "outside that are now inside" kittens. Owen, Walter and Scout who are thriving and being such kittens. I do think that we are almost out of the eye infection zone. Of course T-Do and Hadley are supervising everything. T-Do keeps getting on the counter looking for the little baby in her container. I am sure that we will all be fine but my heart is heavy. Random tears appear without warning. I wish she could have lived. She would have been an outstanding kit. Again, the comfort and kind words have been wonderful and I do thank you so very much.

    Between the paws of the Wolf are a cat and a kitten, and he and Mama Cat watch them, quiet joy on their faces.

    Wilbur, nestled into the soft sweet grass, wraps himself around the young kitten and smiles in his sleep. The kitten is larger than she was on earth so that in the Meadow she can run with The Kitten Pack, climb trees, play in the mint beds, and do everything else that small cats love to do.

    Later this morning she will learn to paddle in the Brook, dabbing at the froth on the water. O, the butterflies she will stalk! Wilbur will show her the hedge-rows, Chester will explain all about the fishies, and Redford and the orange lads are planning a visit to the lavender beds with the entire Kitten Pack.

    But for this sweet moment in time, she is happy to sleep next to her darling friend Wilbur. Little dreams about her mama, her face, her kind hands. Little knows that she and Wilbur will see that precious face again.

    Warm and loved in life, Little is healthy and whole in the Meadow, with Wilbur, Mama Cat, and the great Wolf of Gubbio.

    And they all love her dearly in this Life after life.
