Lazy Sunday Night NS, 18 Sept 11

(45 posts)
  1. Hi Everybody, pretty lowkey here tonight in the NS. It's the last Sunday of Summer and the kits are taking it easy. The salad bar and soup bars are set up and you can get whatever your heart desires at the bar.

The kits have also pulled out the big fluffy pillows and soft blankets. The fire is lit but the windows are open. A cool breeze comes in and you feel so cozy under a blanket. I am having some chili with onions, extra beans, and chees with a side of cornbread and a diet Mt. Dew.

Come on in and join us! The grill master Tuxie can make you whatever your tummy desires.

  2. .... Hey MC!... thanks for opening a great NS!...... I'm lowkey too, as in 'I'm exhausted'........ glad to be somewhat 'back to normal', but still on pins and needles for Dau and BF to the 'conversation' tomorrow when he gets home!......
..... you are such an amazing person, with the big 'walk' and all you do.... I hope you're taking care of yourself, and are doing well! (((((huggs))))).... and BTW..... thanks for doing the Christmas list AGAIN!!!...... I need to start doing my cards, like tomrrow, or I'll be behind! (guilt)

  4. Hi Ladies....I'll take a nice crisp salad if I may. Hope it has cucumbers in it. For some odd reason (maybe another thread) I'm craving cucumbers. lol.

ConCATulations again MC on a Walk-a-thon for Chiari well done. I wore my purple yesterday & thought of you often.

AV...I definately missed something. Are your Dau & BF alright? I hope so. And I'm sorry for not being able to keep up w/all that is happening on TDK. My mind & time has been on Hopper & Naughtyboy. Naughty has such extreme skin allergies I'm trying to find what's causing in it. Futile ,it is.

Have a nice evening ladies. I'm going to bring in the kibble from outdoors so the raccoons don't get it & then it's relax time for the night. Another weekend gone in a flash.

Just off to shell the prawns for our seafood gumbo with chorizo for dinner. I bet HRH will like the aroma soon.
    Back later on.

  7. Cool, rainy, early autumn night here in StL. Been raining more or less steadily for the past two days. We need the rain and it has been the soaking kind so it is welcome.

Had chicken, long grain and wild rice, black-eyed peas, and salad for supper. Ate too much. Got plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

Got the litter trays changed a day early so I don't have to deal with that chore tomorrow evening ahead of putting out the trash for Tuesday a.m. pick up.

Have been making cornbread with a different brand of corn meal lately and getting good results. But made the mistake last shopping trip of buying the brand we'd used all my life until recently. Made a batch of cornbread and it isn't nearly as good as what I've been getting from the brand I had switched to. So, back to the new version next shopping trip!

About ready to make sure kitties have fresh water and food for the night, police their trays and go curl up for a good night's sleep.

Happy slumbers to all on the sleep side of the night and happy wide awake to all on the day side of the world.

    God bless.

  10. Phew! Delicious seafood gumbo dinner, a bit hot but that's the chorizo for you. We shouldn't have lit the fire as now we're hot inside and outside!
Off to watch TV and try and cool down.

  11. Evening Deb, aren't Tonto and his brother gorgeous looking. What a familiar story,Mum returning to Australia and the nice neighbour adopted the cats. Hmmmm, that's is exactly how we were acquired by our previous cat Sharp.
LOL, love the cat & the torn curtain.
How's w**k tonight, hopefully calm. Are you feeling any better than the other day?

  12. Evening Jan, I liked Tonto and his brother too and the torn curtain & kitty was cute! Feeling a bit better then the other day but still not really well.

  15. Hi Jcat, I thought something was missing when I checked what was on this evening. Guess I'll watch Army Wives on TV2.

  18. Jane, no worries, I spend so much time watching the tube.....watched the stuff on Egypt today.

  19. Morning/evening, ladies :) Deb, the squirmy kitten GIF on the National Cheeseburger Day post made me want to reach through the screen.

I have a random day off from work today (happens when you have 44 days and some of them get used for long weekends, I always end up with one or two single days), then tomorrow is my appt with my NS (and oh joy, just in time my head is getting evil again, after calming down until I'd gotten the MRI done, sigh). I don't know if an evil head looks any different on an MRI than a just average head, but it would be nice to find out.

We had to call the complex security office last night (well, 2 this morning) because of the idiot squatters upstairs; someone up there is a wannabe rap star and tends to "practice" in the wee hours. Ugggghhhh. We really need to get rid of these people.

Posted 8 months ago by Kilroy #

  20. Deb, when do you see the docs and get the results of your tests again?

Morning, Kilroy, so sorry your evil head is playing up again but glad you're finally seeing the neurosurgeon. I hope s/he can help.

OMG, I can't believe your squatters upstairs are still there. That noise is the last thing you need.

  21. Morning/evening, ladies!!!
I'm tired this morning - Bobby decided to sleep next to me almost all night, so I didn't dare move. He usually comes to suck on the blanket and stays ten minutes and then leaves, but last night he stayed. He woke up and left for 10 minutes or so and then came back. And then around 4:00, Milo decided to join the party and sleep on my chest (Bobby was sleeping next to me, head on my armpit). Don't know what was up with those two, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. Mi only stayed about 10 minutes, but it was a nice ten minutes :)

  22. Hi, GD. Awwww, the boys have been missing their meowmy. I love sleeping with my kitties. They're so warm and fuzzy and furry :D

  23. Not sad at all Jcat, I'm not a Coro fan, I watch Emmerdale and EastEnders when I can.
HRH had fish and milk and went outside a while ago and has just come back inside now. She has spent the evening on 'her' bed asleep.

  24. I wish mine would sleep with me more often. Usually it's just 5-10 minute visits a couple of times a night. All that coming and going doesn't lead to good sleep for mama, either.

I hadn't completely abandoned them - just spent one night at the dog-sitting house, and the others with the boys.
They're both doing well - I'm worried they may not want to move out with me when the time comes - they enjoy having more room and they LOVE the big patio to roam on, hunt on, and roll around in the sun on!
XBF told me his ex-wife will be coming back probably mid-October which is earlier than he had anticipated. She lives in Virginia and says it's getting cold early this year, so she's longing to come back here. So it looks like I've got to kick the apartment hunting into high gear!

  25. Yay for snuggly Bobby & Mi :)

Jcat, New York City has the most ridiculous laws concerning occupancy; as long as someone can prove that they're living in a place it's almost impossible to kick them out and it takes forever. So basically I could move into an abandoned apartment on Park Avenue and live like a socialite for years until they could get rid of me (if I had no morals or sense of responsibility, that it). We have a neighbor who went away on business years ago and came home to find his roommate had lodged a domestic violence complaint against him (totally fictional) so he wasn't able to get back into his own apartment and the roommate just took it over (still only paying half the rent). When it comes to real estate, New Yorkers are nuts.

  26. Blimey! GD, maybe you should move to NY!

  27. That's crazy, Kilroy!!

MY boys may have been extra loving last night because I brought home a present for them last night. While browsing at T.J. Maxx, not looking for anything, I found a nice carrier that was reduced to $25. I had been wanting to get a new one since Milo is a bit too big for the ones I have and the carry strap on the fabric one is broken and held together with duct tape. Wasn't planning on spending any money, but this was too good to pass up!
The boys seemed to like it - found Milo sleeping in there this morning when I got up.

  28. Hi GD and Kilroy. Awwwwww GD, isn't it magical when the kits snuggle up like that.
Kilroy, what ridicuous occupancy laws, just asking for people to abuse them. I hope your 'rap singing' squatters lose their voices and are evicted quickly.

    Posted 8 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  29. That is one beautiful, fancy carrier, GD. No wonder the boys wanted to snuggle for an extra-long time.
