  1. G'morning one and all, opening the Cafe up but can't hang out ..... seems that everyone wants to talk this evening .... yes I do *hear* voices and can be truthful when I tell a counselor that....

Let's let the Tuxedo's take care of the Cafe this morning, they are always prepared with their proper dress habits :)

Zephyrus http://www.catoftheday.com/ Nice story & check out the B&B

  2. What a wonderful story and what a neat kitty Zephyrus is!

Posted 8 months ago by Siobhan #

  3. Good morning Cafe(ers), what a beautiful cat Zephyrus is and he certainly fell on his feet when he arrived at the B&B.

  4. Good morning, people, at this very moment, Libs is asleep on Jas's old chair in the living room and Millie is asleep under the duvet on the couch in the living room (yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! - Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!) and I am on the computer in the office, YAY!

The salmon treats MS gave me for the kitties helped an awful lot this evening, every commercial break that they weren't fighting or hissing or staring at each other, I gave each of them two treats. It seems to be working, touchwood, lol. I AM SO HAPPY! Thank you, MS, I am going to lay down a good supply of those treats, lol!

  5. Mygosh, great home to score, Zephyrus, what a lovely place. I think I will go there instead of to Florida ;-)

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  6. So glad the treats came in handy for bribing the furbutts. HRH loves those treats as much as the more expensive Greenies.
Now I can also see that Lbs & Millie have trained Meowmy into thinking they were fighting just to get the treats.

  7. What a beautiful kitty Zephyrus is and he sounds like quite the cat. I'd enjoy staying at his B&B any day!

Gotta laugh at the weatherman on local morning news. He's attired in a very nice business suit, dress shirt and tie but has on the cheapest old style canvas gym sneakers for shoes. Shuddering at his fashion non-sense.

  8. Perhaps the cameraman/woman wasn't supposed to pan down that far, Marnet, lol.

I am almost afraid to go back into the living room in case one of them has woken up and silently disembowelled the other, lol...

It was legendary here that the newsreaders on public telly used to wear a shirt and tie and jacket up top and shorts and sandals underneath the desk during the 70s, lol, they wouldn't get away with it now...

  9. popping in briefly to say "hi"......... 'that place' is busy this week, and my home computer here seems to want to act up a bit lately!........

...... is it better to totally shut down your computer when you leave, or should you just let it 'sleep'?........ I was always shutting it down, but this weekend, daughter said to me it wasn't good for it, and that I should just close the cover and let it sleep......... anyone weight in here?

..... thanks in advance for the advise, gotta run now!....... yay for the progress with Libby and Millie!.......

  10. Yay, yay, yay for Millie and Libs! Those must be some treats :)

Zephyrus is lovely and so is his home. When my family ran a B&B, the original Kilroy was in charge of guest relations; he would come out & roll around at their feet when they arrived, begging for bellyrubs.

I'm leaving soon for my NS appt, then off to that place. Have a good day, everyone.

  11. Have a great day, AV, and Kilroy. Kilroy, hope the appointment is useful this time.

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  12. Jcat, actually he had to know his shoes would be on camera. That station has a morning segment several times each a.m. with the weatherman standing outside in the parking lot on a giant roll out map of the metro area to give the traffic report. Very strange. LOL

  13. Jcat, I remember hearing from a sound technician years ago that the news readers sometimes didn't even have the shorts and jandals on. How they kept a straight face and the BBC diction going I don't know.

  14. Hi AV and Kilroy and bye bye, have a great day ladies. AV, Airy tells me to sleep it unless I'm going to be away for over a day.

  15. FOGGY here in SW Michigan! Would have been great to just roll over and snuggle deeper under the blankies this morning!

I have a very detailed embroidery project to begin. I really should have started this weeks ago... I have to cut my acrylic nails -really- short to do this detailed work. Teensy, tiny, split and satin stitches... I bought a frame for the work, but I don't like it, I'm going to look for a more traditional embroidery hoop after work today.

I have to embroider through a piece of paper for this, I've never done it before. The design is too small and too detailed to use a direct transfer method. It's also going to test my eyes and fingers....they don't work as well at 53 as they did at 19! (lol)

  16. Siobhan, that's a lovely age(I know it well) and I'm with you on the eyes not working as well as they used to. I don't have the patience for embroidery, Mum had me doing some as a youngster but it wasn't me but I do admire you for being able to do such fine work.

  17. Good morning. For me it's a "Toothday". I have to have a root canal redone because of some bacteria that showed up in my dental x-ray last week. I'll be going to an orthodonist at noon today. I am hoping it all goes well and "painlessly."
Siobhan, you must post a picture of your finished product. It sounds quite interesting.
I'll be at the front desk for the rest of the week, so maybe I'll be able to slip in from time to time and catch up with what's going on.
Have one of the tuxies bring me a hot chai tea from time to time and I'll be fine.

  18. Morning ladies :)

I never shut my computer down, always had problems when I did and now let it sleep.

Siobhan, good luck on the embroidery project, my eyes sure ain't what they used to be!

Jane, quiet cheers from the AZ corner on the *truce* within your house :)

  19. Ladykat, may your day be painless and that you have a good day.

My co-worker is having all four of his wisdom teeth pulled today, he is a braver person than I could be....hope he has no pain or slight pain too.

  20. Hi folks! Mr. Z is quite the handsome dude; I would like to visit that B&B.
Didn't see the stray tuxie in my yard this morning - but now I see he's made his way to the cafe this morning!

  21. So my good story today besides the Zephyrus one is from my own town of Tucson...

One of the Tucson agents saved a tiny kitten today, it was in the middle of the roadway with cars passing over it. He stopped traffic and picked it up, took it to the pet hospital and they stabilized the kitten. Hope that someone adopts the baby, supposedly it was doing alright except for the burns on its poor little feet from standing on the roadway (it was 100 degrees here today). If I didn’t have 4 cats already, I would take it but can’t with comfort do that.

  22. Wow, the Cafe is filling up. Hi Marnet,LK and Joan.
It's after the witching hour here and time I was in bed. Have a great day everyone.
Deb & Jcat, sweet dreams. Awwwwwwww Deb, what a nice agent to stop all the traffic and safe the kitty, bless him.

    Posted 8 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  23. Awwww, Deb, that is such a great story. Good on that agent!

Morning, Siobhan, LK and Joan. Sorry I missed you, MS, sleep well and sweet dreams!

Sorry I disappeared. I did tiptoe back to look at the living room. Miss Millie was wide awake and sitting up but being quiet as a little mouse and not even staring at her big sister, who was still asleep. So I gave her three treats! Then Libs woke up and I gave her three too. Libs went back to sleep and Miss Millie is now on my shoulder (I didn't really trust her to be good for much longer...)

In a few minutes we might head off to bed too. It's still chilly here, lol. Nighty-night Deb, sleep well and sweet dreams when you get home. Have a lovely day, everyone. Scritches to all the furbutts!

Posted 8 months ago by jcat #

  24. G'night Jan, sleep well and scritches to HRH in the morning.

Jane, yay!!!! If you go off to bed before I get back, sleep well and scritches to the kits in the morning!

  25. Awwwww. AZ, that's a good story, it's on its way to a happy ending, I hope.

I'll post pictures of that embroidery! It's an insert for a storage box. Not an ordinary storage box :-) My kingdom ordered a set of four new crowns (King, Queen, Prince and Princess) and I am doing the King's coat of arms for the box that stores the King's crown. Three other needleworkers are also involved. Supposed to be finished by mid-October.

Each box is going to be lined with tarnish-resistant fabric. Two of the crowns will be red brass ("gold") and two are nickel silver ("silver"). The four are costing over $3000, so these are not cigar-band crowns (lol). These see frequent use and will be part of the Kingdom regalia for decades. The embroidery I do on the storage box will also (hopefully) last for decades.

I remember my hands got sore the last time I did a major project, but I did thirteen small embroideries, not just one :-) And it was just of a dragon.. that was back in 2006, so it's been awhile since I've put needle to fabric for such fine, free-form embroidery.

  26. Wow Siobhan, sounds impressive! I have to ask, what kingdom is this?

Posted 8 months ago by Marnet #

  27. Hi Kitts!

    Morning Marnet and Katthays :)

30 min countdown so its time for me to start shutting down windows, packing things up and get ready to skip on outta here when my relief hits the scene! Have a good day and c ya l8r :)

Posted 8 months ago by jeankit #

  30. Hi all, I'm back. Sio, your project sounds lovely, if taxing. I'd love to see pictures when it's done.

LK, I hope your dental work goes smoothly and with minimal discomfort.

Deb, what a wonderful thing that agent did rescuing the kitten. I hope its little feet will be OK.

One more quiet yay for Libs and Millie!

My appointment with the NS was as pointless as I figured it would be, "Oh, your MRI looks exactly like every other one you've ever had, gee it's too bad your head hurts but we don't have a clue how to fix it. Bye"
