Prayers for Ruby please..

  1. I adopted 11 year old Ruby about a month ago. He's a big orange boycat.
    He's stopped eating and lost weight..He is currently being hospitalized so he can get fluids and syringe feeding. He may be in liver failure.
    It's going to get expensive but I want to do what I can for him.

  16. Thank you all.. I just got back from visiting him at the vet.. He will need a feeding tube put in today. He seems so sad, but he purred for me when I held him.

  19. I fed one of my kitties through a feeding tube for a while,she got her strength back and started eating on her own again.I think the most important thing is really bonding during this time,showering Ruby with one on one time.

  22. Ruby is out of surgery to have the feeding tube put in. He will recover overnight at the vet. I'm picking him up first thing tomorrow. Thank you all for the continued prayers.

  24. It sounds like your little guy has Feline Hepatic Lipidosis,(fatty liver syndrome). If that is the case, catching it early and treating it agressively (feeding tube) has a very high survival rate. Ruby is lucky to have you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.

  30. Ruby is home with a pharmacy of meds! Cheetaboysmommy, it is fatty liver.. Poor baby. Please continue the prayers for him.
