,..... did you see what happened last night in Baseball?........ our Rays came back from a 7 run hole, and Boston ended up loosing with a 3 run lead....... when I went to bed around 10, I was sure we were out of it, and I wake up to a complete turnover!...... wow!....... Mr. AV says it has made history in so many ways!!!!!

  5. YES, AV! That was something else, eh?! I am so happy for our Rays!

BTW, did you see the half-off seafood sampler coupon I posted for you?

Posted 8 months ago by Dee #

  6. yes I did, thanks!..... in fact, shared it with a co worker that LOVES L&S...... wow, this town might just go crazy now, with all the excitement - first playoff game happens Friday at Texas...... I bet every sports bar in town will be nuts!!!!!!!

  7. Here I go again...making myself hungry over the things that we all post!
Below is a Cuban coffee primer. Besides being crazy, Cuban coffee is another thing we Floridians know about! I really do not even like coffee that much, but a good cup of strong Cuban coffee and a big piece of buttered Cuban bread is like manna from heaven!

There is a decades-long rivalry between Tampa and Miami over who makes the best Cuban bread. They are BOTH delicious!

Here is video of my favorite bakery to pick up a loaf of Cuban bread. You can watch all the guys making bread in the open. If you get there around 2AM, it is hot from the oven!

Are you dying for Cuban bread right now, too, AV?!

  8. Do I smell coffee?

Posted 8 months ago by GD #

  9. Dee, my favorite Cuban bread (baked right here at Alessi's), and my favorite Cuban coffee - is definitely at Pipos (formerly El Pilon) on MacDill/Azeele. A good friend of mine that used to be a HaiLai (sp?) player opened that little restaurant as El Pilon, over 10 years ago........ developed a strong local following, and Pipos bought him out a few years back, but kept him on as the local draw for the breakfast regular crowd....... the coffee con leche is the BEST!!!!

  10. Hey GD!...... will you route for our Rays with us??????

  11. "I shall worship at the feet of the Goddess Caffeina forever"

    Pass the irish cream!

YAY TIGERS!!!!!! They don't have home field advantage, but we gots Justin Verlander. :-) We used to say he was Tansey's favorite baseball player because her 'real' name was "Vrrr"

  12. Yes! I love Pipo's! I love their chicken and rice! I have not been there in a year or so...now I am craving that, too! I like the Cuban bread at Mauricio's better than Alessi's. And I think Alessi's still uses lard. But that is probably what makes it taste so good...haha!

  13. Absolutely, Dee! They're a Florida team, after all!

  20. Hello, had to come to work to relax. My decluttering is working wonders, but I sure am tired. The duplex will look so much better and I've gotten rid of so much that I wasn't using (or needed).
A glass of iced cappachino for me, please.

  23. Hi All you Kitts!
Yum, coffee! I will have to sample more than one :) I really like the flavored coffees. I love donuts, my downfall along with cake, but I don't buy nor eat them(rarely), but seeing how this is a calorie free cafe, I'll take half a dozen, assorted, please :0
    Wishing everyone a nice Thursday!

  24. *Ducking in quick for some pineapple juice.*
Forgot to tell you guys yesterday - Comet got another mouse! Another notch on his wall. Thinking of getting a little mouse stamp and starting a poster board for him.

  25. They have great deals, Deb. Last month they had a Boston Market gift card worth 25 dollars for only $12.50.

  27. Dee, have put them on my favorites and will be checking like I do with Groupon. Couldn't get into the Bayer site, wouldn't connect ... guess it was too busy.

Posted 8 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  28. Yay Comet! I love the idea of a chart with little mousies on it :)

Not a great day in this corner of the universe; got home last night to a dead refrigerator, we're probably going to lose a couple hundred bucks worth of food, on top of the repair cost. Then Mr. K decides that every single arrangement I made for our upcoming trip was wrong and stupid and he has to redo the entire thing, which he proceeds to do while getting utterly frustrated with the various travel sites and swearing loudly at the computer (and at me, and at George). I dared to bring up the subject of vacation planning for next year and was treated to his lecture on "how the post office schedules vacations" which I've heard 800,000 times and which is completely irrelevant to my life.

Oh, and his big challenge today? He was supposed to play tennis 3 times in 24 hours (total of 6 hours playing time), but the game this morning got cancelled. In the meantime, I'm doing 2 people's jobs today in addition to my own, and I lost count of the number of things he told me I should do for him while I'm at work today (really??).

Sorry for the huge rant, folks :S I think I need a large coffee with a shot of something strong in it.

  29. I just realized that their verbiage, "between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM (EST)", could mean that is starts sometime between those two hours. Why do they make us work so hard? haha!

Posted 8 months ago by Dee #

  30. {{{{{Kilroy}}}}} Yup, you DO need an extra large coffee! Argh, Men!
Comet is a good boy, and deserves a sticker for mouse patrol :)
