  9. Evening all. Just a brief visit from this side of the pond to let you all know I'm still in the land of the living and all is OK.

I'm having some issues at work at the moment and I'm very busy. Once term settles down I'll probably be on more often.

In the meantime have a coffee (tea or juice) on me, or if you too have reached the status of "the sun is over the yardarm" join me in a glass of wine. xxx

  10. I, for one, will never turn down an invitation to join a friend for a glass of wine!

  11. Same here, hi PM!! Sorry things are bonkers at work, hope they settle down.

Which reminds me, there's a bottle of sauvignon blanc in our non-working fridge; can I assume it's safe to just rechill it?

Posted 8 months ago by Kilroy #

  12. Do rechill & christen your new/fixed fridge or pop the cork & pass a glass thru the wormhole as "share"/tee hee!

  13. The wine will be fine, especially if it lying down to keep the cork moist. Just rechill as soon as you get the fridge repaired.

  14. Sung to the tune of The Rain in Spain:

"The wine will be fine, mainly if left on its side."

  15. Thanks, PM. At least that's one thing we won't lose (the 2 dozen eggs, that's a different story :( )

  16. Kilroy, hope that the fridge fix is an easy one that doesn't cost much.

  17. Eek, Kilroy, don't throw away TWO DOZEN eggs just because your fridge went off. Never mind the American egg board, here we always take the eggs out of the fridge the morning of cooking to bring them up to room temperature. Loads of people just keep eggs in baskets or china hens. Maybe you don't want to eat them raw but cook something and freeze them!

  18. Evening all!...... only one more tiny half day, and then the WEEKEND!!!!....

.... oh Kilroy, bum on the fridge malfuntion!..... so annoying!...... I would tend toward erring toward caution...... how 'warm' did the eggs get?.... if they remained fairly cool, they're probably ok..... if they got toward a warm temp, I'd probably toss them......

..... I'm looking forward to minimal chores this weekend (major cleaning last weekend) so I'm hoping to having some time to decorate for October/Fall, and trying out a few new yummy dishes!
