  1. Welcome to the warm & cozy cafe today with your fave noms, bevies, treats with purrs & headbonks galore! Come on in share a bit, have a nibble & enjoy some furry pampering! The calicos are the cafe crew today as they match the surroundings with their pretty colors & markings! It is a bit windy & cool in brewtown today but at least the sun is shining! Me, need a very large cuppa joe to go with some cinny raisin toast, now a smooch for Tux but back in a bit for it is end of month & will probably be occupied with other things soon! Paw up with waves to those who stop by...later!

  2. Hey there, JeanKit!
Noooo, I don't want Sept. to end....is it almost spring yet??? Lol.
I sure could use a large, hot cuppa joe...and how about a blueberry muffin to go with that? Thanks!
Hope your Friday will be a good one!

  3. Morning littermates! It's going to be chilly, rainy, and WINDY here! Sounds like it's big pot o chicken soup weather...maybe with fresh apple crisp or apple pie!

Gonna go to the local farmer's market for produce and good smells tomorrow morning. They have a guy there who cooks up sausage and it smells SOOOOO good. I also want to get some artisan-made cheese, along with some apples and gourds for decorating (and cat toys).

It's fun to have kittens in the house again. We are experiencing their first seasons with 'em and it's big fun.

  7. Hi, Everyone!

Oooffff - a horrible night last night :-( For some reason my ankle and foot were just throbbing and you know how everything seems so much worse in the middle of the night. But I have a treat today - I get to go and have a mammogram!!!

It's really windy here today with a cold front coming in from the north. Sadly, it's not bringing anything wet with it.

  8. {{{WWM}}} What a bummer, and I hear you on the "everything hurts worse at night". Wish I could send you a week's worth of rain.

  9. Ooh how fun, WWM! You get to try and balance on your foot and ankle while the girls get pulled up and about and oh, well, you know! LOL Good luck!

  10. WWM, I wish I could send some of this "wet" here to you! I am sooooo sick of rain already. I shudder to think of what this winter will bring to us if this rotten wet pattern continues!

  13. LOL Joan! I have been fortunate in that department. My problem is the outside of the house. Lots of debris that I can't get to cleaning up. Now the city is cracking down on the "debris" and fining you if it is there!! Can't win no matter what with this "stuff". Thankfully we should see dry weather all next week!!

  23. Well, I'm a Red Sox fan living in "enemy territory" :) so not feeling too baseball-happy right now :P I tell Mr. K just to tell people that we have a mixed marriage. He did bring me back a cap from his recent trip to Fenway Park.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  24. LOL @ Kilroy!.... (huggs)..... sorry for the loss, your team is one of my favorites too, cause Wade Boggs used to play for them, and he used to be in my math class!

Posted 7 months ago by AV #

  25. Really? Cool. I grew up with the Sox (living in Maine we didn't have our own teams, lol) and my dad taught me how to figure out percentages by talking about batting averages.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  26. yeah, he graduated from the same high school, the same year, and was in some of my classes.... really nice guy..... he started his career with the Red Sox and eventually played for our Rays toward his later years..... he is a big 'home town' hero around here!

Posted 7 months ago by AV #

  27. We have a teeny "cold front" on the way - supposed to be only in the upper 80's tomorrow which will be a welcomed change. Maybe we can sleep with the windows open, although that scares Windi as she can hear the coyotes howling!

Posted 7 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  28. AV, I'm so looking forward to our cool front!! It's supposed to be a high of 82 Sunday and 83 Monday. Yay! I need to find my boots :)

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  29. Tee hee with FL temps...my niece said the same thing as now that it's Fall the highs are only in the 80's...woo hoo for you! (Actually she is enjoying getting used to the warm temps as a new transplant to FL & doesn't miss WI temps yet either!) As for me, I enjoy the change of Seasons...except maybe could skip Jan altogether! Anyway, almost quittin' time in brewtown with wishes for a great weekend to all!

  30. This was passed on to me by a friend, I have thyroid issues and take meds for it. Figure all they can do when asked about the thyroid guard for mammograms and the little flap when visiting the dentist is tell you NO.

This is true, I asked the lab tech at my dentist and her reply was the same as below.

We need to pass this on to our daughters, nieces, mothers and all our female friends!! I just did, now you send it on to your list. On Wednesday, Dr. Oz had a show on the fastest growing cancer in women, thyroid cancer. It was a very interesting program and he mentioned that the increase could possibly be related to the use of dental x-rays and mammograms. He demonstrated that on the apron the dentist puts on you for your dental x-rays there is a little flap that can be lifted up and wrapped around your neck. Many dentists don't bother to use it. Also, there is something called a "thyroid guard" for use during mammograms. By coincidence, I had my yearly mammogram yesterday. I felt a little silly, but I asked about the guard and sure enough, the technician had one in a drawer. I asked why it wasn't routinely used. Answer: "I don't know. You have to ask for it." Well, if I hadn't seen the show, how would I have known to ask? Someone was nice enough to forward this to me. I hope you pass this on to your friends and family.
