  1. Well, I FELT it - I went outside early this morning, and I felt 'that first cool morning'...... the one where you can tell the humidity is low, and the air smells crisp and clean ...... YAY!!!!!!! Today, in sunny Florida, it's only supposed to be in the low 80s, so (we'll see)..... if so, it's a purrrrfect day!................

............. the kitties are rumbling about in the kitchen, whipping up omelettes, waffels, pancakes, fresh muffins and hashbrowns.......... fresh squeezed juices are available, along with some speciality teas and lots of strong brewed joe............

............. come on in and enjoy a relaxing Saturday, a cool breeze and a purrfect sunny day!

  2. Morning, AV. Mr. K & I are headed out to the airport, so I'll grab a pastry and give the orangie waiter a smooch before running out the door. See you all in a week.

  3. ..... Kilroy, have a great trip!..... be safe, and post/send pics if you can!.... is Georgie being looked after by a friend? or is he at a kennel? ...... Abby runs thru the wormhole and gives Georgie a big hug "don't fret, my friend, Momma and Daddy will be back soon..... we'll keep you company while they're gone"......

  4. Georgie's favorite catsitters are taking care of him while we're gone, so I'm happy. They really love him, so much that when there was a big thunder/lightning storm here when we were in Spain, they stayed in our apartment until it was over because George was hiding under the futon & they wanted him to know there was someone here.

  5. awwwwww..... I'm glad for Georgie!...... my sister takes care of my girls when we go away, it's always comforting to know our babies are being cared for by people that love them like we do :)

........ fixin' to run out for a while now, going to the grocery, and then going to 'decorate' for October........ will check in later, have a great Saturday morning everyone!!

  6. I didn't feel anything when I went out around 7:20, AV :( I want my cold front!!!!

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  7. Oh GD!..... I'm so sorry the cool air didn't make it down your way!..... I wonder if the Atlantic breeze blew it west?........it's an absoutely beautiful here!..... hasn't even reached 80 yet!...... Mr. AV and I just had an early lunch out on the porch, it was great!.....
.... ok, going back down to decorate ;)

  8. How about COLD morning!? Might need the heat turned on today. We had a hard frost last night and I am bundled up in layers. It's 34F maybe a few degrees warmer. Please send some hot chocolate my way!

  9. *pushes* a large cup of chocolate with fresh whipped cream and a cherry on top thru the wormhole to MC......

  10. It may have cooled down since I got to work at 7:40. I'll find out when I'm out of here in a couple of hours.
The coffee I picked up at Panera didn't help wake me up this morning - I will have to go back for more. I got the greatest deal yesterday - Panera was selling a coffee to-go mug for $10 to benefit breast cancer. And with it came free refills of said mug for the entire month of October! Since I buy a $2 cup of coffee there at least 5 times a week, this is an awesome deal. Yay! I am going to be highly caffeinated for the next month!

  11. I bought one of those mugs last year GD, but I don't drink coffee so I just bought it for the mug. I wonder if they mug is the same for this year. I wish I could use it to get tea, but I DO still have an aversion to Panera after my getting sick episode. I have gotten all sorts of emails and letters from Panera but I just can't go back in. It makes me nervous.

    Posted 7 months ago by mollycat71 #

  12. That stinks, MC. I love Panera and would hate to have a bad experience there and not be able to go back there :(
It's a stainless steel mug with pink. It looks nice. I may buy another one just to have a set. (And then I could grab two coffees to go at the same time - wheeee!!)

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  13. Ha! GD, great idea! I have that mug as well. I use it for my herbal tea. I even have a certificate for a free "meal of choice" but I can't make myself go back. I start to get sick as I get close to my Panera. And I LOVE Panera, it breaks my heart! I know in time I will go back, just not ready yet

    Posted 7 months ago by mollycat71 #

  14. How about going to a different Panera?

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  15. MC what happened at Panera? Did they serve you bad food?

Posted 7 months ago by gini #

  16. She got sick after eating there, Gini!

And by the way, I'm sure Kilroy meant to say YOU are Georgie's favorite cat-sitter!

  17. Hi - anyone here? I hope everyone is well. So glad it's the weekend, although I've already found something to stress out about on the "that place" front. Going to try not to worry all weekend. Things have been tough lately.

Posted 7 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  18. ((((Joan)))).......years ago, one of my best 'mentors' told me...... when you walk out of this office, leave it and all it's baggage behind..........

.... and my smart mother always said .............. worrying will make you sick, but will change nothing.........

..... I know easier said than done, just wanted to give you some words of encouragement!

..... I've been decorating my house for October, Fall and Halloween....... amazing how much 'stuff' my 'kids' had collected over the years - goodness, we must have looked like the 'haunted house' some years! LOL........ Mr. AV and I have sorted, thrown out, re-boxed and now decorated with just a few fun things!..... I think this cooler weather got us in the 'mood'!

  19. Thanks AV, I'll try! {{{AV}}} I have to clear out my summer toys and make way for fall & woodburning season. Deflating the beachball is a bummer!

Posted 7 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  20. ...... popping back in for a small break....... been doing chores, decorating for October, and cooking....... my menu tonight:

my new favorite ranch potatoe salad
    Oven BBQ chicken
    Salad with cheese and olives

.... simple, and very Southern, but sooooo yummmy!..... Mr. AV and I are planning on watching the game tonight, starts at 7pm - GO RAYS!!!!

    ........... what's on everyone's agenda/menu this evening?

Posted 7 months ago by AV #

  21. Gotta root for the home team!! AV... What is the new ranch potato salad?? I know you posted one with the ranch pkg mix for the baked "fries" version....and it is very good( if that wasn't you, I'll still give you the credit)!! Just assembled a pan of lasagna, some for tonight, and freeze individual portions for later. Windows are open, with a mini-nip in the air...love this time of year!!

    Posted 7 months ago by 12PAWZinFL #

  22. Whyyyy do you two have a nip in the air and it's still 88 here? Not fair :(

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  23. It's damp and raw here - we're slowly turning into mushrooms. I wasn't going to have anything interesting for dinner but hubby is coming home tonight instead of staying on his trip till tomorrow. Lasagna sounds good, but I don't think I have all the makings. Spaghetti is a possibility, or a chicken/pasta caserole.
I've been cleaning my closet. How can I have so many clothes and nothing to wear?? I was going to sleep on the couch tonight, but since hubby's coming home, I'll have to relocate my somewhat organized piles and start up again tomorrow. I would like to get thru the whole closet so I don't wind up literally tossing the piles back in!
Comet is at my feet; he says "Hi everyone!"

  24. O.K. GD..... At least it is not 90 something!!!

  25. So I've decided on chicken noodle casserole. Good for a raw day.
Now Leela is here. She says "Hi!" too.

Posted 7 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  26. Joan....Since you are somewhat here, between closet projects........ Question.... Does Comet really weigh 18 #'s??? I thought I had read that earlier...but certainly must have not read correctly.????? He's just a baby kit!!!

  27. Afternoon all!

12P - I mixed the dry ranch dressing in my pototoe salad, and it's AMAZING! my receipe is as follows:

4 large baking potoes....... peeled, cubed and boiled in salted water unti tender
    3 hard boiled eggs chopped
    1/2 cup frozen petite peas
    1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup diced spring (green) onion

    Dressing -
1 cup mayo (I use light)
1/2 cup sour cream (I use fat free)
    1 tsp fresh ground pepper
1 tlb finely chopped flat leaf parsley
    1 package ranch dry dressing

Put everything in a large bowl. Mix dressing together well in a small bowl and then fold into the potatoes...... refridgerate at least an hour before serving........

  28. Thanx AV... Easily to adjust with the amounts, for two..... :)

    Posted 7 months ago by 12PAWZinFL #

  29. It's cold here. I will happily send some to GD. It got into the 50s today, I think, maybe. I could use some warm soup and crusty bread.

    Posted 7 months ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Yep 12P, the boy weighs in at 18lbs!! He's just over a year old. He's lean and muscular, and probably the only cat I've ever known who couldn't care less about dinnertime. In fact, he likes to run and hide - a game for him - when I try to put him in front of his food dish!
Dainty Leela, fully recovered from serious illness a year ago this week, is back to her perfect 12lbs. She's a bit rounder and shorter.
AV, that receipe sounds great! Like 12P, I can adjust that to feed 2.
