  1. I *know* i'm in peri-menapause, the very beginning (oh man) but it seems like I've got pregnancy symptoms (nausea, my girls hurt, etc.) it is WAY too soon for a period (i'm on the 3 month b/c) and I've taken 3 pregnancy tests (I know, I've watched tooooo many episodes of "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant!") It FEELS like I'm going to start any day and nothing happens. I'm freaking miserable. I love being a woman but some days....

Okay, I needed to vent/share. And to know that this stage can last for years.... I'll take a virtual margarita, if it's anything like how calories work I know the tequila won't affect me!

I'm going to bed. Maybe later in the week I can check in a little longer. After a several week break I need to start working in my house again. Oh, and I don't have any heat and it's 60 in my house. BRRRRRR My sister loaned me a little radiator looking heater, and it's plugged in near my bathroom so at least I'll be warm when I get out of the shower in the morning.

    Night night!

Oh, GD, send Bobby to me so you can get some sleep :)

  2. I know Indy won't win but I hope they get their confidence back at least. It's too bad the whole darn team seemed to fall apart without Manning. Silly Comet, stay away from the salad! Salads aren't for kitties!

  4. Here's a margarita for you to take to bed with you, JBBM, and I'm sure Bobby will be headed your way in a little while.
It was tough watching the Jets go down in flames last night, sigh. I've stuck with the Giants and Jets thru winning and losing seasons, though.
Deb, at my weekend at the beach last weekend, I went walking on the beach with a few of the girls. Did I mention they are REALLY INTO walking?? They do marathons and such. We did about 6 miles - "a nice short walk".(???) Meanwhile, I'm trying to keep up in my cheap sneakers. I was hurting for a few days, and realized that if (no, WHEN) I get into serious exercise, I need to purchase a good pair of sneaks. The $12 Walmart ones are great for 'round the house, but not serious stuff!

  5. Joan oh so true on the shoes, I am lucky my daughter wears the same size and has umpteen sports shoes (and heavens knows how many other shoes) so she always sends me *new* shoes when she gets a newer style :)

Would love to walk along the beach, I miss that from growing up in Calif.

  6. I like to walk on the beach, but I prefer more of an ambling pace! I like to enjoy the surroundings. Those couple of days have to provide a year's worth of therapy for me - and for me there is nothing more therapeutic than the ocean.

  7. Hi ladies. I know what you mean by ocean therapy Joan. When I lived inland, (OK only 30 minutes from coast)for several years it drove me insane. I used to love coming down here to the city for the piece of the trip along the coastline. I grew up on the coast and now live 100 yards from the beach. When I was in the States last year in Indiana I felt so far from the sea! If I ever moved to the States I would have to live near one of the Great Lakes if I couldn't be near the sea.

  8. Must be wonderful living so close to the sea! At least in Jersey there's a bit of everything in driving distance, the Jeresy Shore, New York City and the mountains where I live. Head west into PA and there's Amish country - Comet's homeland!
I'm headed up to watch the game. Have a good one, peeps!

  9. Joan, I tend to take if for granted. Weeks can go by, especially in winter, when I don't set foot on the beach! We have a rather 'bland' coastline with no boats or ships of consequence. I would love to live somewhere where I could watch the boats and ships come and go. Its a very flat safe beach and an offshore island keeps any surfable waves away too. It would be nice to have a pier to fish off but the sea floor slopes out so gradually it would have to be miles long!

  10. ....... well, come to Florida, KK!.... I live 2 blocks from a HUGE bay, and one of the biggest sea ports on the west coast of Fla (walk the Bayshore all the time!)......I'm only 30 min. from open Gulf ocean, and I frequent there in the cooler months, especially!..... In know whatcha mean - "I must have my Sea"!......

and you're right, we do tend to take it for granted!.... Dee will weigh in on this too, I'm sure :)

  11. Hee hee, the Wairarapa coastline is nearer than Florida. Come to Ngawi, where every morning the multi-coloured bulldozers drag the little fishing boats out into the bay, the ocean liners pass by your window on their way into Wellington and schools of whales and dolphine frolic along the coastline and seals litter the rocky beach. There are two lighthouses within easy reach but nothing else is -- it's an hour's drive to Martinborough or Featherston and houses are falling into the sea from the erosion. It's exciting all right, the wind blows like a hurricane most of the time, KK. You would love it. (Possibly.) No Sunday papers though -- no one delivers them, it's too far, and you're an hour away from emergency services (like the cops)... .

  12. Jcat, I only WISH our beaches were so spread out and un-inhabited!..... unfortunately, we're fairly 'citified', but I will say, on some of the older areas, like 'Indian Rocks Beach' and 'Bellaire Beach', they have managed to preserve some semblence of 'history' (though it erodes every decade :(

  13. Jcat, I'm moving in!!

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  14. AV, there is a reason why Ngawi is so uninhabited, lol, but it's fine if you don't mind living in a hurricane. But it would be a nice contrast to KK's 'bland, safe' beaches on her side of the island...

Come on over, GD, but are you sure? The boys might get blown away... There's plenty of other wildlife though!

Better do something productive, back later...

  15. Jcat, I have been to Ngawi and I loved it. I would love to live on the wild south coast of Wellington (as long as I had some shelter). When it's a good day it's a beautiful day. I was whiteknuckled as MrKK drove along the road to Cape Palliser though - way too close to the edge!

  16. I'll put them on leashes so they won't blow away :)

  17. AV, did you see the Land and Sea deal I posted earlier?

  18. Here's the photos of my 'safe bland beach'. It is pretty but I need some seaward action!

  19. Yep Dee, thanks!.................

.... and KK, those pics of your nice calm beach reminds me of our Gulf - usually very warm and calm seas...... part of what I love about it so much!.... the Atlantic (to me) is always rough and cold!

  20. The pumpkin spice latte is back at 7-Eleven and it is delicious. I am enjoying one right now. It is as good as Starbucks but much cheaper!

  21. Yeah, that does remind me of the bay. I love it when it is really windy and it gets choppy...beautiful!
