Want to talk to Mr. L's psychiatrist before deciding anything. Experience yesterday was SO different from what I expected. Thought we'd sit down with a doctor, discuss Mr. L's symptoms and treatment history, then decide if ECT would be a viable option for him. Instead, it was like being put onto a conveyor belt and rushed through an assembly line (after they got us out of the waiting room). Asked nothing about his symptoms or psych diagnoses. Mr. L kept trying to tell dr. who gave physical about Mr. L's developmental disability; dr. kept cutting him off, saying he didn't deal with things like that. No discussion of costs, either. Someone from my church called a while ago; she thinks it sounds dodgy, and the more I think about it, so do I. No one would LISTEN to us.
