No complaining here!! My friend's son that was shot in the head has survived 14 that is fourteen brain surgeries and they are still doing facial reconstruction. He is actually having dinner with President Obama this evening. I celebrate his survival and his determination!
-
He is speaking--only a few words, but considering his condition it is amazing! He has another surgery scheduled for the morning. Putting the last piece of skull together. I would say I don't know how he made it, but I do believe in prayer. He was in the hands of God and God is instrumental in his healing. Doctors didn't have anything positive to say--and yet he lives.

Evening MC,Dee and SM.
Wow SM, your friends son is remarkable.
It's a pouring wet day here, we went to check out the oily beaches but the rain was so heavy it cut visibility and we couldn't see much from the top of the sand dunes. The weather mirrors our mood, that's for sure.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Evening Deb, I'm with you on the tiredness. I've already fallen asleep once this evening. I have HRH snuggled up tightly to me at the moment and she is so lovely and warm.

Dee, the doc's think I have a bleeding ulcer or something, even though I don't present the normal indications for that. So being scheduled for an endescopy (?) the end of this month and we shall go from there, joy joy.

From the archives of snopes.com....needed the laugh!
Butt Seriously, Folks: Johnson & Johnson rectal thermometers are "personally tested"?

At least the Doctors are investigating Deb, hope they figure it out and follow up with treatment.
Ewwwwwwwww, personally tested! That is so funny.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Jan, lol said I needed the laugh, I know that someone somewhere would believe that! I know the Doctor(s) are trying, they figure its either a bleeding ulcer or a hole in my stomach....guess those present themselves as a heart attack sometimes and I do have bleeding from all the tests that have done.

Yikes, some choice. At least they both are treatable.

That's what I said, I may not like their choices but what the heck.

Jcat! Hi there, how are you?
Have a good day at w**k MC.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hi, MC, panicking a bit about how behind I am on work now (why do we ever take time off, lol?) and still spitting tacks over the oil spill -- and it's not even in my backyard like it is yours. They had the guy who invented the wool booms on the news tonight, he has them all ready to go as soon as he's asked to help but he hasn't been asked and no-one's contacted him, looks like they're not interested. Last night on TV3 news, they had a company who's offered their technology -- moss that soaks up oil, it's been used all over the world -- and been ignored too. Meanwhile the news is showing pictures of dead seabirds and penguins and more tonnes of oil have gone into the sea now a main fuel tank's been ruptured by the bad weather.
Apart from that, I'm fine. Got my 'new' (second-hand) washing machine delivered today and just started on the ginormous backlog of washing -- so far so good, spins really fast and is very quiet. Now if the weather would just improve so I could hang it out...
-
We just don't know what is going on with the boom situation, they had several days of fine weather in which to get booms out for containment but nothing happened. Airy has been registered for over 24 hours as a volunteer but nothing. Locals are wanting to do something to help clean up our beaches so they are just going out there and doing it. We need something positive happening.
Great that you have the new washing machine but typical that the weather is dodgy for drying washing. Your clothes should be fast drying if it spins really well.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Yup, and that's a welcome benefit of a newer machine, MS!
Ooh, and at this very moment, Libs is asleep on her chair in the living room and Millie is awake but quiet on the couch. They are being so good now! Except that Millie still tries to ambush Libs from her carry-case 'lair' in the corridor (it's so sweet) but she does that to everyone. Although she hid under the bed when the guy arrived with the washing machine! -
Evening Jane, glad that you got the *new* washing machine, now the weather needs to cooperate on all ends of NZ.
Jan, saw on one of the reports that they (government higher ups or something) didn't want the *locals* to help because they didn't have the proper equipment or training to do things right....well h*#l if they did something, there would be no need for anyone else to do things right! Saw that too about the boom(s) not being asked for and then another person said it takes *time* to use them.....idiots all of them!!!

Jane, awwww she is a brave wee one when its you or Libs, not so much with the new people. How did she do with the Doll House club members and how did that go?

Awwwwww Millie the Minx, don't you go upsetting Libs, she'll be a good friend if you're nice to her. LOL, ratbag isn't she.
HRH came inside from the pouring rain a while ago bone dry but still insisted on being dried off and playing bullfighter and peek-a-boo from under the edge of the towel. Now she is settling down in her chair.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Deb, she was funny, she was crying from my room when my friends Peggy and her daughter arrived but when I took her into the living room, she got very afraid and accidentally scratched me on the nose, I was holding bits of tissue to staunch the bleeding all the way through the meeting, lol.
Every year there's a sewing competition (which I never enter because I can't sew) and this year it was 'dress a teddy bear'. Well, we put the bears in my bedroom and the visiting 'judge' and 'steward' went in there to judge them in privacy. Mills was still on my bed and by all accounts, she had a great time, leaping all over the bed from one side to the other while they sat on the bed with her. She obviously thought they had come just to play with her. I am rather grateful she didn't take a flying leap into one of their faces, as she has been known to do!
