  1. Evening/morning Deb. I'm still up. We had the family around for dinner tonight for Airy's birthday and earlier today HRH Shadz brought her a gift - a locust! Now, we had no idea we had locusts here in NZ and didn't know what this big insect was so we googled it and found out it was a locust. Trust HRH to get Airy a unique gift. Then we found a large spider in the letterbox, uggggggggh!

  2. Evening Jan :) Happy Birthday Airy!!!! Ewwww locust are not a good thing especially if they have migrated to NZ, they eat everything.

  3. Apparently the locust we have here doesn't swarm as we don't get the very hot weather required and they have been here for years. I've never seen one until now.

  4. Noisy critters they can be, good thing that they don't swarm. So you had a busy day with the birthday girl :)

  5. Morning everyone!........ Happy Birthday Airy, and cudoos to HRH for the 'unique' gift award....... I hope locust don't bother your garden, MS........ some kinds of them can reek havoc on vegetation!.......

..... another early day, to an all day class an hour drive away :(

..... looks like it might pour rain all day, I certainly hope the instructor has a 'heart' and lets us out a little early, but based on yesterday, she's the 'totally into it cheerleader' type, so I'm not banking on it......ugh!

  6. Love the links from above Deb. We had a slow day thankfully, it was a dull day with showers of rain and one brief patch of thunder and hail. All HRH wanted was to be out in it, now she is out to the count asleep on "her" bed.
Hi AV, it seems that the locusts here are are basically a grasshopper and do no damage. Dare I say have a great day although the instructor sounds a bit 'keen'.

  7. Morning AV, drive safely to and from your class. I do hope that the *cheerleader* peaks out and lets you go home a bit early.

  8. Jan, I can do with dull days at times, now if I could sleep thru them that is even better. Tonight the backyard visiting kitty came to the back door and there was a staring contest between it and the crew.

  9. ......... truly, the 'Chatty Cathy' personalities make the most ANNOYING instructors.......... and they take themselves WAY too seriously!........

..........* rumages * in drawers for earplugs and IPod...... do you think I'll get in trouble? ...........LOL

  12. well, at least the Crew have someone 'new' to talk about! LOL

...... I need to call WWM and borrow some of those 'depends', cause CC instructor was VERY strict about 'breaks' yesterday...... she put this stupid 'timer tick down' screen on when (after a 3 hour oration) she FINALLY let the room of 200+ people have a 10 minute break......... it was like a herd of cattle running for the (only) two bathrooms..............

  13. Awwwwww, smokey grey is outside entertainment for The Crew. Sounds like it knows how to look after itself Deb.
Time for me to head off to make Mr MS's lunch for tomorrow and then off to bed.
Sweet dreams Deb, chin scritches for The Crew.
    AV, have a great day.
    Nighty night all.

........ nighty night MS, have a good rest

......... Deb and Jcat, have a good day/evening!...............

........ hi ho, hi ho...........off I go .............. maybe I'll give her an earworm before she starts today.............. nothing like a crazy distraction rolling around in your head while one is trying to concentrate on speaking........... LOL, oh I am bad!

  17. Jcat, you tippy toed in as usual, Sweet dreams and headbonks for Libs and Millie. Barely keeping my eyes open here.

    Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  18. Ha, MS, I was very busy writing War and Peace about Millie on the other thread... Now she is on my shoulder -- I really hope she doesn't get much heavier than this, lol. Sleep tight!

She definitely deserves an ear worm, AV!

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  19. Jane, no can't imagine you carrying Millie around as a big girl.

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  20. It;s a bit of a worry, Deb, especially when she's swinging from various bits of my anatomy by her claws... and especially given all the treats she's getting in toilet training...

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  21. Jane, just thought about that while reading the other thread and seeing the 4 treats given when she did well :)

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  22. Well, Deb, she made it clear one just wasn't enough...

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  23. Lol, sounds like Red.....I have them all sit in certain spots for their treats and now if he sees me *head* for the kitchen he is on his *spot* immediately waiting for his treats.....if its doesn't appear, then I hear the insistent meowing saying, I am sitting here like you want, now where's the treats!

  24. Hee hee, it amazes me how bright cats suddenly become when it's all about food...

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  25. Morning, all!

Jcat, I just read your Millie story. You should write a book about raising and living with Millie!

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  26. Hi, GD, gosh, thank you! What a compliment! Millie, of course, being a terrible show-off, thinks that's a brilliant idea ;-). If I lived in the US I might give it a go but I don't think there would be much call for it in NZ, sadly. Also, it might be a bit short as she's not very old yet. However, I would never say never...

I'm just off to bed, so nighty-night everyone. Deb, sleep well and sweet dreams when you get home, hope the Crew let you sleep. Have a great day, GD.

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  27. Morning GD :)

G'night Jane, sleep well and have sweet dreams, scritches to both Libs and Millie in the morning :)

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  28. Morning, Deb!

You could write a children's book then, with pictures. About being different/ having a handicap and making the best of it. Millie would be a star!!!

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  29. GD, that is an excellent idea in my book! How's the packing up stuff going for you?
