  1. All my stuff's packed up sitting in XBF's garage. I put a load in the car and will drop it at the apartment this morning. My coworker isn't in yet, so even though it's after nine, I guess I'm stuck here a while.

  2. Morning, all. Deb, thanks for the wonderful links, lots of cuteness :)

Jcat, I read your "novel" about Millie and I think it was terrifically helpful. I hope the OP with the CH kitty took some hope from it (that and the Charley video, which makes me smile every time I see it).

Slightly cheerier in this corner of the world today; work wasn't as bad as I'd expected yesterday, and Mr. K & I went out for a really nice dinner.

Happy birthday, Airy! But ewwww on the "present" from Shadz :)

  3. Hi everyone! Happy Birthday Airy! Interesting find by Shadz. Hey AV, think we're getting your rain tomorrow - it's supposed to pour all day! Good luck with the move GD. Deb, as always, thank you for the pics and cheezburgers (and everything else!).
    Have a great day!

  4. Tra la la...skipping into cafe after a pleasant walk in (little persian lioness was in window w/fluffy mane & tail...body of a callie looks kinda pretty all mottled as a buzz cut!) Hi Joan, Kilroy, GD, Deb, and anyone else still lurking! Mmmm having hazlenut joe in brewtown today, yum...well...back to my desk, later kits...now where's Tux...here's a smooch for you!

  5. Taking a breather on the patio with coffee and late breakfast bagel - my morning ritual. The boys are upset that it's raining. I'm not too thrilled about it, either! It's no fun moving in the rain!
I dropped off the first load at the apartment after work this morning. I noticed that despite painting, the place still smells a bit of smoke. Any ideas of how to get rid of that? It's all tile, so no fabric. I read that often it's on the ceiling. It's a popcorn ceiling, though, so I'm not sure I can paint it. I'll definitely bring over some lysol sprays and de-smellerizers. Took another look at the bathroom and boy, is it ugly! I think I'll painkiller it a light yellow to go with the ugly blue sink, toilet and tub. So I'll have to do that before moving in.
I'm dog-sitting this weekend, so will probably move in Monday.

  6. Auto-corrector on phone stinks! I meant to say I'll "paint" it, nothing about painkillers :)

  7. Autocorrect stinks, period, end of sentence (although it can sometimes be very funny).

One week to Duran Duran, wheee! :) It turns out they were HERE, at work, the other day to be interviewed for one of our shows. Probably a good thing I didn't know; tackling guests (or even speaking to them) is highly frowned upon.

  8. Could you have worn a disguise of some sort, Kilroy? ;-)

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  9. Good thing I didn't think of that, GD :) Really, we get memos about not bugging the guests & there aren't very many I would want to.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  10. How about if you stalked them when leaving your work place and "accidentally" met them after they left :)

  11. http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/10/17/2580802/shelter-is-closing-150-cats-need.html

    Very sad indeed.

Have been trying to sleep but Kitty and Haje decided this morning it was time to fuss and hiss at each other and right around my bed no less :(

  12. MerD posted/shared this on FB.....I am assuming that it is Mr. Dye who is the nephew...maybe someone knows someone who could help with this sweet elderly kitty whose caretaker has passed unexpectedly....

    MerD
Is anyone here from NM who can help out?? I have a friend whose Aunt has died, and the cat is now "kenneled" somewhere in Los Alamos, NM.

**IMPORTANT!--please share this message. My Aunt died suddenly and has left behind a very sweet 13 year old spayed female cat. She is declawed, up to date on vaccines, and has recent bloodwork and urinalysis. She is in good health and needs a quiet home with no small children and no other pets. Please help me find a home for her as she meant the world to my Aunt.

    MerD Where is the feline?

Mitch Dye: Los Alamos, NM. I think she's still 'kenneled', as well :-( Wish I could take her..

  13. This is one very lucky and determined kitty....thank goodness the Welfare Society took her in after the horrors she endured.

  14. http://photos.denverpost.com/mediacenter/2011/10/mountain-lion-checks-out-cat/#name%20here

I can see why the young lion liked the backyard, the mountain lion statute looked like a very realistic copy of the real one. Great pictures!

  15. Save me, this CC will talk til the last minute :(

Posted 7 months ago by AV #

  16. Holy cowbells Deb, both on the mountain lion pics (gorgeous mountain lions, equally gorgeous orangie Coon cat) and the poor kitty who survived being gassed/frozen (she sure showed them! And what a beautiful kitty)

    {{{AV}}} Hang in there.

  17. Throwing you a line, AV! Let's skip out in the TDK cybermobile and go for a long lunch somewhere. I'm in a foul mood - lost my monthly train ticket last night - halfway through the damn month! I will have to pay another $90 on top of the $260 I have already paid to get a ten-trip ticket to get me through to the end of the month now. Not a happy camper. I must have dropped it on the train floor or something. I need to find a holder or sheath for it that I can clip on my bag or something. Usually I have it in a pocket of my purse but I take it out to show the guard and if my bag is on the floor and I'm trapped by someone sitting beside me I often just hold the ticket on my lap until I can get access to my bag again. Last night I had the ticket on the seat beside me with my bookmark while I read and I remember putting my bookmark in my book and putting my book away but I don't recall what I did with the ticket!

  18. That survivor kitty is absolutely stunning!
Nice pic of indoor and outdoor lions!

  19. Oh KK, that stinks! I was so happy when I got a wallet with a pocket on the outside to hold my subway pass, it's the only hope I have of keeping track of it. What a pain for you, bah. I'm sure you did this, but did you check your book to see if you put it with the bookmark?

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  20. Oh KK that stinks!

    Love the survivor kitty!

Waving hello to everyone. I *finally* started cleaning/organizing again after about a month hiatus. Decided to work in my bedroom (and no, the room to rent is not empty, YET!). My desk. Well, guess what? I can see it! I can use it! Holy cow I could serve a five course meal on it, it looks that spacious now! I AM a clutter bunny... I really should take photo's for y'all!

Neighbor gave me a Weslo treadmill. Haven't tried it yet, need to look up the exact model so I can download the instruction book. They also gave me a balance ball (I think that is what it's called) and a rebounder! Though, I think I'm gonna sell the rebounder, it's jut too big for my little house.

    Catch y'all later!

  21. Hi Kilroy and JBBM. I checked my book Kilroy as I have often slipped it into the book with the bookmark. I stripped my purse and handbag and other carrybag. I even had miniKK check the pockets of the coat I was wearing yesterday. The only place left to check is my car in case it fell out of my bag. But I suspect that I somehow knocked it off the seat onto the floor when I was putting my book away in my bag.
JBBM, good work on the cleaning. Have fun with the treadmill - I would love to have one of those at home.

  22. That stinks about the ticket, KK :(

Good job on the cleaning, JBBM! You're making progress!

AV, we need to speak about what you did to the weather!!!!!!! HOW am I supposed to move like this?

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  23. KK.... You need to stow your train ticket in your bra....that is, if there is is enough room. ;) That way you will always know where it is........ albeit, it may look a bit strange to produce the ticket from that location......

    Posted 7 months ago by 12PAWZinFL #

  24. LOL 12Pawz! I would soon get a reputation with the train guards if I did that! They would all be trying to change shift to get on my train! I just need to be more disciplined with putting my ticket away after they have seen it.

Posted 7 months ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  25. KK, I can sympathize with you and the 'lost' ticket!...... I'm forever loosing my 'company' ID/passkey....... for some odd reason, I seem to mis-place that particular item more than ANY other! LOL!

...... Kilroy - LOL!.... they would be lining up to 'gwak' (the guards) again, LOL!

  26. Deb! Keep doing those contests...I just won this!
    ........................
    Dee,
