  4. My three fur babies are NOT happy. Jackhammers have been going in the basement almost non-stop since 8:30 a.m. with just a break for lunch. Having to have all sorts of foundation repairs and piering done which involves making lots of holes in the concrete floor of the basement so the piers can be installed. Big noise, big mess, BIG EXPENSE. But hopefully it will stop the house from shifting further and I can then get the rest of the long needed repairs done.

    Keeping the cats upstairs and giving them lots of reassuring loving. Got several more days of this to come. I've got a headache!!! But, hey, at least I have a roof over my head which is more than many folks so I figure that all this hassle falls into the category of "this too shall pass." :)

  5. Sigh, just caught a blip on the news, guess we (U.S. and other countries) are going to *re-build* Libya.....geeesssshhhh can't we just leave things alone and bring our guys (all the different countries) home and get out of the re-building countries that blow themselves up business.....

  6. Azdebra, I'll join you side by side up on my soap box too. Rebuild Libya huh? And sending "advisors" to Uganda. I'm not an isolationist; know too much history and appreciate that isolationism is short sighted and dangerous. But for crying out loud, why do we have to be the whole world's policeman, nanny, and bankroll?! Sometimes I think our leaders haven't got half the brains God give glass geese! Sheeesh.

  8. @Kilroy.....got that phrase from my mom; not sure if it was original with her or she got it from her parents. Ya gotta admit, being accused of having less than half the brains God gives glass geese is rather a bummer, don't ya think? LOL

    I would like our service members to have a chance to breathe and be on our own soil for even just a little while, after Afghanistan, Iraq, and umpteen other places for the last 15-20 years.
