  1. No, it's not..... I guess you'll just have to come over to the states and visit with us, miu. Any of us would be glad to be host/hostess to you.

  6. I remembered seeing Bobbi's picture before. It might have been this one. This was back when you or Pipa's Mum invited TDKers to share photos of themselves.

  11. I'm going to bid you goodnight here, Bobbi. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. The conference program looks interesting. Are you going to participate in the quilt-making? I like the idea of a ritual to recognize the wisdom of women elders--but they really must work on the name for it!! :-)

I will look forward to a full report on Tuesday!!

  12. I am not doing the quilt thing, but I forgot which ones I did sign up for.
They are always interesting, and fun, and emotionally exhausting.

Oh, have a great week yourself.

  13. Evening all, talkative bunch aren't ya tonight...page 15 already!!! Got up for a bit so I can go feed the feral babies and then back home again, didn't go to sleep until 7 p.m. .... my own fault, went to MVD for dau again this a.m. and then to a home tour of 8 one million $ homes @ home show near the foothills....nice places but a lot of wasted space in most of them, but one was a killer place, couldn't find anything that I would change at all ;) Well off to drive out to the babies and then back again.....gotta love days off!

  18. Instinct, hey there, back from feeding the kitties...how was your day today?

Posted 4 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  19. It was good. I had hard surface modeling and I am about 3-4 weeks ahead of the game there.

Was a little irritated in my game design class though. I gave my idea for a simple game that I can build in the course of the class and the instructor was like "I don't know who would want to play something like that" even though my classmates were all laughing about the idea (in a good way)

  20. My idea is this. Simple game, look down view (god's eye) and you are Marvin, a simple office worker who wants to get from his cube to the break room for his break. You have 2 minutes to get to the break room

To get there though you have to dodge the supervisors who will give you work and walk you back to your cube; The VP who will give you more work, walk you back to your cube and stand there drinking coffee; The office tramp who attracts the VPs and supervisors like flies to honey, and the loudmouth who will block your way and keep talking to you as you try to get past.

Your weapons are doughnuts that you can throw and will distract the villians, birthday cake that you can drop behind you to slow them down, and (once per level) the RED STAPLER which will stun everyone but you

  21. Some instructors are stuck on what they 'perceive' as good ideas/design and nothing else will get them to think about anything else. Don't let it irritate you, keep on with it, usually if its a gut feeling it will work despite the nay-sayers. Think I may go back to bed since I haven't really slept much today, and that one brain cell is just kinda rolling around picking up dust bunnies as it will. Will you close up the shop unless MS comes in to do it?

Posted 4 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  22. Sure, but what do you think of the idea??

Posted 4 years ago by Instinct #

  23. lol, see thats why I don't work dayshift, I do things like that to keep out of the way of 'wonderful' supervisors who have nothing else to do but come up with dumb things for the rest of us to do. Sometimes its tiring trying to think of ways to distract them, besides the always trusty, 'Oh, look shiny thing' (while pointing finger in the other direction, up at the ceiling, etc). I think the game design idea is workable.

  24. Cool, see that's what I thought. His reasoning was "Everyone does an office game, you should do something with pirates. Everyone wanted to be a pirate at some point."

I figure the average office person would have fun making fun of their jobs

  25. And my work minefiled is just walking across the hall (while wearing radio headsets and still answering the radios) just to the refrigerator and/or the microwave. Even @ 0600 there are supervisors standing in the hallway waiting to give you something else to do (in your spare time of course, or rather while I stand here looking at you (depending on how they feel)).

  26. Sad.... now go to bed :)

I'm going to peruse the news and drink my Stella :)

  27. Pirates are cool, but he wants pirates because he has a Johnny Depp fascination (and I like JD myself) and wants to do pirate things to get away from real life.

Posted 4 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  28. Yep it is sad, but I laugh at them normally. Still do whatever they want when they are brave enough to approach me with whatever silly project they have....for some reason they think I am mean so they go to the co-workers who will do their bidding w/o ???? on why did you wait so long for this to be done. Well really off, the eyes are burning which is a good indication of being tired....lol I know, go figure. Good luck with the game, and keep at it, draw the instructor a little itty bitty pirate to make him happy or something.

Posted 4 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  29. Yea, he kept going on about it because I mentioned that I was in the Navy. Not sure how an aircraft carrier ties in with pirates, but in his mind it did.
