  1. Morning peeps................. I thought I'd open the Cafe this morning, since we've been slow starting our new threads, and the NS's have blended into the Cafes this weekend...............

.................. the buffets are set up, and include all sorts of delishious offerings, from breakfast fritattas, to blue berry pancakes, cinnamon waffels, with fresh fruits and juices.................... in the Cafe ovens, are large dutch ovens with slow simmering stews for later lunch, chicken and biscuits, pot roast and lamb stews....................... veggies are being slow roasted and pies are ready to pop in when the stews come out..................

................. come in and enjoy your day.............. we can eat and chat all day long, on this beautiful mellow Sunday!

  2. I will have some blueberry pancakes please, with hash browns, and barely cooked bacon. A large ice cold milk and a large ice cold pepsi will round out my breakfast. I will eat in the TDK lounge, where I can talk with my friends while playing with kittens. Thank you.

  3. Morning to all! Good to be here amongst my dear littermates. Its been a very difficult week and I don't want another one like that again anytime soon. My best friend of 33 years from back home found her husband dead on the bedroom floor. He had an aneursym burst and he died unexpectedly. He was only 40. I dropped everything and left and went home to be with her. Work was highly ticked off but that is too bad. Sometimes work just isn't the most important thing. I am a bit worried cause I feel like I might be losing my job. They won't say it's cause I took off for the funeral but I did find my job advertised on the internet!!! Oh well, I am enjoying the day with my girls and will worry about my job tomorrow. :)

  4. Good Morning! I am trying not to worry about tomorrow till tomorrow too. I'd say more but I don't want to think about it. So sorry about your friend's hubby MC.
We had pancakes this morning - a nice change of pace. Found a receipe for buckwheat pancakes so I want to make them one of these days but for today, regular ones were purrfect!
Hi CSBM! Been thinking about you! Are you and the girls getting settled in?
Leela and Comet love weekends - mama's home! Leela gets extra time to purringly pace over my legs before I get out of bed. She's not a frequent purrer so I cherish the moments. Comet always waits outside the shower and shouts at me if I'm taking too long (wonder if he's channeling my father - "finish up in there, shutting the hot water off in 3 minutes!"). Then he flops down on the towel outside the shower door (we have "issues" with bath mats, so we put a towel down when it's shower time) and wants belly rubs. Today we had lots of belly rub time!

  6. Good afternoon everyone :)

Belly scritching sounds like a good way to spend the day. My lot are still refusing to speak to me after their 'cato' rabanne incident 3 weeks ago. This is the longest they've ever been mad at me.

MC, I would be beyond P.O if I saw my job being advertised on the internet. Perhaps you should apply for it??!

  7. Morning everyone, finally home, the crew and outside birds fed and watered and now its time for me to try and lie down for hopefully a good sleep.

MC and Joan, may those powers-to-be tomorrow see the folly of their ways and realize how valuable you both are.

Hope that everyone has a good day or afternoon (I hope I am sleeping thru the afternoon :) )

Oh yeah and wanted to say, when I send out my holiday cards this year....if its the same one I sent last year forgive me....I have 27 boxes of cards that I have acquired and really, truly need to get that number down....there are so many cute ones that I kept buying them, lol! Can't find really, really good ones this year it seems....but that may be a good thing.

  8. .... checking back in.............. I had to run to the grocery and am now making dishes for my Mom's (81) dinner party tonight....... will take them to her later............

....... Joan, worrying won't make tomorrow come any slower/faster :)

..... MC, sorry your week was so bad! CBCM - glad you are settling in.........

..... Sky, good to see you, hope all is well with your crew - they'll come around, they just need to 'punish' you a little more ;)

..... Deb, my friend, I hope you get a nice rest!

  10. Morning everyone, been up to my elbows in homework and demographic data all morning but got that out of the way now and I'm going to play some Sims 3 pets again while Theresa watches lol Casper has been doing very well with the weather turning cold, he's been coming in the house more and even accepting pets. I love my big sweet boy, I wish his issues didn't make him so skittish :(

MC that really sucks. They could at least be honest with you :-/ I sent you an email about the christmas card list. Hope it went through.

  11. Hi Sky, Deb & Kit! *waiving*
AV, what a good daughter you are!
Tasty b-fast CSBM. Personally, though, I found I don't like Greek yogurt. Surprised me, since I love yogurt - guess I'm sticking with Dannon!
Going to (try to) go outside for a bit. The sun is shining and I would love to get some vitamin D on my face. Leela has been following me EVERYWHERE! I'm driving a few miles up the mountain to friend's house - if she were still the travellin' girl she was when she was a baby, I would take her with me!

  12. Joan, both me and my sister are helping - at 81, she just can't do stuff like she used to............ altho, I give her major credit for even trying to host something like that............ sadly, they are mostly a combo of widows and widowers........ most, like Mom have lost their spouses, but still all remain friends.... it's really sweet

  13. Oh boy, I didn't realize how many clothes I had until I tried to put up summer stuff and pull out the winter stuff. Most of it ended up in bags to take to work to some of the girls who really don't have a lot of stuff. The others are going to Goodwill. I am just done with all the excess "stuff" in my life. Pulling out winter coat, electric blanket, gloves, hats and boots. Before I know it, the snow will be flying and Christmas songs will be on the radio. The girls were a big help, jumping in the clothes and in the bags. I made sure the girls were out before tying off the bags. Would hate for them to end up at Goodwill! Now the 3 of us are snuggling, me on the computer, the girls both snoring their little heads off. Watching some football and maybe having a little nap later.

Yes, I did get emails from several TDK family members. Thanks again, I want to make sure that I am not forgetting a single person who wants to be on the list. Remember, just because you are on the list, you don't have to send cards. I have people who want the list for email addy's and mailing addy's.

I am trying to unwind but keep thinking of all the things I need to do before winter hits. I have stuff I want to do outside, including put up the Christmas decorations (NOT turn them on) before it gets too cold and I don't want to go out! LOL

  14. MC, I too have 'purged' a lot over the past 2 years!....... feels good, I certainly don't need all that 'stuff'........ I can't wait to start on my holiday cards........... like Deb, if you get one from me that was the same as last years, forgive me, I buy boxes of Christmas cards all the time, and I have tons left over from last year.................. I'll make sure I write 2011 in my greeting! LOL

  15. Hi all! I agree with Skyron - you should apply for your job, MC!

I can't wait for this weekend to be over! I'm SO busy! I'm watching two houses of dogs that are 20-25 minutes apart. They are also 25-35 minutes from my new apartment which I'm trying to get ready for move-in ( though at least the new paint is a vast improvement over the not-so-mellow yellow! One set of dogs I'm watching includes a 3 month old baby bulldog. He's adorable, but he keeps peeing on stuff and I can't leave them for more than about three hours at a time. Very hard to get anything done!
Anyway, I'll be done tonight and then I can get ready to move hopefully on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll have time to get some furniture on Tuesday, too!

  16. Its so funny, I almost called the "number" attached with my job. I just didn't have the heart to do it. Cause I am totally screwed if I lose my job. As y'all know, I kinda need my health insurance!

    Posted 7 months ago by mollycat71 #

  17. Yes, that's for sure! Did you apply for the vet clinic job?

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  18. Add me to the list of sending last years' cards - I think I bought a lot last year.
AV, my mom, at 85, loves to bake and cook but it is tough sometimes. She likes scoop & bake cookie dough & I just ordered some from my friend's son's school fundraiser. Mom & I agree though, that even though it's messy, home-made meatballs are a must!

Joan, watch out for the scoop & bake cookie dough from the school fundraisers....just bought a 2.5 lb box for $15 and the cookies are good immediately out of the oven but yuck if they sit for a bit afterwards....so make just enough for one sitting.

I don't like the taste of Greek yoghurt either and I have tried so many kinds, including the ones from Trader Joe's.

  20. Just a heads up. My keyboard in my personal laptop just randomly half died, so I jumped on my work one to let you guys know. Hubby is trying to fix it (he had the same laptop but his died a year ago so we're pulling out his keyboard which worked and trying that) if that doesn't work though I won't be on much until I can order a new laptop, which is another expense I didn't need at the moment :-/ So hopefully this will work. Keep your fingers crossed!

  21. Hi all. Argh, just came home from the annual tennis players party (where all they talk about is tennis and I therefore have nobody to talk to & might as well be a potted plant) to find that George barfed on the bedroom rug & one of Mr. K's slippers. Ugh.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  22. Yay it worked!!! He's my hero!!

Posted 7 months ago by Kit #

  23. Yay Kit!!!

Posted 7 months ago by AV #

  25. Poor George!

Came home this morning to yakkage on the front room carpet, thanks guys for sharing.

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  26. Unfortunately no, not contained to the slipper, all over the rug too, which is a nightmare to clean, yuk.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  27. Georgie, way to go, barfing on mr. K's slipper for mKing mommy go to boring party!!

Posted 7 months ago by GD #

  28. Oh, was that what he was doing, GD? Then you're right, good Georgie :)

Actually, he looks kind of sad & was hiding most of the day, either under Mr. K's nightstand or in his closet. I hope he's OK.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  29. Oh no, pooor Georgie!!! I hope he's alright? Maybe he's just feeling bad about the barfing?
