  1. Just opening the Night Shift and then heading back to lying down before going into *that place* for the evening.

Hope that everyone is having a good evening :) Pull up a seat and the kittehs will do their furry little best to provide what you need or want foodwise and drinkwise....and listening if need be....

Glad that this pup is safe and has a new home from the sounds of it...

  2. I did not realize that the USA (NASA in particular) owned the Moon or the right to possess parts of it (such as a sliver of a moon rock)...

  3. :) hey Deb!...... thanks for opening the NS, too many nights have passed without our fountains and neon signs being put out!

...... hope 'that place' is calm for you..... the CCs and girley men need to keep themselves in check! (as if)......

.... just got back from a really nice night, attended a banquet honoring Son's collegues and honor society piers....... I was a proud Mama!..... also met the new GF...... pretty girl, much in line with Son's 'usual kind'.... looks alot like Kira Knightly......... very sweet and down to earth..... we liked her a lot!

  4. ..... hmmmmm..... interesting about the Moon and right to posses.......does anyone really own stuff of such magnitute?

Posted 7 months ago by AV #

  5. AV, I know they need to *chill* out, tonight is my Friday! Congrats on the Son's accomplishments and on meeting the new GF :) I didn't think that we owned anything like that....heck if that's true than I want the star way, way, way to the right of that big shiny thing (the Big Dipper), you know the one, yeah that one...lol!

Ok really going to lie down now for a nap, maybe can get in an hour :)

  6. Deb, have a good rest........................ I'll look into 'collecting' those moon rocks................. can I 'call' the Orion constellation?..... that's always been my favorite and easy to spot! LOL

  7. We don't own the moon itself but since NASA (and therefore the Gov) spent the money to recover said moon rocks they do have a right to own them, just as you would own them if you spent the billions to get up there. I do think however that that was rather nasty of them to treat an old woman like that. I also think the government misunderstands the word "gift" you can gift something and still own it according to the courts in any other cases. i mean it's not like the moon is going anywhere lol we could always make rockets to go back! :P

  8. Hi Deb and AV :) Just popping for a moment before bedtime. Went shopping for Halloween costumes with my friends tonight and sheesh...HUGE markup in those costumes! LOL I'm so cheap... I really want to dress up but not for $50! I've got a couple of days so I'm gonna keep looking...if not, I'm pretty sure the bar doesn't have a prerequisite to dress up lol
Anyways, Mama Roxy and Baby Sawyer say hello, goodnight and sweet dreams! :)
ETA: Hi Kit, you snuck in on me :)

  9. Just stopping in because I happen to be on tonight. Hello to everyone. Kit, if you are still here I have a costuming type of question. Have you ever laundered acetate taffeta? I want to sew a hoodie with sequined taffeta but don't want a dress-up garment. I'm trying to sew a casual wear garment out of dressy material but I want it a little "shabby chic" and to be able to wash it on the delicates cycle, not have to take a hoodie to the dry cleaners!

  10. *Kilroy rocks into the Night Shift, singing Duran Duran songs at the top of her lungs* Actually, I'm doing nothing at the top of my lungs, as I'm hoarse from screaming :)

As of this afternoon Georgie was being very quiet but eating & peeing, so that's good. Vet was supposed to call tonight with an update but must have gotten busy & never called. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Great story about the pup rescued from atop the train, but who would do such a thing? Adorable pup.

  11. Hi Kilroy and other KK. Glad you had a good time at the concert Kilroy and its good that George is functioning at both ends. I'll be thinking of him tomorrow - he'll be fine I'm sure. It's turned into a miserable wet day here - spent about 45 minutes standing in the garden on a traffic island outside my office waiting for the All Blacks victory parade to go past at lunch time and the weather turned from mist to drizzle. But we all shouted ourselves hoarse too!

Posted 7 months ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  12. Hi KK! Hooray for the All Blacks! It's good to have something to cheer about sometimes.

  13. Hi KK and Kilroy!
Glad you had a great time at the concert, Kilroy! I know it's hard to enjoy yourself while Georgie is in the kitty hospital but he is in good hands and I'm sure the vet will call you tomorrow morning. (((Georgie and Kilroy)))

I was almost ready to go to bed but I just saw that Jack the Cat has been found! See the thread I started for more information :)

  14. Hi RM, Kilroy and KpK. I love cat and family reunions, I will be looking forward to Jack pictures. Poor little Jack!

Posted 7 months ago by krazikat #

  15. Just imagine how happy Jack's going to be now. Makes me smile just to think of it.

I'm starting to fade, folks, so am going to take myself off to bed. Hope I can wake up without my furry alarm clock.

Posted 7 months ago by Kilroy #

  16. Evening Shifters, and so many too.
KK, you must have almost taken root in that traffic island garden, I'll look for you on the evening news. My voice is still recovering from yelling myself hoarse during the final of the rugby on Sunday.
It's been a lovely sunny day here and the evening so far is still sunny.

  17. Yay for Jack being found!!! Will read the article when I get to *that place*

Evening Jan, KK, KraziKat, Kilroy (blessings for Georgie in the morning)...

Off I go to follow the yellow brick road or something like that :)

All the best and huge hugs for George tomorrow. HRH Shadz sends a very gentle headbonk for George.

  19. Good evening all! It's nice to see the night shift, too. Kilroy I will be thinking of Georgie!! I haven't been on in a long time but it is nice to see you all!

  20. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2011/10/jack-the-cat-found-at-jfk-airport/

Its so much fun and with great entertainment I am here this fine evening (hears laughter and much coughing from the crowd section over on the left side of the room!)

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  21. Hey, Deb, I missed the parade today, are you holding one of your own this evening... ;-)

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  22. Evening Jane, apparently I am holding my own parade tonight! Its my Friday and it seems that the clowns are gathering (and I do not like clowns)! How was your day?

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  23. Been feeling a bit crook the last couple of days, Deb (tummy problems, as usual) so not wonderful but I did get some work done today and yesterday and it was a yucky, grey, rainy day here, so I didn't mind staying inside. (It rained on KK's parade!) Then I suddenly felt all energetic and made some bread in the breadmaker, a double batch of blueberry muffins for the freezer and some rolled oats and golden syrup cookies for the tin. Now I'm feeling like I ate too many rolled oat cookies...

And I think Millie has finally gone into season, she has been all clingy today and yowling at me like nobody's business. I didn't click for a while, since she still doesn't want to go outside (where it's wet? Are you crazy, meowmy?) and it's me she's yowling at, not any potential boyfriends.... A vet's appointment is being made first thing tomorrow, lol.

  24. Jane, ah ha was wondering this week about our wee little girl, glad that she isn't PMS'ing really badly for your sake and Libs'. Been feeling out of sorts myself all this week, head hurts so much tonight that I want to scream but then again that would make my head hurt so much worse...I don't scream or haven't except for one time in my life.

Posted 7 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  25. Evening my friends.
Ugh! clowns, not my favourite people either.
Yay Jcat, VET spa visit and then no worries. I took Snuggy to the VET yesterday for a pawdicure. While the vet was trimming her claws there was the most horrendous wailing and yowling coming from the room. The receptionist,Airy and I were worried for Mum and the vet but they emerged unscathed. Snuggy is still in a pi**y mood today.
Jcat, I would love your bagel recipe if you would share it with me please.

    Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  26. {{{Deb}}}. Tummy troubles are bad enough but if I had your headaches, I think I would be constantly screaming -- and you're right, it wouldn't actually do any good. Because it was so rainy last night and today, Libs spent most of last night and this afternoon asleep in her chair in the living room and Millie was asleep on the couch and leaving her entirely alone -- YAY! It's almost normal now for them both to be in there just quietly minding their own business, it makes me so happy :-)

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  27. Evening, MS, sure, it's just the one from my Panasonic breadmaker book, I will email it to you tomorrow. I make it in the evening, form the bagels, leave them in the fridge to rise overnight, then do the boiling and baking the next day, so I don't have to make, leave to rise, boil and bake all in the same day or it seems like way too much work, lol. But good bagels are so expensive and these really do come out (and freeze) really well.

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  28. I guess Snuggy's bark is worse than her bite, lol. Millie doesn't say anything, she just runs up the vet's shoulder to get away from him, lol...

I've never liked clowns either, boring, but the things I REALLY hate are cyborgs...

Posted 7 months ago by jcat #

  29. It's so good to hear that Lbs & Millie are getting on now.
    Thanks for the recipe(in advance).
Miss Snuggy's bite is very nasty as is her right and left hook. She bit/scratched Mum very badly when they were first getting to know each other and sort out who was the boss. Mum was a regular at the Doctors surgery getting tended to or having dressings changed. They began to wonder if she didn't have a lion instead of a tuxi.

    Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  30. Ohhhh, I'm glad your mum stuck it out. I hope Miss Snuggy has better manners now.
