  1. Oh, GD that would have been a great idea! I was going to say you'd love a summer Christmas but it would still probably be warmer for you if you stayed home!

  2. It'll probably be in the 70s here for Christmas. I like the cooler (not cold!) temps.

Went to the apartment and they still didn't connect the power. Grrr! I was going to have XBF over to do a couple of handyman jobs for me! The last couple of times I've been over there, I've been hearing squeaking noises from the ceiling. I'm going to have XBF investigate to see if it's mice. There's no way I'm going to move in if there's mice!!!

  3. I wouldn't either, GD.

Almost time for me to go home, but I'm sitting here with a knot in my stomach because I think Mr. K's going to yell at me when I get home & I don't know what he's mad about.

    Gad I hate this.

  4. You can borrow my whackbonk stick if you want to Kilroy . . .

  5. GD, you could always sit your boys down & have 'the talk' with them. You know, the one about food not always coming out of neatly vaccuum packed containers?

  6. Stop on the way home to get a nice bottle of wine and breeze through the door with a smile on your face. If he's still in a grump, pour yourself several glasses of wine and hit him over the head with the empty bottle. Seriously, I bet you're worrying over nothing. You probably rang when he was in the bathroom!

  7. Sky, I'm certain Mi espcially would take care of any mice. He's been getting a lot of practice with lizards and frogs. Bobby is more interested in flies - he's amazing at catching them in the air!

Anyway, I'll see what XBF says and if he says mice, I'm calling the property manager and demanding they get an exterminator out or I will not live there!
I'm not sure it's mice. A cat lives in one of the other 2 apartments there, and at least 3 outside. I And I have found no droppings anywhere. It's all tile, so I would have noticed. I looked en every cabinet and nothing. I did find a hole in one, but not sure how long it's been there and if it's a mouse hole. I taped over it with painter's tape. My co-worker had mice last year and she recommended leaving a banana in the kitchen till tomorrow and see what happens. So that's what I did - I sure hope the banana is still there and intact tomorrow!

  8. Well GD, if the banana is intact you either have NO mice or AV is living there!

  9. Hello! Boy am I glad I'm outa there for the day! GD, if you lived next door, I would send Comet to exterminate potential mice. He would probably do it for a pat on the head!
Kilroy, I totally understand, I really do. Hoping it's one of those "blow-over" things, which I've never understood. Big deal, silent treatment, then everything's fine; I will never understand.
Tomorrow I face the music. Questions starting with "how come", "why", "you should have", etc, followed by "please give me" "I need", etc. sigh...
In my defense: Hey, I got the job done! (won't say that though)

  10. Lol, yes :)

  11. (((Joan))) I hate those situations! I'm sure it's all going to be alright. Just own up to what you did, apologize if necessary (only if you did something wrong) - I find people respect that so much more than someone who is making up excuses and trying to blame others for their mistakes.

I don't know how Milo (and Comet) would get up in the ceiling and get those mousies, Joan. I haven't heard anything from other tenants. I'm sure if it were mice they would know by now and the problem would be taken care of. It may be (fingers crossed!) an a/c unit or some sort of machinery. It's quite noticeable, and I can hear it outside at the side of the house under the roof overhang as well, so the others must hear it as well.

  12. Hello everyone!!!
Sorry you still have no power GD. Hope you find out what the noise is too. That is adorable how Bobby catches flies. Awwww.... He is SO cute, as is Mi. :) I love hearing about everyone's kitties, and their antics. :)Great Dane, XBF is sure a great friend to you and is always there when needed. What a blessing.
    HUGS for Joan!!
TOO funny about either no mice or AV living there, GD!!! HA HA! :) Cause of the banana!
