  1. Welcome to the NS, the kits are dressed in costume and have the lights dim. Jack o Lanterns are lit, the fireplace is roaring, and there are orange and purple lights decorating the room. There is a Halloween movie on the big screen tv and there are kittens bobbing for mice. The buffet is set up with warm fall soups and there are sandwiches to go with the soup. Big crusty breads are available for dipping in your soup. The bar is open and ready to serve you whatever you desire. There are all sorts of treats that were made by the kits today. Come on by and say hello!

  2. Evening, MC! How are you? How are things with your job? I'm exhausted and actually about to hit the sack a couple of hours earlier than usual. Got a lot accomplished today, though - work, dog-sitting at two houses, work with XBF at the apartment, shopping for a few odds and ends and finally found a couch liked. I should get delivered in about 72 hours they say - so I'm almost ready to move in!

  3. Forgot to mention - no mice! XBF opened the door to the attic and checked things out, and the squeaky noise I was hearing was from an attic fan. Yay!

  4. Oooh, bobbing for mice - Comet thinks that sounds fun! The wormhole seems to be blocked by snow, though.
GD, glad you got things accomplished and found a couch, yay!
I'm signing off - the power is flickering quite a bit. See you on the flip side!

  5. Hi all! Sorry, me and the girls fell asleep watching tv. I woke up to go to the bathroom. I am afraid that Monday I might be "let go" at work. It's been so tense around work since my friend died and it seems nothing I do is right. My co-worker and I that have been together for 10+ years have not been allowed to work at the same facilities at the same times either. They say that we are simply "too much trouble" together. If, by questioning what is going on, is trouble then I guess we are. She got into a heated discussion with out new boss this week that resulted in her leaving early. I thing, tried to clear the air, only to find myself also in trouble. Work is no longer fun, I dread it dearly, and IF I don't get let go this week, I am very seriously persuing new options. I have printed many copies of my resume' and have been persuing a license in Wisconsin to keep my options open. Who knows? Maybe now is the time for a change in careers. I have been bummed all week but know that the environment I am currently in is not for me. It's a shame but everyone is going to eventually leave. We WERE a good group but with the new management, no one wants to be around anymore.

Sorry to bore y'all with the details...

  6. {{{MC}}} You're not boring anyone - we care and you know it. I will be thinking of you on Monday. The atmosphere by me has changed terribly. What once was cohesive is just...not. I don't know why I bothered with the football pool - no one talks.

  7. Joan, the same is true with us. My dear co worker and I both have been together for 11 years, everyone else is new. We are "old school" so to speak and when we both found our jobs listed on Craigslist last weekend, we saw the writing on the wall. I am not sure if it is the economy or what, but work is really really really hard anymore. For most people I know, they are happy they are employed, but work is just changed nowadays. I really used to love my work and my coworkers, not so much now.

  8. Peeks in and hears the soothing sounds of kitties tails swishing slowly and the overhead fans slowly turning. The jukebox in the corner is playing soft tunes so all the kittehs are sleeping.

  9. {{{MC and Joan}}} Believe me I understand your feelings about our places of w**k. Hope that both of you get a good nights sleep.

  10. Evening MC,Joan and Deb. Sorry yu all have w**k place hassles.
The MS's are busy watching TV abut lions and cheetahs and leopards while our own 'big' cat is sitting restlessly on Mr MS"s lap whipping her tail about.
LOL, Shadz just jumped and became very alert when a leopard cub squarked on the TV, she is now staring at the TV intently.

  14. Our cats may be domesticated but the wild isn't very far away.
ROTFL at the kitty that gets the costume off. Reminds me of the one and only time we tried putting a collar on her, she did a very credible imitation of a bucking bronco, tore the collar off. She left the room at high speed while tossing us the stink-eye.

  15. Oh how I know it, the hawk was in my birdbath today and there were four very, very interested kittehs staring thru the backdoor window @ the hawk :)

  16. I have been ***trying*** to put a harness onto both Red and Kitty so I could let them out in the backyard......what a feat that is or actually the attempt is a feat because I have not succeeded as of yet!

  17. Perseverance Deb.
My 'big cat' is curled up in the beanbag sound asleep now and I won't be long out of bed myself. Just need to make Mr MS's lunch for w**k tomorrow and then I'm off.

    Posted 6 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  18. Wish it were time for me to head out of here but I still have another 4 hrs to go. You would laugh seeing them attack the harness when they see it on the floor, its too funny.

  20. Hee hee, I guess they think it is a wonderful new kind of toy, Deb.

  21. LOL, death to the harness! ! Meowwwwwwwww
All my jobs done and HRH has been catnapped and taken up to Airy's room. Time for me to head to bed now. I'm going to need a good nights sleep if I have to help Mum finish off her rock garden tomorrow.
Nighty night all. Deb, sweet dreams when your shift is done. Chin scritches to the crew.
Headbonks to all the other kitties, have a great Sunday everyone.

  23. Evening Jane!!!

G'night Jan, sleep well and have sweet dreams, scritches to HRH in the morning....good luck with finishing the rock garden.

  24. Nighty-night, Jan, sweet dreams and sleep well for tomorrow's hard labour, lol. Don't worry, I am going to try for an early (well, earlier) night myself tonight. I am in the final stages of editing a 17,000 word paper that has to be done urgently and if I can get up in good time tomorrow to finish it all off, that would be a bonus! I have a friend coming to stay the weekend too, so will have to spruce up the house a bit (not quite as much as last time, thank goodness).

Posted 6 months ago by jcat #

  25. Jan you are a busy one, but it will feel good to get the paper done and have your friend come visit :) Still having a problem sometimes with my emails to you but I have no idea why.

Posted 6 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  26. Oh, Deb, sorry about that. It's not like my inbox is full or anything. Let me know if it keeps happening and I'll ring my provider to ask why.

Posted 6 months ago by jcat #

  27. I will, have no idea why since it seems that you get the ones from here. So besides being busy with editing and baby girl (she goes to the v-e-t tomorrow doesn't she) how have you been?

Posted 6 months ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  28. Ahhh, so it's the ones from your home address that aren't getting through? I'll definitely have to check that out, Deb, but you're in my address book so they should be getting through...

No, unfortunately the tortie terror doesn't go for her spa day until Tuesday... She was mostly good today, since I was proofreading, which means we can snuggle up on the couch together -- it's when I'm on the computer that she starts caterwauling. She has pushed nearly everything off the desk tonight though in a quest to chase moths...

  29. It was such a lovely day here today, Deb, and we had the highest temp in the country, that I was dying to go outdoors into the garden but alas ... had to work, darnit. So nothing interesting happened...
