Yep, 19" total here. Stayed warm and cozy by the fire. Didn't lose power (so far, eep!) - it flickered off and on a lot though. There's a wire from my house to the pole that's encased in a huge mound of snow. The winds are picking up today and snow and leaves and branches are falling. Sunrise was spectacular, then when the sunlight hit tops of trees it was a brilliance of color - snow on the fir trees, snow on trees with fall foliage, all against a bright blue sky.
The black kitties are setting up another fantastic feast. They have the same decorations, and they heard about about the snow and have decided that just outside the north side of the cafe, there will be a winter wonderland. It's funny to see the contrast of black cats with their orange hats and scarves and mittens making snow-kitties and having snowball fights. (Me? I think I'll hang out on the south side, in a beach chair, with my witch hat on, catching some rays!)

Something is really wacked with our weather. Usually it's my part of the country that has this snow by now! Nope, sky is bright blue, leaves are falling like crazy, but not a snowflake in sight. Hope you'll be able to get out tomorrow for work, Joan, but meanwhile enjoy the comfort of home and keeping my fingers crossed, that you won't lose power. Hugs!

Hi PJ - it's crazy out there! The ground is not frozen, so the roads should melt. Will still have to watch out for stuff that re-freezes overnight, but even my backroad is looking slushy (a plow actually came thru!) and should melt. I just had a sweatshirt on and the sun felt great on my face. Neighbor says that a pole snapped in half out on the main road and is resting on power lines. So they may have to cut power when uprighting it. Shoveled a bit (stupid tendonitis); when the wind picks up, HUGE chunks of snow fall from trees!

Hi Joan! I'm glad you're safe & sound. Hope it all melts away with no hassles.
We got our new fridge set up, but in the midst of all the chaos we forgot to give Georgie his morning Clavamox - I know, I suck :( I just managed to do it by myself (Mr. K bailed out to the gym) and now George is sulking. Guess I'm always the bad guy.
-
Wow! Sounds a little rough up there. Hopefully if they cut the power it won't be off too long. Down here we rarely see snow. Last year was unusual with snow, the only white Christmas I've ever had and then a super ice storm that shut everything down for 5ish days. We just don't have the equipment for that kind of stuff since it happens so rarely :)
Today is my first anniversary so I won't be around much. Our party went great last night! almost all the beef stew was eaten but there was so much food brought we still have tons left over so I won't have to worry about cooking today at all or for the next few days. Gotta do a bit of school work now and then we just get to relax the rest of the day and we're going out to eat tonight for the first time in months so that will be nice too :) Hope everyone's day goes well!

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY KIT!!!
Kilroy, I'm the bad guy in the house too when it comes to medicine; I understand the "I suck" and being on the receiving end of the stink eye!

Morning everyone!
Heading off to bed now and hoping for some good shut-eye, they sky is way too blue without a cloud in sight....sleep mask is called for I do believe.

Deb, have a good rest............. yes, I think the mask is called for........ I'm going to try and take a nap before the party tonight..........otherwise, I might yawn my way through dinner!
........ Kilroy, glad you got the new frige!.......and Georgies patch comes of tomorrow! yay!
-
Glad you got the new fridge, Kilroy. It's a drag being without one.
Hope Deb is snoozing as I type this. I would love to have had a nap today but the day got away from me. I channeled my inner kid and made a snow-witch. Hey, how often do you get a chance to put a witch hat on a snowman? She will probably be melted by tomorrow when it warms up but I suppose that's how a witch is supposed to go - a la Wizard of Oz. Hi Joan. Well done for making a snow witch! We had one of our warmest days yet this Spring yesterday so there was definitely no snow action around my way - lots of people out on the beach though. I had a lovely walk in the morning while miniKK was at soccer training. Then I relaxed and read magazines in the afternoon. My in-laws in Tacoma send us a pile of all sorts of magazines every month - a diverse range such as Country, Reminisce, New York, The Nation, The Week, Family Circle, South Dakota Magazine. They used to send the New Yorker which I loved but they have stopped that - which gives me time to catch up the 3 years worth I have on the floor - I'm still reading about the run-up to the last election! Obama isn't even president yet!
I hope all of you TDKers in the North East are staying warm and safe. I saw that Dorie had a tree crush her shed. I hope no-one else suffers any damage.

Amazing weather! And a great idea making the snow witch. Maybe you can put a broom next to it and a bucket of water, if it doesn't freeze over. Got any winged monkeys to place next to it? Green dye to douse it with? The ideas are endless.
Thank you for the kind words about my Halloween poem. Yours is the first comment, and I will always be grateful for your support.

All we have is rain today, big surprise lol, this is Washington state. Hopefully it clears up by tomorrow though, I want to hike Oyster Dome once more this fall, before the streams get to hard to cross.

Hola, greetings & salutations one and all. So the nap was short but at least it was one :) Found the best sleep mask so far, its soft without being obnoxiously soft and actually fits really well across my eyes...and the funny thing is that I got it @ Ross so it didn't cost as much as a couple of others that I have.

Hi Carnivorelvr. Whereabouts in lovely WA are you? I have family in Tacoma and I love the Pacific Northwest. I live in New Zealand so I don't get over there as often as I'd like.

Actually I have a black broom; it's about 100 years old & I use it all the time!
Welcome CLVR! Yep, guess the weather is quite different where you are!Posted 6 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Joan, those old brooms usually fly best. ;-)

Joan, that is so very cool about the black broom :)

Hi, everyone, just checking in during my lunch hour. Wee Millie is going for her spa day tomorrow, I can't wait, she has been mostly pretty good but SOOOO loud! Serves me right for letting the time fly past...
Eek, Deb, my dad used to get nose bleeds, sign of too high blood pressure! Are you being monitored? I worry about you, my friend. {{{HUGS}}} Every day is not good.
Joan, glad you're safe and sound. Happy Anniversary, Kit! Was hoping to hear from MC, she was so worried about today and her work sounds absolutely horrible now.
-
Afternoon Jane, yes I am taking my bp meds and being monitored too, hate those things. Soon Wee Millie will be over her loudness, unless she has found she likes that voice :) Don't know if MC was working today or not, think she had the weekend off.
Happy Anniversary Kit!

Ahhh, I forgot, it's still Sunday over there, isn't it! I'm glad you are being well taken care of, Deb, my evenings would be very lonely without you and MS to chat too. Miss Millie has always talked a lot, and that's fine, I love vocal kitties, it's just the shrieks as if she's being murdered that I can do without and for the first few days, she was doing A LOT of that, lol.
-
Lol, oh yeah the sound of the moose-in-heat thing can get on the last nerve :) I love talky kittehs too, Haje is a tattle tale when I get home, he tells me everything that everyone has done :) Going to lie back down, need to get up earlier tonight as we are doing Halloween of a sort @ that place and I am picking up the pizzas on the way in. Supposed to all be dressing up but I couldn't find anything I liked so wearing a Halloween T-shirt with a cat on it....Give me a treat, Cats don't do tricks!

Thinking of maybe taking an actual vacation for a couple of days, this place looks peaceful (no I don't fish, hunt but I do hike).

Awwww, Haje is on your side, bet the others get really cross with him and give him a whap when you're not looking, hee hee. Have a great nap, Deb, catch you later!
Ooh, that place looks cool, that is the one drawback of NZ, evergreen bush -- no fall colours, unless you go way down south! Definitely a great time to go for a break!

Joan, I like your broom! Halloween is my niece's favourite holiday, so I always try to get her something fun. This year I got her a sign that lights up, showing a witch on her broom with the message "Broom Parking - Lot Full". She sent me a pix of it in her window. If I could figure out how, I'll try to post it here.
