  5. PIE.

Pie makes every day better. When you're having a crappy day, Dr. Siobhan sez to take one or two slices of pie internally. Take with milk or beverage as desired. Repeat as necessary.

  9. Oh, Tiger is a sweet little adorable bundle of awwwwwwwww. What evil creature would put such a sweet thing in a dumpster in Minnesota in the cold??? Here's hoping she's forgotten all about it now that she's inside and warm.

  10. Amen to that, Kilroy! Okay, been taking a break, bizzy, bizzy, bizzy at work and need to get back to it. I'll have a nice hot chai, please. Have "brown bag" training from 1100-1300... ugh... See y'all later and have a great day everyone!

  11. Greetings everyone, trying to decide what I want to do today. I need to look for a small desk/table for my printer but just haven't found one yet. Also need to clean house, not really feeling that right at the moment.

Hope that all of you have a good day :)

  16. Wow, 'puter guy was here installing stuff & it took a while but now back for a bit before I head out for my "pie" meet up tonite!

  17. I'm so jealous that you guys have restaurants that do pies. Pie is not a big thing here in SA. I've always wondered about cherry pie :)

I'm a bit sad tonight. Installed a cat flap on the back door today. All the cats took to it right away, except for Stumpie. He understands that he can go out through it, but he cant figure out getting back in. I showed him, I tried tempting him with treats. He goes out without missing a beat, and then he just sits & cries in front of the door to be let back in. My poor little boy :(

  18. {{{Stumpie}}}

Sky, do you bake? Maybe we can get a cherry pie receipe to you. I don't suppose stores carry cherry pie filling?

Posted 6 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  19. I looove baking :) but no, never even heard of cherry pie filling. We do occassionally get fresh cherries though?

Posted 6 months ago by Skyron #

  20. I have to admit, when I make a cherry pie, it's with the pie filling and I've gotten even lazier and buy the ready-made pie crusts too. A cherry pie make with fresh cherries sounds heavenly!

  21. That recipe looks really good. Love the conversion calculator right on the page. Just one question though - what is tapioca? What does it do? Is it a flavour agent, or a shortening??

Posted 6 months ago by Skyron #

  22. Tapioca is a root starch - it's usually made into tapioca pudding. Amazing what I take for granted around here, but mama would be proud of what I remember! I'm thinking it would be for texture - to give the cherries a creamy sauce to sit in.

  23. Hi all! Hope everyone is having a great day! I'm exhausted! The time change does NOT agree with me - I have such a hard time staying awake at work at night! Of course it doesn't help that I've been up since 5:00 and that I've been running non-stop all day and don't have time for even small naps this week.
Today I saw 8 dogs! Walking two at two houses and went to meet 4 that I'm going to watch for the long weekend, starting tomorrow - so tomorrow I'll be taking care of 8 dogs! At least it pays some bills and I can buy some furniture I badly need.

Posted 6 months ago by GD #

  24. {{{GD}}} Get some rest, girl! I get exhausted just reading all you do! Sure wish I could give you my nice rocker/recliner...

Posted 6 months ago by Jetta and Boo Boo's Mom #

  25. Wow 8 dogs? Good for you! Sit and have a massage. Nice of you to make money to buy furniture that the cats can scratch...

Comet wants to say hello to everyone here. He has stopped to rest for a minute. We have a few ladybugs in the house and they fly too high for him to reach so he's been running and jumping and meowing in frustration!

Posted 6 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  26. JBBM I wish you were closer, I would love a rocker/recliner. We were going to take Aunt M's, but it got wet in the flood and we couldn't get the smell out. I had hesitated on it but when we put her couch in the living room, the red rocker looked like it would work out. Then Irene came along...

  27. Hey GD! Does all this dog watching/walking/sitting mean that you are secretly a dog-person at heart? I'm so not a dog person. Have 2 of them, and they are very sweet, Rubster is also very intelligent, but they are just too needy. And clingy.
Thanks for the tapioca explanation Joan. I'll have to scratch my head a little to figure out what I can use to substitute for that. Only thing I can think of atm is cornstarch.

Posted 6 months ago by Skyron #

  28. I wonder if you could substitute the whole filling with some vanilla pudding and mix it with the cherries?
