Piglet wanted to know what Veteran's Day was, so I told him that every year humans pay tribute to those people and animals, both living and over the Bridge, who protect us in war. He convinced me to extend Veteran's Day to Veteran's Weekend and move breakfast to the roller rink this morning. He's got all sorts of fun things ready at the snack bar; veterans, active military, and military families get free goodies. The retractable roof is officially closed for the season; it's just way too cold. The small rink, however, will be flooded and frozen to create a temporary ice skating surface until the ice skating annex is complete. I promise: no Christmas music yet (not until the day after Thanksgiving; I'm old-school like that), but Pumpkin will spin tunes at your request.

Good morning, all!! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm looking forward to an if not relaxing, then at least less busy weekend. Working 8 to 1 today and then dogsitting four dogs at one house till late tomorrow night.
I secured the dog-walking gig for at least one more week next week, so I will be busy again. Because of that, I really wanted to go to IKEA and some thrift stores and get some stuff for the apartment this weekend. But get this - I finally got my new bank all set up, but now I have to wait for a credit card to come in the mail. At any other bank, I could just go withdraw the cash for the shopping expedition, but wouldn't you know, I just realized I picked a bank that's closed on Saturdays!!! Arrrrgh! (Of course I realized that yesterday, on Veteran's Day, when it was also closed so I couldn't get money). -

Good Morning! I was just thinking of the roller rink yesterday. The kitties knew it was a special day, and wanted to do something special this weekend. Their ice skates have come out of their storage spot; Leela is wearing a red shimmery dress, Comet is wearing blue overalls, and they're coming thru to skate for the day. Glad Pumpkin is feeling better. Whoosh!

Leela is back skating at the rink now. I took her to the vet a little while ago. She was sneezy and had some discolored discharge in her nose. Poor thing had some nervous accidents; I was prepared with cleanup supplies. She got an ouchy shot. She yelled at me on the ride there, and grumbled, whined and growled during the visit. She forgave me shortly after we got home, though. Hopefully she will shake whatever is going on and we won't have to go back.

Can I ask for TDK prayers for my brother, he had a heart attack this morning. Currently they have him on a ventilator in the ICU in a California hospital and awaiting tests to return.

The cave looks like it would be fascinating to see. At least my brother is stable with meds in ICU, wish he would do better and recover but thats in the hands of time.
