  2. Wow, let's see:

    1. CW, I'd love to have lunch next time you're in the Lenox area! Just let me know. Is the spa in Asheville the Grove Park Inn?

    2. Catherine, don't be jealous. You at least don't have to fight the traffic we do! :)

  3. Come on up and see us, GD! Atlanta's a straight shot up the Interstate!

Posted 4 years ago by Bellantara #

  4. But you guys also have a decent transit system. Such a thing is practically non-existant across most of Texas.

  5. With luck, I may get a business trip in to West Palm Beach or Atlanta this year. Maybe I can meet up with some of you then.

  7. *Gives 2b a large cup of strong coffee* We're all entitled to a little whine (and wine) now and then, don't feel bad! (((hugs)))

  8. bellantara, it IS the Grove Park Inn! Massages, nature walks, underground grotto swimming pool...never been there, just saw the ads.

Catherine, in Atlanta there is MARTA, but if you are heading out to the burbs, thereis nothing but highways that look like parking lots from 6:30-10 am and 3:30-7 pm.

  11. That sounds like Dallas traffic, CW. But I'm still not convinced there's any place that has traffic as bad as Dallas or Houston.

  12. On the bike, bellantara?

I DO hear that Atlanta is cool, though! Hmmmmm. My only encounter with Atlanta was when I thought (I was young and idiotic!) it would be cool to go to NY by Greyhound to see the country a bit, instead of flying! Arrrrgh, didn't know much back then. Anyway, bus was old and once we hit Atlanta, in the middle of the night, the bus got stuck in the middle of an intersection. The driver couldn't get it into gear. We were there for over an hour before he got it going again. The whole time, he was heckled by a group of guys at the end of bus. I was not feeling entirely safe!

  13. Still peeking in..Catherine..try LA traffic...smog....augh

  14. 2b! Sorry you have to work and not hang here with us. But as a salesperson, I know how important those commission checks are. :-)

  15. Ooops, forgot that's how you get around, GD! *Sorry*

Posted 4 years ago by Bellantara #

  16. GD, I kinda envy you, as my car insurance is due and also my registration, have to get my emisions done again...ugh...my dream life would be living in a shore town, biking to work and the library. Probably not so poetic in real life though.

  17. True. I've never driven in LA or New York.

    Posted 4 years ago by Cats4Cats #

  18. I've driven in NY--it took a few years off of my life!

Posted 4 years ago by Catwoman #

  19. You guys have no idea how cool 'driving through NY' sounds to a European...

Posted 4 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

  20. You have no idea how cool "driving through Madrid (Paris, London, Rome, Nice, Milan, Berlin ...)" sounds to an American.

  21. PM, I would love to show you around NY! I grew up at the Jersey Shore and it was an easy train ride into the city. I brought my sister there in the summer of 2006. We saw a show on Broadway (The Color Purple) visited St. Patrick's Cathedral, strolled 5th Avenue, ate at Bubba Gumps' over Times Square, had drinks at midnight at the Hard Rock Cafe...it was awesome! My sister was afraid of NYC and had mace in her pocket, but it is much safer now than it used to be.

  22. I'd settle for walking through any of those!

Posted 4 years ago by Bellantara #

  23. Catherine, you are right! You should see the look on people's faces when I say off-handedly that I will be in Madrid this month! It sounds like I am a jet-setter, when in reality I have only been out of the states to go to Bermuda on my honeymoon until now.

Posted 4 years ago by Catwoman #

  24. Mmmm I've been lucky to personally know all those cities Catherine...
One day I will cross the 'pond' and find out how all those wonderful treats you all post in the café taste like!

Posted 4 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

  25. Wow, PM! Have you really been to all of those places?! Even Berlin???

Posted 4 years ago by Catwoman #

  26. Yes I have travelled a lot because of my work and for pleasure too!
I speak French and defend myself in Italian... cool huh?

Posted 4 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

  27. (not a word of German though!)

Posted 4 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

  28. Wow, I am SO impressed. I only speak English. *hangs head in shame*

Posted 4 years ago by Catwoman #

  29. No need to be impressed Catwoman! I'm just lucky!
In Europe most people talk two or three languages... it's called survival.

Posted 4 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

  30. I thought I was picking up som Spanish from my language CD's, but yesterday a woman came to the cosmetics counter where I was working and I couldn't understand a word she was saying in Spanish. Now I know why one of the phrases taught on the CD is "Pleas speak more slowly"
