She was a sweet tortie, so mellow I sometimes wondered if she was really a cat. Waiting for her at the bridge will be her first dog Lucy who she thought of as her mother. Then her other dog Cassidy will be there, too and Spooky the kitty in my Avatar. They were good friends. Also Tessie but they weren't so good of friends. It has been a day of memories. She was 17 and it seemed like she just went downhill in a matter of days. She told me it was time. I'm sad but happy that she is not in any pain and is probably running about the meadow playing with her animal companions of the past.

So sorry, CTR. I'm glad she told you. Isn't it wonderful that we can give our loving and devoted companions such an incredible gift by being with them and helping them cross painlessly to the Bridge and the Meadow. My Jetta was an old gal, too, and I'm sure she has welcomed Sophie with her knowing look and they will be good friends enjoying the sunbeams! My peace to you.

I'm so sorry, CTR, she was a pretty girl. I know she's happy at the Meadow; she's even playing nice with Tessie. Your heart is in pain right now but it knowing you gave her the last and most loving gift you could will help.

CTR, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sophie certainly lived to a grand age. How lovely that she thought a dog was her Mama and they'll be reunited now.

I'm so sorry, CTR. Sophie sounds beautiful and I have a real soft spot for torties. I bet Lucy will be so excited to see her, she'll be barking up a storm. I bet she had the most wonderful life with you, living till 17 is a grand age and it's great she didn't suffer a long decline. {{{{Hugs}}}} It's so hard to let them go though.

((CTR))) I am so sorry. Sophie lived to a nice age and you got to spend her life with her. That is such a gift. It's so hard to let go, and it's not fair that we have to, she will be waiting for you :)

I can picture Sophie and Tansey in tortie beautifulness, snoozing in the sunshine in the Meadow. Fur glistening with health, no pain, no stiff joints...
It is so hard to say goodbye. In a way, I'm glad Sophie went so quickly. It's heartbreaking to watch a very slow decline.

CTR, I am so sorry to learn of the loss of Sophie. Although 17 years is a long time to have shared your lives, it doesn't make it a bit easier to say goodbye.

The Wolf grins, and a slow chuckle works upward from his chest as he watches Sophie and her four friends stalking the largest butterfly in the Meadow.
"Betcha can't!" teases Tessie, smiling at the pretty tortoiseshell cat. Sophie giggles and rests her head against Tessie's back.
"Be nice now," warns Lucy. She knows the two are playing and that the Meadow is where Tessie finds friendship with Sophie. However, they are both rather feisty in that life....
Cassidy and Spooky crouch down, tails lashing. The lovely white cat springs into the air after the huge yellow and orange butterfly.
The butterfly huffs off, indignant that such games are still played here.
"You almost got him!" shouts Sophie, her beautiful fur like an autumn leaf against the green grass. She turns and sees the Wolf standing behind her and looking down with such affection at her, at Sophie, at all of them, that her heart blooms in her chest.
"My dear Sophie," and he smiles as she and her family move about him, in love with each other and this Life after life.

CTR, I'm so sorry for you loss. Losing them is never easy but bless you for having the courage to love her to the end. My Sammie is pushing 17 and I can't bear to think of what will happen in my house when her time comes.
Emma, you are, as always, a purrrrfect gem!
