ok, they are remodeling my office so they have stuck my department in a rented building across the street. There are about a dozen women and one bathroom in the rented space. As if this wasn't aggravating enough. One of the women cut another woman's hair in the bathroom yesterday. She used to cut hair for a living and still does it some on the side. So we are not talking about a quick little trim process. They took over the bathroom for over an hour. Needless to say, there was a line. I work in an accounting office, not a salon. Then of course, it took the haircut recipient for freaking ever to sort of clean up the mess. I was the next person in line and so the benefactor of the hair covered bathroom. First of all, who actually thinks that it is appropriate to give/receive haircuts at work? Secondly, at what point does someone decide that it is acceptable to occupy the single bathroom for over an hour. Finally, seriously, um, this is an office, not a salon. We are all adults and this is a real job. At least pretend to be somewhat professional.

That really sucks that you had this happen, MeezerMama. The nerve of that woman! I think someone should mention to the haircutter that the office is not the appropriate place to cut someone's hair and that she find another place to do it since you all do not work in a salon.

Oh you ask so much of them, to be professional on top of it all.....silly, silly woman! No its not appropriate to take over the only bathroom for that length of time, how rude of both women. Sorry for being unfluffy there for a minute.

I think I would have asked them to get out. That's ridiculous.

Well I passed it up their chains of command. Since neither of them answer to me, I am not going to come down on them directly.
I would have asked them to get out had I known what was going on in there. I didn't put all the pieces together until haircut recipient came out with the broom and there was hair all over the floor.
And yeah 2b, ewe. Do like everyone else and schedule these things when you aren't at work.
I didn't say to be professional. I said to pretend. Play on the internet at your desk or something:) At least make it look like you are working.

We'll see if anything happens. The hair cutter's entire chain of command is male and lets her get away with pretty much anything because she looks like a porn star. The recipient's boss answers to my boss so I went about that one from that direction. He was none too thrilled.

OMG!! The haircutter's supervisor just confronted her about it and guess what she had the nerve to say?
.
.
.
"Well, can I do it outside?"
Her supervisor changed his plans and is having lunch with his supervisor. Guess that was crossing the line with him.Posted 4 years ago by MeezerMama in OK; 10/23 #

Wow, maybe there is justice afterall. Hope that gets the message across to everyone..to be more sensitive of the shortage of available bathrooms, etc.

Maybe she can get a job.....as a haidresser!

Maybe there is a market for that. Scandalously dressed, traveling hairdresser will cut hair at your office. At least it would work as a plot line for a certain type of movie.

We had a lady at my office who was the same type of person. On my last week there she came in wearing a black, backless dress with plunging cleavage so you knew she couldn't have a bra on underneath, and considering how clingy the dress was she was either wearing a thong made of dental floss or nothing.
Since I was leaving anyway I just looked at her and said "Just got off your night job, huh?"
I don't think she got it cause she just gave me a blank look

I may have to steal that line from you! That's fantastic.

When I was service-writing for an auto shop several years ago, there was a little girl who drove parts for O'Reily Autoparts that must have liquid-injected herself into her jeans every morning. She looked like a porn star, too - but not in an attractive way, if that makes sense. She had to quit driving parts when she got pregnant, and the replacement drivers kept asking me if I was the dad. Keep in mind that I never saw this girl except for across the counter when she brought us parts at work. I guess there was talk of more parts business going on at O'Reily than you would imagine. *shudder*
