Poor Millie! Hope Libby shakes the snufflys too. I'm afraid they tend do worry us quite a bit, don't they?
GD, pt doesn't know you very well :) - rest? Ha! Anyway, hope that strained muscle eases.
Haven't seen yakkage since we just before we went away for a weekend. (Now I've jinxed us!)
Deb, hope you feel better.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, from our home to yours! I'm off to make apple crisp and peel some potatoes. I'll finish that tomorrow and probably do the stuffing tommorow as well. Have a bit of a headache from another --- day in paradise so I'd like to kick back and relax.

My Thanksgiving is postponed to Friday at 4pm. My sister is sick and it's more important for her to rest (she has to work Friday - hospital and she just got this PT job after being out of work for three years) and I can leave the turkey to keep thawing in the fridge (but was ready to soak it in sink earlier).
The cats arrive tomorrow! My brother will be over in the morning to move the "stuff" and then we will go get them. I'll plug the Feliway in before I go to his house (it's only 3 miles). I'll take pictures, too! What is a good free site to do photo's on? I had a FLICKR account but cannot remember my log in or password :(
Y'all have a good night and I'll try and check in later.
Happy Thanksgiving my friends!

What is wrong with the DOH in NYC.....

Hi everyone. I hope Millie improves soon. Dara has a permanent case of the snuffles and sneezes - poor thing sounds so congested when she is trying to bathe herself. I did try lysine but it made no difference. Every now and then when she gets really bad MrKK will take her to the vet and they'll give her something that temporarily improves the situation. I have to persuade him to take her in before she goes to the cattery for Christmas.
Deb, I hope you feel better soon too or we'll send you off to the vet with Dara!
Not doing Thanksgiving here in our Kiwi/American household. For one thing it's hard to just find turkey portions to cook and for another I won't be home for dinner tonight as I have a hair appointment. I did leave MrKK and miniKK with some pesto stuffed chicken breasts though.Posted 6 months ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

KK, now that might work....note to self, go see the vet!
BB, tks.

{{{{Millie}}} {{{{Dara}}}} KK have you tried steam baths? (I'm sure you have but just asking anyway. My Jetta loved them when she had the sniffles, plus she got meowmy time all to herself (back in the days it was me and her and Boo Boo)

JBBM, that's an interesting idea. I might try that with Dara. Both she and Ringo like being in the bathroom with me in the morning but I think the heat lamp is the real attraction!

When she was a kitten she had a HORRIBLE cold. ER Vet told me to do the steam bath once an hour when home. We'd go into the bathroom and I'd put the shower on hot, hot, hot! Put her on the back of the commode and I put the lid down and sat facing her. We'd hang out in there for 10-20 minutes (depending on how long we each could stand it!) and she got lots of attention AND it helped her sniffles! I would wrap her in a towel and take her out to the rest of the house and keep her wrapped up till we both adapted to the cooler air. Once she got better she loved going into the bathroom with me!
I miss my girl :(
Give it a try and let us know if it helps!

@deb...WHAT THE FLYING EFF........that pizzles me off.....the clean police here in nyc r banning a sweet cat who is prolly cleaner than many new yorkers, but no one bans the many ppl who decide to make out or worse in the subways. what a country we live in. however, that being said, i want to kiss matilda's face. i forgot about the algonquin cats and feel abd i didnt check them out before they imposed this crap.

I'm back!! One of my favorite old-time interns came by to say hi - he's moving back down from NYC :)
I would think PT knew me better - I see him every day at work! My knee hurts worse now because he was poking and prodding it. And with all the pushing and pulling and squeezing, now my bad hip hurts, too :(
Other than that, it's all good - I get to leave in 40 minutes! What a long day! I got a lot accomplished, though - got new tires, got an oil change, got flowers for GG's mom tomorrow (hope they still look nice by then), walked too many dogs and who knows what else!
And the guy I dog-sat for last weekend (week and a half ago) who hadn't paid me, stopped by the gym to do so. He was so happy with my services, he paid me $200 instead of the $140 he owed me! That'll pay for the extra (used) tire I had to get today when I noticed at the tire place that the front tire I hadn't planned on replacing had a huge crack in it. -
GD... Diffusers??? Like in Feliway??? ;)

LOL 12Pawz! Maybe that is the answer to peaceful family gatherings! We should buy them up and rebrand them as Humaway!

Well, my part in Thanksgiving dinner is done. I just finished the Roasted Cranberry Relish, and my grandma's Tomato Aspic. And chopped the celery and onions for the rice dressing tomorrow. My brother gets to do the rest tomorrow morning. We're kinda excited, my mom will be able to join us after all! It will take some manuvering with wheelchairs etc, oxygen tanks, but she will come for dinner with us all. Happy Thanksgiving to all my littermates out there, peace and love, paulajeanne and Molly out! JBBM, hope your sister feels better soon, sounds like tommorrow will be busy enough without gobble gobble!

A little over two years, BB.
I'm finally done for the day! Finished work, stopped by Auntie Ellen's and said hi to Abby kitty and fed her, then went to dog-sitting place and fed and let out the dog. Was going to go home, but it's a half hour drive and I'm tired, so I'm staying here for the night. I'm so looking forward to having some time off tomorrow!

Evening all!...... finished a Loooooooong day........ worked half the day til noon, then started cooking for tomorrow.............did the turkey, deboned him and all the meat is now nicely resting in my yummy gravy, only have to reheat tomorrow!............. all prep is done for the stuffing, squash and butter beans..............cranberry relish salad is in fridge, rolls are waiting to be warmed, and pies are waiting for the oven when everything else comes out!................ exhausted, but looking forward to a great day!......... the twenty somethings are home, had a nice dinner, but alas, they are 'out' with their friends now, so Mr. AV and I are turning in........... hope everyone has a nice evening, and a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!............ I love you all, and feel blessed to know each and every one of you!

I wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving (or just a happy and fun day if you live somewhere other than USA). I hope the rest of the year brings you the jobs, the security, the love and whatever else you need.
I'm off to make enough stuffing for 24 people. Thank goodness someone else is in charge of turkey.

Hope that everyone has a good holiday today.
I may be up or might be under the covers trying to feel better, this cold has now set in for the next few hours at least.

Morning, all. I agree that the Health Dept. in NYC is out of control, poor kitty.
I'm considering walking to work today; on T'giving the subway is always packed with tourists who don't understand basic concepts like "hold onto something when the train is moving". They think it's hilarious to get thrown off their feet every time the train starts & stops, but they obviously don't think about the people around them. Um, people? It's a subway, not an amusement park.

Morning all!............ I tried to sleep in some this morning, since I did most everything yesterday, and set the table last night, I just have to put the casseroles in the oven........... whew!..............
Kilroy - sorry you have to work today! .......... and staying away from the subways sound like a smart idea!.................
.......... Abby is mad at me for sleeping in............ late getting her breakast.............. there might be revenge yakkage with I go back down stairs, I hope not ;)
